Mingala Taungnyunt Township (Burmese: မင်္ဂလာ‌တောင်ညွန့် မြို့နယ် [mɪ̀ɰ̃ɡəlà tàʊɰ̃ ɲʊ̰ɰ̃ mjo̰nɛ̀]; also spelled Mingalar Taung Nyunt) is a township of Yangon, Myanmar. Located in the east-central part of the city, the township consists of 20 wards, and shares borders with Dagon Township in the west, Bahan township in the north, Botataung Township in the south, Kyauktada Township in the southwest, and the Pazundaung Creek and Dawbon Township in the east. With nearly 100,000 residents, it is one of the most populous townships in the city. Mingala Taungnyunt has 22 primary schools, two middle schools and six high schools.

Pazundaung Township (Burmese: ပုဇွန်တောင် မြို့နယ် [bəzʊ̀ɰ̃dàʊɰ̃ mjo̰nɛ̀]) is a township located in the southeastern part of Yangon, Myanmar. The township consists of ten wards, and shares borders with Botataung Township in the west and the south, Mingala Taungnyunt Township in the northwest, Thaketa Township in the north and the Pazundaung Creek in the east. Pazundaung is connected to Dawbon Township across the Maha Bandula Bridge. The township has nine primary schools, three middle schools and four high schools as well as a hospital. Pazundaung Market and Yegyaw Market are the main shopping bazaars of the area.

Saint Mary's Cathedral or Immaculate Conception Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral located on the corner of Bogyoke Aung San Road and Bo Aung Kyaw Street in Botahtaung Township, Yangon, Myanmar. The cathedral's exterior, of red brick, consists of spires and a bell tower. It was designed by Dutch architect Joseph Cuypers, son of Pierre Cuypers.The cathedral is the largest in Burma. Located on the grounds of the cathedral is Basic Education High School No. 6, which is locally known as "Saint Paul's High School", although it has no religious affiliation with the Catholic Church today.

The Archdiocese of Yangon (Latin: Archidioecesis Yangonensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in Myanmar. Charles Bo, SDB was appointed Archbishop of Yangon by Pope John Paul II on May 24, 2003.

Basic Education High School No. 4 Botataung (Burmese: အခြေခံ ပညာ အထက်တန်း ကျောင်း အမှတ် (၄) ဗိုလ်တထောင်; commonly known as Botataung 4 High School or St. Mary's Convent School), located in Botataung township, is a public high school in Yangon. The building of all girls school is a landmark protected by the city, and is listed on the Yangon City Heritage List.

Yegyaw Market (Burmese: ရေကျော်ဈေး) is one of two major public market located in Pazundaung Township, Yangon, Myanmar, the other being Pazundaung Market. The market opened in 1924, and houses 272 shops in an area measuring 0.797 acres (0.323 ha). The area around the market hosts a major annual night market during the Thadingyut Festival, which marks the end of the Buddhist lent. The original Yekyaw Market was established in 1924. Reconstruction of the new market began on 24 February 2014, and was completed on 17 February 2016. The new facility was officially opened on 3 October 2016. The new market building is a 8½-story structure, with modern facilities.

Yangon Central railway station (Burmese: ရန်ကုန် ဘူတာကြီး [jàɰ̃ɡòʊɰ̃ bùdàdʑí]), also known as Yangon Central Station, is the largest railway station in Myanmar. It is located within downtown Yangon, and serves as the gateway to Myanmar Railways' 3,126 mi (5,031 km) rail network whose reach covers Upper Myanmar (Naypyidaw, Mandalay, Shwebo), upcountry (Myitkyina), Shan hills (Taunggyi, Kalaw), and the Taninthayi coast (Mawlamyine, Ye). The station was first built in 1877 by the British, and was later rebuilt in 1911. However, the station was destroyed by the retreating British in 1943 from advancing Japanese forces. The current station building was designed by U Tin in traditional Burmese architectural style, making prominent use of indigenous tiered roofs called pyatthat, and was completed on 5 June 1954. Yangon Central railway station has been designated a landmark building since 1996.

The Burma Athletic Association Ground (BAA Ground) was a cricket ground in Rangoon, Burma (today Yangon, Myanmar). It was built as an athletic ground in 1906, which was completed in 1909, where many sports were held such as cricket, football and tennis. The first and only recorded match on the ground came in 1927 when Burma played its only first-class match against the touring Marylebone Cricket Club. The match ended in a heavy defeat for Burma. Cricket in Burma (which was at the time administered as part of the British Raj) was a mainly British affair, with the game played by British officials. With Burmese independence in 1948, cricket became largely extinct in the country, and The BAA Ground was renovated and renamed as Bogyoke Aung San Stadium in 1953.

The Bogyoke Aung San Stadium (Burmese: ဗိုလ်ချုပ် အောင်ဆန်း အားကစားကွင်း; MLCTS: buil hkyup aung hcan: a: ka. ca: kwang:) is a multi-purpose stadium, located in downtown Yangon, Myanmar. It was built as an athletic ground in 1906, which was completed in 1909 and named as Burma Athletic Association Ground, where many sports were held such as cricket, football and tennis. The 400 m (1,300 ft) runway was constructed in 1935.

Basic Education High School (BEHS) No. 6 Botataung (Burmese: အခြေခံ ပညာ အထက်တန်း ကျောင်း အမှတ် (၆) ဗိုလ်တထောင်; abbreviated to အ.ထ.က. (၆) ဗိုလ်တထောင်; commonly known as Botataung 6 High School or St. Paul's High School), located a few miles east of downtown Yangon in Botataung township, is a public high school, and one of the oldest high schools in Myanmar. The school initially offered three kindergarten classes - Lower, Middle, Higher known as LKG, MKG, HKG and First through Tenth Standard. It now offers classes from kindergarten to Tenth Standard (or Grade 1 through Grade 11 in the new nomenclature). Known during the British colonial days as St. Paul's English High School, the Roman Catholic parochial school was the top school of choice for the children of the elite. Many of the country's who's who in those days were alumni of St. Paul's. The school was nationalized in 1965. While it is no longer the leading high school it once was, the school continues to be among the better (certainly among the better known) high schools in Yangon, serving mostly the children of middle-class families from downtown Yangon and vicinity. The school's main three-story red brick colonial era building is a landmark protected by the city, and is listed on the Yangon City Heritage List.

The Tun Foundation Bank (Burmese: ထွန်းဖောင်ဒေးရှင်းဘဏ်) is a privately owned bank in Myanmar that was established on 8 June 1994. All the profits from this bank go into scholarships for children from poor families.

The Ministers' Building (Burmese: ဝန်ကြီးများရုံး; also called the Ministers' Office; is today known as The Secretariat or Secretariat Yangon) was the home and administrative seat of British Burma, in downtown Yangon, Burma and is the spot where Aung San and eight cabinet ministers were assassinated. The British administration moved the office from Strand Road after administrative work increased greatly resulting in an urgent need to expand the cramped and poorly lit administration building.
