Harker's Run (or Harkers Run, as shown on federal maps) is a stream originating in Preble County, Ohio. Harker's Run drains into Four Mile Creek on the eastern edge of the campus of Miami University in Oxford just north of where the Trenton Oxford Road crosses Four Mile/Talawanda Creek. The stream flows roughly from north to south, and is approximately 5.5 miles (8.9 km) in total length. The elevation at the mouth of the stream is 775 feet (236 m) above sea level. At its highest point, the stream is at approximately 1,000 feet (305 m) elevation. The stream is crossed by bridges on Bonham Road, Somerville Road, Hamilton Richmond Road, and Oxford Germantown Road. Much of Harker's Run lies within the Bachelor Wildlife and Game Reserve, owned and managed by Miami University (Oxford Township, Butler County, Ohio). The preserve contains land once owned by Joseph M. Bachelor, a professor of English at the university from 1927 to 1946, which was willed to the university upon his death in 1947. An extensive hiking trail system in the Reserve includes a 45 feet (14 m) long swinging bridge across Harker's Run.The confluence of this tributary to the larger Four Mile/Talawanda Creek is 0.25 miles (0.40 km) south of the historic Zachariah Price Dewitt Cabin. There is parking on the east side of the Ohio State Route 73 bridge across Four Mile/Talawanda Creek on the north side of the road.

McGonigle is an unincorporated community in northwestern Hanover Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States about seven miles northwest of Hamilton at the intersection of U.S. Route 27 and State Route 130 in sections 17 and 18 of R2ET4N of the Congress Lands. It was formerly a stop on the Cincinnati, Hamilton, and Dayton Railroad's Indianapolis branch. It was named for Philip McGonigle, an early settler, and is spelled in various ways (McGonigle is the spelling on the official Butler County highway map).

Peabody Hall is a mixed-use academic and residential building located on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The original building, known as Seminary Hall, was built in 1855, and was the central building of Western College for Women. That building burned down in 1860 and was rebuilt the following year, only to become damaged by an 1871 fire. Rebuilt again that same year, the building was renamed Peabody Hall, after Helen Peabody the first head of Western College, in 1905. Peabody Hall is one of two residential buildings on Miami's Western Campus still used for their original purposes. It is one of 15 contributing buildings to the Western Female Seminary National Historic District.

The Dewitt Log Homestead is a historic building near Oxford, Ohio, listed in the National Register on 1973-04-13.

Talawanda High School (THS) is a public high school in Oxford, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Talawanda School District and serves students in grades 9–12. It was created in 1956 with the consolidation of three Butler County high schools: Somerville and Collinsville High Schools in Milford Township, Hanover HS in Hanover Township (at the intersection of Mormon and Old Oxford Roads), and Stewart and McGuffey High Schools in Oxford Township. The first graduating class was in 1957. Athletic teams are known as the Brave, and the school colors are red, white, and navy blue.

The Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum is a public art museum located on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. As of 2021, John "Jack" Green is the director and chief curator of the museum.

Western College for Women, known at other times as Western Female Seminary, The Western and simply Western College, was a women's and later coed liberal arts college in Oxford, Ohio, between 1855 and 1974. Initially a seminary, it was the host of orientation sessions for the Freedom Summer in 1964. It was absorbed by Miami University in 1974 after dwindling finances. Now known as the Western Campus of Miami University, it was designated a U.S. Historic district known as the Western Female Seminary Historic District in 1979.

Langstroth Cottage is a historic building on the Western College campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It was designated a National Historic Landmark on June 22, 1976. The cottage, built in 1856, is now the home for the Oxford office of the Butler County Regional Transit Authority. It was purchased for Beekeeper L. L. Langstroth in 1859, and he lived there for the next 28 years, conducting research and breeding honey bees.

Harris Dining Hall – also known simply as Harris Hall- was named after Andrew Lintner Harris and was one of the many dining facilities located on the campus at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Since 1961, it was the main all-you-can-eat dining hall for undergraduate students who live on the southern side of the campus. The dining hall was closed after the spring semester of the 2016/2017 school year and it is unknown whether it will reopen. Harris was designed like most other buildings on campus in red brick and with a Georgian Revival architectural style.

The Karl Limper Geology Museum is located in Shideler Hall at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It is located off the lobby on the main level of the building. The museum was established in 1968 and contains a collection of ore minerals, meteorites, and a 16 inch trilobite. Much of the basis of the collection was collected by William H. Shideler, founder of Miami's geology program. The museum was funded by donations from alumni including James Wolff.

The Farmer School of Business (FSB) is the business school at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, offering on-campus undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as online graduate programs. The school and the Department of Accountancy are accredited by AACSB International. The FSB places an emphasis on experiential learning, international study and leadership development to prepare students to become leaders in the workplace and the community.

Culler Hall was a classroom building at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Its construction was completed in 1961. With the dedication of Culler Hall on Sunday, January 29, 1961, John B. Whitlock (Chairman of Building and Grounds Committee for the board of trustees) presented Culler Hall as a new building with classrooms and laboratories dedicated to the study of mathematics, physics, and aeronautics. Built from 1959 to 1961, Culler Hall construction warranted the cutting down of around 60 trees (many of which were very old and found to be dying from within upon removal). The clearing of these trees led to the creation of the protected Bishop Woods. In October 1957, then president of Miami University, Dr. John D. Millett, contacted architects from Cellarius and Hilmer Architects to estimate the cost of adding air-conditioning into Culler Hall during its creation. This warranted 8 inches more for each floor, creating a necessary amount of about $43,000 more for the project. The center of the U-shaped structure had an impressive glass front entrance showing off the Foucault Pendulum within.Culler Hall was renovated on the inside with its shell largely unchanged when it was converted into the east wing of the Armstrong Student Center within Phase 2 of construction.
