Montaño is a station on the New Mexico Rail Runner Express commuter rail line on Montaño Rd. between Edith Blvd. and Second St., in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The station opened on April 7, 2014, marking the end of construction of the Montaño Transit Center. The station platform and shelters were built in pueblo-revival style, and features green technology, such as LED lighting and solar panels. The platform itself can accommodate a maximum of five rail cars, correcting a problem that arose with other stations along the route concerning inadequate space for passenger cars. The parking lot offers some sheltered parking structures, as well as bicycle lockers. Bus bays have been created to accommodate current transit service to the station and allow for expansion of bus service to the Montaño Transit Center at an undisclosed future date. The transit center is designed to link residents in the north valley neighborhoods to both ABQ RIDE and the Rail Runner, and to relieve overcrowded parking lots at the Los Ranchos/Journal Center station.Starting January 11, passengers can transfer to ABQ RIDE route 157, which serves both Cottonwood and Coronado malls, and Kirtland Air Force Base. The station is also served by the NMDOT Park and Ride Purple route. Each of the stations contains an icon to express each community's identity. The icon representing this station represents is a leaf from a cottonwood tree, which is native to the Rio Grande region.

The Samuel Shalit House is a historic house in the North Valley area of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The house is a well executed example of the English Cottage style, which is not commonly found in New Mexico, and has distinctive features such as patterned brick and a faux thatched roof. It was built in 1936 by Samuel Shalit (1893–1962), a Russian Jewish immigrant who accumulated substantial real estate holdings in the North Valley. The property was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. In the mid-1980s, the house was converted from a private residence into a restaurant, Mr. Powdrell's Barbeque House, preserving much of the interior. Powdrell's is still operating as of 2023. The house is one story high and constructed from uniquely patterned red brick. The roofline is complex, consisting of a hip roof with two clipped gables, a diagonal Dutch gable, and a half-hipped dormer. The edges of the roof are rounded off to emulate thatching. The building also features tall chimneys, casement windows, some with semicircular fanlights, and a wrap-around porch with wrought-iron balustrades.

The Juan Chavez House is a historic two-story terrone house in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was built in 1914-1917 by Juan Chavez, a native of San Acacia, New Mexico who lived here with his wife Candelaria and their nine children. Half of the first floor was a grocery, out of which the family sold produce. Chavez also worked for a liquor wholesaler, Stern, Schloss and Company. During prohibition, which lasted from 1920 to 1933, he stored bootlegged alcohol in the upstairs bedroom. In 1948, the house was purchased by Louis Gross and his wife, Leona. He sold fruit, vegetables, and his own wine, made in Bernalillo, New Mexico. The house was later inherited by his son, Louis W. Gross. Wilhelmina (Billie) Gross, wife of Louis W. Gross, was instrumental in getting the house listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The house was remodelled as a hair salon by Frank Vallejos in 1989.

Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, known locally simply as "Los Ranchos" or "The Village," is a village in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. The population was 6,024 at the time of the 2010 Census.

The Tomasa Griego de Garcia House is a historic house in the North Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its exact age is not known, but it was probably built in the mid-1850s and belonged to Tomasa Griego de Garcia until her death in 1890. The property remained in her family's possession until 1947. In the 1950s, it was purchased by the Koeber family, who enclosed the entrance, rebuilt a collapsed part of the west wing, and added plumbing and electricity. It is located on a private drive just south of another historic building, the Barela–Bledsoe House. The house is a one-story, U-shaped building with a central placita or courtyard. It originally consisted of two separate wings joined by a zaguan, or covered passageway, which was enclosed in the 1950s to create a foyer. On either side of the entrance are the sala or living room to the west and a combined dining room and kitchen to the east, both of which have corner fireplaces and original ceilings consisting of hand-cut boards supported by vigas. The north end of the west wing was rebuilt in the 1950s and contains a bedroom and study. There is also a bedroom at the north end of the east wing. The house has Territorial-style wooden window trim with pedimented lintels. The walls are 24 to 30 inches (61 to 76 cm) thick and are constructed from terrones (sod bricks).

