The Crocodile Lake National Wildlife Refuge is part of the United States National Wildlife Refuge System, located in north Key Largo, less than 40 miles (64 km) south of Miami off SR 905 (Card Sound Road). The 6,686 acres (2,706 ha) refuge (located in Monroe County, Florida) opened during the year of 1980, under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 and the Endangered Species Act of 1973. It was established in order to protect critical breeding and nesting habitat for the threatened American crocodile and other wildlife. This area also includes 650 acres (260 ha) of open water in and around the refuge. In addition to being one of only three breeding populations of the American crocodile, the refuge is home to tropical hardwood hammock, mangrove forest, and salt marsh. It is administered as part of the National Key Deer Refuge which is also located in the Florida Keys.

North Key Largo is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,431 at the 2020 census, up from 1,244 in 2010. It includes two private clubs, the Ocean Reef Club and the Key Largo Anglers Club, and is reached from the mainland via the Card Sound Bridge.

WORZ-LP (107.9 FM) was a radio station licensed to Key Largo, Florida, United States. The station was owned by Ocean Reef Radio Inc. The Federal Communications Commission cancelled WORZ-LP's license on February 4, 2020, due to the station's failure to file an application for license renewal.

Old Rhodes Key is an island north of the upper Florida Keys in Biscayne National Park. It is in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is located just north of Broad Creek in the lower part of Biscayne Bay.

Turtle Reef is a coral reef situated at the northern extremity of the Turtle Rocks shoal, and located within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. It lies to the east of Key Largo, within the Key Largo Existing Management Area, which is immediately to the east of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park within Hawk Channel. Unlike many reefs within the National Marine Sanctuary, this reef is not within a Sanctuary Preservation Area (SPA). The reef is north of Carysfort Reef.

Totten Key is an island of the upper Florida Keys in Biscayne National Park. It is in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is located in southern Biscayne Bay, just west of Old Rhodes Key.

Islandia is an unincorporated community and former city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It is located in the upper Florida Keys on the islands of Elliott Key and other nearby keys, such as Totten Key. It was the only municipality in the Florida Keys not located in neighboring Monroe County. The population was 18 at the 2010 Census. Most residents of the city were National Park Service employees. In the 2010 Primary Election, the Miami-Dade County Commission was empowered via a charter amendment to abolish Islandia. On December 6, 2011, Miami-Dade County Commissioners unanimously approved an ordinance to abolish the city, with final action to be taken after a public hearing. Following a public hearing, the ordinance abolishing Islandia received final approval on March 6, 2012, and took effect on March 16, 2012.

The Rubicon Keys are two small islands north of the upper Florida Keys in Biscayne National Park. They are in Miami-Dade County, Florida. They are located in southern Biscayne Bay, just north of Old Rhodes Key and Totten Key, and just east of the southern tip of Elliott Key. They are on the south side of Caesar Creek, the creek that separates Elliott and Old Rhodes Keys.

Porgy Key is a small island north of the upper Florida Keys in Biscayne National Park. It is in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is located in southern Biscayne Bay, just north of Old Rhodes Key and Totten Key, just southeast of the southern tip of Elliott Key, and in between Old Rhodes and Reid Keys. It is on the south side of Caesar Creek, the creek that separates Elliott and Old Rhodes Keys.

Reid Key is a small island north of the upper Florida Keys in Biscayne National Park. It is in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is located in southern Biscayne Bay, just north of Old Rhodes Key and Totten Key, just east of the southern tip of Elliott Key, and in between the Rubicon Keys and Porgy Key. It is on the south side of Caesar Creek, the creek that separates Elliott and Old Rhodes Keys.

Meig's Key is a small island north of the upper Florida Keys in Biscayne National Park. It is in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is located in southern Biscayne Bay, just north of Old Rhodes Key and Totten Key, just southeast off the southern tip of Elliott Key, and due south of Adams Key. It is on the south side of Caesar Creek, the creek that separates Elliott and Old Rhodes Keys.
