Fairfield, Maine

Fairfield is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Fairfield in Somerset County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,569 at the 2000 census.

The Connor-Bovie House is a historic house at 22 Summit Street in Fairfield, Maine. Built 1856–58, this house is a locally distinctive example of Greek Revival and Italianate styling. It is also significant as the home of William Connor, a prominent regional lumber baron, and as the home of his son Seldon, a general in the American Civil War and three-term Governor of Maine. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Cotton-Smith House is a historic house at 42 High Street in Fairfield, Maine. Built in 1890, it is one of Fairfield's finest Queen Anne Victorian houses. It was built by Joseph Cotton, owner of the Maine Manufacturing Company, which produced iceboxes, and occupied by him for just four years. The house was acquired in 1983 by the Fairfield Historical Society, which operates it as the Fairfield History House, a museum of local history. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Gerald Hotel is a former hotel building at 151–157 Main Street in the center of Fairfield, Maine. It was designed by William R. Miller for Amos F. Gerald, one of Maine's leading businessmen of the late 19th century, and built in 1899–1900. It is a striking Renaissance Revival structure, with a sophistication of design and decoration not normally found in rural Maine, and is one of the town's largest buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The Amos Gerald House is a historic house at 107 Main Street in Fairfield, Maine. Built c. 1910 by Maine businessman Amos F. Gerald, the house is notable both for its architecture, which is best described as resembling a medieval castle, and for its association with Gerald, who was a major proponent of electrification in the state, and who built many of the state's (now defunct) trolley systems. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Lawrence Library is the public library of Fairfield, Maine. It is located at 33 Lawrence Avenue, in an architecturally distinguished Romanesque Revival building designed by William R. Miller and completed in 1901. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Lawrence High School is a school public secondary school in Fairfield, Maine, United States. It is a part of the Maine School Administrative District (MSAD) 49 and is the district's only public high school. Lawrence serves students from the four towns of Albion, Benton, Clinton, and Fairfield. It offers dual enrollment credits through the local colleges Thomas and KVCC. Students can also earn college credits through a variety of AP classes.

The Benton Grange No. 458 is an historic Grange hall at 29 River Road in Benton, Maine, USA. Built in 1915, it is one of the rural community's largest buildings, serving for many years as a social and civic venue for the town. From 1915 to 1990 it housed the annual town meeting. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Kennebec Valley Community College is a public community college in Fairfield and Hinckley, Maine. It is one of the seven colleges in the Maine Community College System.

WEBB is a country formatted FM radio station licensed to Waterville, Maine. It is owned by Townsquare Media, and broadcasts on 98.5 FM. It used to be simulcast on AM 1490 WTVL. Its studios are located along with WMME-FM, WTVL, and WJZN in Augusta. The station's signal can also be received in parts of the Bangor market. On air personalities include Buzz and Brittany in the Morning, Buzz Bradley, Brittany Rose, Quinn Alexander, and Sam Alex.

WTVL (1490 kHz "Kool AM 1490") was a commercial AM radio station licensed to serve Waterville, Maine, and serving Kennebec County. The station was owned by Townsquare Media and until December 31, 2022, it broadcast an adult standards radio format, playing softer hits from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. The station featured the music of Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Nat King Cole and Dionne Warwick in its playlist. WTVL’s transmitter power output was 1,000 watts. The transmitter was off Benton Avenue in Winslow. The studios and offices were on Western Avenue in Augusta.

WFMX (107.9 FM, "107-9 the Mix") is an adult contemporary-formatted radio station licensed to Skowhegan, Maine.
