Mutterstadt

The Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis is a district (Kreis) in the east of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) the district-free city Worms, the district Bergstraße, district-free Mannheim, Frankenthal and Ludwigshafen, Rhein-Neckar, district-free Speyer, the districts Karlsruhe, Germersheim, Südliche Weinstraße and Bad Dürkheim.

Dannstadt-Schauernheim is a municipality in the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated approximately 11 km southwest of Ludwigshafen. Dannstadt-Schauernheim is the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") Dannstadt-Schauernheim.

The Battle of Maudach occurred on 15 June 1796 between the French Revolutionary Army and the Army of the First Coalition. This was the opening action of the Rhine Campaign of 1796 on the Upper Rhine, slightly north of the town of Kehl. The Coalition, commanded by Franz Petrasch, lost 10 percent of its manpower missing, killed or wounded. It was fought at the village of Maudach, southwest of Ludwigshafen on the Rhine river opposite Mannheim. Maudach lies 10 km (6 mi) northwest of Speyer and today is a southwest suburb of Ludwigshafen; a principal town on the Rhine river in 1796.

The Golden Hat of Schifferstadt (German: Der Goldene Hut von Schifferstadt) was discovered in a field near the town of Schifferstadt in Southwest Germany in 1835. It is a Bronze Age artefact made of thin sheet gold and served as the external decoration of a head-dress, probably of an organic material, with a brim and a chin-strap. The hat is on display in the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in Speyer. It is one of a group of four similar artifacts known as the Golden hats, all cone-shaped Bronze Age head-dresses made of sheet gold.

Ruchheim is the far western suburb of Ludwigshafen am Rhein located in the Rhineland-Palatinate state of Germany. In the past Ruchheim was typically a small farming town, now however due to housing estates its population has burgeoned to approximately 6,000 inhabitants. Ruchheim's existence can be traced back to 800 AD when it is mentioned in the Lorsch Codex. It is mentioned in the Wormser wall-building ordinance from around 900 as one of the places that shared responsibility for maintaining the city wall of Worms.

Limburgerhof station – called Mutterstadt until 1930 – is in the town of Limburgerhof in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Deutsche Bahn classifies it as a category 4 station and it has two platform tracks and two through tracks. The station is located in the network of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar (Rhine-Neckar transport association, VRN) and belongs to fare zone 123. Its address is Am Bahnhofsplatz 1.It is located on the Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway, which essentially consists of the Palatine Ludwig Railway (Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn, Ludwigshafen–Bexbach). It was opened on 11 June 1847, when the Ludwigshafen–Neustadt section of the Ludwig Railway was put into full operation under the name of Mutterstadt, since it originally served the municipality of Mutterstadt. Its present name was given to it because the settlement of Limburgerhof was established in the area from 1900; this was raised to an independent municipality on 1 January 1930. In the meantime, it was rebuilt as a halt. Since December 2003, it has been served by lines S1 and S2 of the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn. Its former entrance building is heritage listed.

Schifferstadt station is a separation station in the town of Schifferstadt in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, where the Speyer line branches off from the Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway.

Limburgerhof is a municipality in the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, 7 km southwest of Ludwigshafen. It is known in the region because of an Agrochemical Center of the world's largest chemical company BASF, which has its headquarters in Ludwigshafen. The village with a population of about 10 000 was founded in 1930.

Schifferstadt (Palatine German: Schiwwerschdadd, Schiffaschdad, or Schiwwerschdadt) is a town in the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. If not including Ludwigshafen (the district free city that is the capital of Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis), Schifferstadt is the only urban municipality in the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis. It is situated approximately 12 km southwest of Ludwigshafen and 6 km northwest of Speyer.

The Floßbach (also Floßgraben or Floßkanal, formerly Flotzbach or Flotzbachgraben) is a man-made river 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) long. It is an orographically right-hand tributary of the Isenach in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It was built in the 18th century to enable the timber rafting of firewood.

Böhl-Iggelheim is a municipality in the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It has about 8,200 inhabitants and is situated approximately 15 km southwest of Ludwigshafen, and 10 km northwest of Speyer.
