The Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada is a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church ecclesiastical territory or eparchy of the Catholic Church in the eastern part of Canada, primarily Ontario. The eparchy is a suffragan in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Winnipeg. Its cathedral is St. Josaphat’s Cathedral, in the episcopal see of Toronto. The eparchy also administers a national shrine, the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine, in Ottawa. On 28 April 2022 Pope Francis named Eparch Bryan Bayda of the Eparchy of Saskatoon as eparchial bishop.

Keelesdale is an underground light rail transit (LRT) station under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that will be part of the Toronto subway system. It will be located in the Silverthorn neighbourhood at the intersection of Keele Street and Eglinton Avenue and is scheduled to open in 2022. Nearby destinations include the York Civic Centre, Keelesdale Park and Chris Tonks Arena, York Memorial Collegiate Institute, George Harvey Collegiate Institute, the Humber River Regional Hospital's Keele campus, and the Silverthorn neighbourhood. The primary entrance and an off-street bus loop are located at the northeast corner of Eglinton Avenue and Trethewey Drive. A secondary entrance is located on the northwest corner of Eglinton Avenue and Trethewey Drive adjacent to York Memorial Collegiate. A third entrance is located at the southeast corner of Eglinton Avenue and Keele Street. The primary entrance will be fully accessible and have a station plaza with a landscaped public space. The station will have four bus bays plus on-street connections for TTC buses. Noise attenuation walls will be placed between the bus bays and neighbouring houses. There will be outdoor parking for 60 bicycles.During the planning stages for Line 5 Eglinton, the station was given the working name "Keele", which is identical to the pre-existing Keele station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. On November 23, 2015, a report to the TTC Board recommended giving a unique name to each station in the subway system (including Line 5 Eglinton). Thus, the LRT station was renamed "Keelesdale". Silverthorn was also considered.Before construction, land expropriations and demolitions were required. The primary entrance is at the site of former EMS Station 19 and a car wash. The secondary entrance is at the site of a former Coffee Time outlet and its adjacent parking lot.

Little Jamaica, also known as Eglinton West, is an ethnic enclave in the York district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is situated along Eglinton Avenue West, from Allen Road to Keele Street, and is part of four neighbourhoods: Silverthorn, Briar Hill–Belgravia, Caledonia–Fairbank, and Oakwood–Vaughan. The commercial main street has been recognized to be of great cultural heritage significance to the City of Toronto, as a distinct ethnic and cultural hub for African-Caribbean immigrants for many decades.

Silverthorn, often misspelled as Silverthorne, is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was part of the former City of York before the amalgamation of Toronto in 1998. The approximate boundaries are the GO Transit Barrie line railway tracks to the east, Black Creek Drive and the CP railway line to the west and the former boundaries of the City of York to the north and south. The neighbourhood west of Keele Street is known as Keelesdale. For demographic purposes, the city breaks the area down into two neighbourhoods Keelesdale-Eglinton West, south of Eglinton, and Beechborough-Greenbrook north of Eglinton.

George Harvey Collegiate Institute (George Harvey CI, GHCI also known simply as Harvey), formerly known as George Harvey Vocational School is a high school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada located at 1700 Keele Street. It is a school focused on technology and offers a STEPS to University program as well as a program called Game Design . It is also the first TDSB school to provide netbooks to students and was the first vocational school in the former City of York.

York Memorial Collegiate Institute (York Memorial CI, YMCI, York Memorial, or Memo) is a public secondary school that is part of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is de jure located at 2690 Eglinton Avenue West. The school is often referred to as "Memo" by its students.

York is a former city within the current city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located northwest of Old Toronto, southwest of North York and east of Etobicoke, where it is bounded by the Humber River. The city has a population of 145,662 as of 2016. As a separate city, it was one of six municipalities that amalgamated in 1998 to form the current city of Toronto. The City of York was created by the amalgamation of several villages, including the present-day neighbourhoods of Lambton Mills and Weston. The York Civic Centre is a government building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located at 2700 Eglinton Avenue West in the neighbourhood of Beechborough-Greenbrook. The building is used by the Toronto West Court Office and was the seat of the municipal government of the former city of York, Ontario. York's Civic Centre does not have a public square like several other civic centres in Toronto, but is located next to Coronation Park and York Memorial Collegiate Institute. There is a time capsule present on the grounds, adjacent to the city of York's war memorial. It is intended to be opened in 2193, Toronto's quadricentennial anniversary.

The Union Pearson Express (UP Express or UPX) is an airport rail link connecting Union Station in Downtown Toronto to Toronto Pearson International Airport. The UP Express began operation on 6 June 2015, in time for the 2015 Pan American Games. The UP Express travels between Union and Pearson in 25 minutes departing every 15 minutes, seven days a week. At the launch announcement, it was stated that the UP Express was projected to carry 2.35 million passengers annually and eliminate approximately 1.2 million car trips in the first year.UP Express is operated as an independent division of Metrolinx, similarly to GO Transit. An airport rail link was one of the priority projects identified in Metrolinx's regional transportation plan, "The Big Move". Construction began in 2011 as part of the Georgetown South Project, which expanded the rail corridor the UP Express shares with GO Transit and Via Rail. UP Express uses diesel multiple unit (DMU) trains that meet United States Environmental Protection Agency Tier 4 emission standards. The Kitchener line and UP Express will be electrified, although no date has been set. The UP Express has been criticized for not using electric trains from the outset, and for its initial fare prices that were high compared with other North American airport–city connections.

Fairbank is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The area covers a large central portion of the former City of York, Ontario centred on the intersection of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West. Fairbank includes the neighbourhoods of Briar Hill–Belgravia (North of Eglinton Avenue West) and Caledonia–Fairbank (South of Eglinton Avenue West). The western border is the CNR lines. The northern and southern borders are the former borders of the City of York and the eastern border is Dufferin Street (Oakwood Village).

As of 2017, construction work related to the station was in progress, having been scheduled to begin in 2014. The station is scheduled to open in 2022.During the planning stages for Line 5 Eglinton, the station was given the working name "Dufferin", which is identical to the pre-existing Dufferin station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. On November 23, 2015, a report to the TTC Board recommended giving a unique name to each station in the subway system (including Line 5 Eglinton). Thus, the LRT station was renamed "Fairbank" after the Fairbank neighbourhood rather than the intersecting Dufferin Street.The main entrance will replace the Esso gas station on the east side of St. Hilda's Park, at the southeast corner of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue. A secondary entrance will be on the northwest corner, where a right-turn slip road will be removed to provide the necessary space. A third structure, for mechanical and venting purposes, will replace a storefront near the southwest corner. Fairbank station will include a decorative exterior plaza having grass, a misting feature, 14 shade trees, 15 benches and 10 bicycle parking spaces. It will be suitable for community events.

Lycée Français Toronto (LFT) is a French international school in the Fairbank neighbourhood of Toronto. It serves levels PreK-12 and as of 2015 has 450 students. It was established in 1995. It is a part of the Agency For French Teaching Abroad (AEFE).The school previously occupied space in a four-storey building at 77 Charles Street West (formerly Kintore College c. 1950s)., a 300-foot (91 m) by 200-foot (61 m) space. The site that was owned by Promotion of Educational Values (PEV), a charity. PEV purchased the land for $2.3 million in 1997. In 2007 PEV announced that it was selling the land to a developer, Aspen Ridge Homes. The school site was to be replaced by condominiums. On June 16, 2008, it moved to its current location at 2327 Dufferin Street (formerly D.B. Hood Public School and leased from Toronto District School Board).