The Juan Cristobal Armijo Homestead, at 207 Griegos Rd., NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was built in 1875. It was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1978 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The listing included four contributing buildings and a contributing structure on 9.5 acres (3.8 ha).It has also been known as Outlook Ranch and as Hacienda del Lago. It is a Territorial hacienda, built of terrones (sod bricks) with multiple rooms surrounding a placita. The house is set back in the property and screened by trees and shrubberies. The property includes a man-made pond created around 1950, which gives the property its "Hacienda del Lago" name. It is adjacent to another historic property, the Juan de Dios Chavez House.

The Juan de Dios Chavez House is a historic house in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The date of construction is unknown but it was probably built sometime before 1875. The property was part of the land on which Juan Cristobal Armijo built his "New Homestead" around that time, and the Juan de Dios Chavez House is thought to be older based on its architecture. Juan de Dios Chavez, who belonged to an old North Valley family, acquired the house in the early 20th century. The house was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.The house is a one-story, flat-roofed building constructed from terrones, large adobe bricks, with outer walls 24 inches (61 cm) thick. It contains four rooms arranged in an L shape, with three rooms on the west side and one room on the east side. There is a double wall between the two sections, suggesting that they may originally have been separate buildings. Each room originally had a separate exterior door, but some were later converted into windows. Two of the rooms have original ceilings with round vigas.

The Barela–Bledsoe House is a historic house in the North Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was built around 1870 by Juan Estevan Barela (1842–1886), a prosperous farmer and merchant. At the time of his death, he owned over 100 acres (0.40 km2) of land and 13,000 sheep. The house was inherited by his widow Abundia García de Barela (c. 1849–1943), who owned the property until her death. In the twentieth century, it was the residence of Robert Dietz III (c. 1915–1991), whose previous home is also a listed historic property. The Barela–Bledsoe House was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1976 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.The house is a one-story, L-shaped building wrapping around the north and east sides of a placita or courtyard; a former wing enclosing the west side of the courtyard is no longer extant. The two remaining wings are joined by a zaguan, a covered passageway opening onto the placita. A portal or portico is attached to the east side of the house. The walls are 22 inches (56 cm) thick and are constructed from terrones (sod bricks) set on a stone foundation. The house has Territorial-style details including wooden door and window trim with pedimented, dentil-patterned lintels. The east wing contains seven rooms with 13-foot (4.0 m) ceilings supported by milled beams, an adaptation of the traditional viga and latilla roof using more modern construction methods. A second zaguan through the center of the east wing has been closed off to form a hallway. The north wing houses a separate apartment and a garage.

KNMM (1150 AM and 102.1 FM) is a radio station licensed to Sangre de Cristo Broadcasting Co., Inc. in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States, the station serves the Albuquerque area. The station switched to 60s and 70s classic hits format, but continues to play New Mexico music on Saturdays with some Tejano music as well, and syndicates Fox News Radio and KOAT-TV for some news programming. KNMM has also reached a 3-year agreement to air live coverage of New Mexico State Aggies football and basketball.In March 2015, the then-KDEF was granted an FCC construction permit to triplex at the KSVA/KRZY transmitter site. The day power will be 1,500 watts and the night power will be 105 watts. On December 1, 2016, the station was licensed to Sangre de Cristo Broadcasting Co., Inc., which owns four stations in the Las Vegas, New Mexico area. 1150 AM is a Regional broadcast frequency in the United States and Canada.

The Refugio Gomez House is a historic house in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was built around 1875 and was probably purchased by Refugio Gomez in 1911. In 1942, the house was bought by Mela Sedillo Koeber, who built an addition containing a kitchen and bathroom. The building was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is located on the same block as another historic property, the Adrian Barela House. The house is an example of Territorial architecture. It has irregular adobe walls, which are 18 to 24 inches (46 to 61 cm) thick, and simple wooden door and window trim. The original section of the house is at the front, while two additions at the rear date to the 1890s and 1942–43, respectively. A much larger addition was constructed on the south side around 2012. The interior of the house features original wooden floorboards, vigas, and corner fireplaces. The historic nomination also includes an adobe chicken coop on the property which has been converted into a small house.
