First Baptist Church (Richmond, Virginia)

The Patrick Henry Building is a historic building located in Richmond, Virginia. Formerly designated simply as the Old State Library or the Virginia State Library and Archives and Virginia Supreme Court, it was renovated, then rededicated and renamed for the Founding Father and former Virginia Governor Patrick Henry on June 13, 2005.

West Hospital is a building on the Medical College of Virginia Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University noted for its Art Deco architecture. It was commissioned by the Federal Works Agency;Public Works Administration and dedicated in 1940. Then known as the "New MCV Hospital", it was the fourth tallest building in Richmond when it opened to national acclaim in 1941, and is still among the tallest.The seventeen-story building, in Richmond's Court End, is in a crucifix shape. On the entrance of the building's west auditorium, a plaque (pictured) indicates that "on this site the Virginia convention ratified the United States Constitution June 25, 1788." The building was originally slated for demolition as part of the VCU 2020 plan, but has since gotten a reprieve. The Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods (ACORN) opposed the demolition.Historic preservationists were outraged when VCU announced a master plan in 2004 that called for the demolition the West Hospital and an adjacent eight-story Art Deco building, completed in 1938, known as the A.D. Williams Clinic. Despite opposition, the A.D. Williams clinic was demolished in 2010. The updated 2020 master plan calls for short-term renovations to the West Hospital to “allow continued use of the building for the foreseeable future primarily as an office facility serving the MCV Campus.” The board of visitors approved more than $5 million in renovation work on two floors of the building.The Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism located in the building offers added convenience and improved access to care by bringing together clinical and specialized support services for children with diabetes, obesity and other endocrine disorders. Charlotte Williams Memorial Hospital, also known as Memorial Hospital, is a historic hospital building located in Richmond, Virginia. It was built between 1901 and 1903, and is a three-story, with basement, neo-Palladian Revival style building. It has an "H"-shaped plan, and has brick and granite walls, steel joists, steel elevators and masonry stairs. In 1986, the Virginia Department of Transportation acquired the hospital and rehabilitated it for office use.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Lobby Day 2020 was a gun rights rally that took place on January 20, 2020 at the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond, Virginia. The rally was an extension of the Second Amendment sanctuary movement and was organized by the Virginia Citizens Defense League. Fears of violence by neo-Nazis prompted the governor of Virginia to declare a state of emergency ahead of the event, although the event concluded peacefully with no reports of violence.

Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) is a nationally ranked pediatric acute care children's hospital located within VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. The hospital has 144 pediatric beds. It is affiliated with The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and is a member of VCU Health. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout eastern Virginia. CHOR also has a helipad to transport critically ill pediatric patients. Children's Hospital of Richmond features the only pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in the region and the state.The hospital is rated as the second best children's hospital in Virginia on the 2020-21 U.S. News & World Report.

The Virginia Governor's Mansion, better known as the Executive Mansion, is located in Richmond, Virginia, on Capitol Square and serves as the official residence of the governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Designed by Alexander Parris, it is the oldest occupied governor's mansion in the United States. It has served as the home of Virginia governors and their families since 1813. This mansion is both a Virginia and a National Historic Landmark, and has had a number of successive renovations and expansions during the 20th century. Adjacent and immediately north of Capitol Square is the Court End neighborhood, which houses the White House of the Confederacy. During the Civil War, the Virginia State Capitol, also in Richmond, housed offices of the Confederacy. Tours of the mansion are offered several days a week.

Putney Houses are a set of two historic homes located in Richmond, Virginia. The Samuel Putney House at 1010 E. Marshall Street is a three-story, three bay Italianate style townhouse with rich architectural decoration. It features a delicate cast iron, one-story porch across the first story. The neighboring Stephen Putney House at 1012 E. Marshall Street is a three-story, three-bay stuccoed brick dwelling crowned by a bracketed cornice. It features magnificent two-story verandah of ornamental iron on the east side. Both Putney Houses were built in 1859, and have extensive rear ells. The ornamental ironwork is a product of the local Phoenix Iron Works.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969.

Morson's Row, also known as James Morson's Row, is a set of three historic rowhouses located in Richmond, Virginia. They were built in 1853, and are three-story, three bay brick structures with flat roofs. They feature Italianate style heavy bracketed cornices, arched door enframements, and elaborately molded consoled lintel over the windows. The distinctive feature of the row is the off-center, two-bay bow on each house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969.

Virginia Department of Highways Building, also known as the State Highway Commission Building, is a historic government office building located in Richmond, Virginia. The building serves as headquarters for the Virginia Department of Transportation. It was built in 1937, and is a four-story, Stripped Classicism style building. It is of steel and reinforced concrete construction, with a veneer of limestone, Virginia greenstone, and pink granite.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Monumental Church is a former Episcopal church at 1224 E. Broad Street between N. 12th and College streets in Richmond, Virginia. Designed by architect Robert Mills, it is one of America's earliest and most distinctive Greek Revival churches. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has been designated as a National Historic Landmark and is located in the Court End historic district. Monumental Church was built between 1812 and 1814 to commemorate the 72 people who died on the site in the December 26, 1811, Richmond Theatre fire. The building consists of two parts: a crypt and a church. The crypt is located beneath the sanctuary and contains the remains of those who died in the fire. The church is octagonal in form; its walls are constructed with brick faced with Aquia Creek sandstone and a stucco finish.

The Richmond Theatre fire occurred in Richmond, Virginia, United States, on Thursday, December 26, 1811. It devastated the Richmond Theatre, located on the north side of Broad Street between what is now Twelfth and College Streets. The fire killed 72 people, including Virginia's governor George William Smith, former U.S. senator Abraham B. Venable, and other government officials in what was the worst urban disaster in U.S. history at the time. The Monumental Church was erected on the site as a memorial to the fire.

William Beers House, also known as the Beers House, is a historic home located in Richmond, Virginia. It was built in 1839, and is a three-story, three bay, Greek Revival style brick dwelling crowned by an Italianate bracketed cornice and shallow hipped roof. It features an entrance with sidelights and pilasters framed by a porch containing coupled Greek Doric order columns. The house was enlarged to a full three stories in 1860. In 1965 the house was acquired by the Medical College of Virginia.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969.
