Plaistow Carhouse

Plaistow (, traditionally ) is a town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 7,830 at the 2020 census.

Timberlane Regional High School is located in Plaistow, New Hampshire, and serves as a regional high school for the towns of Atkinson, Danville, Plaistow, and Sandown, New Hampshire. The school was built in 1966 and is a part of the Timberlane Regional School District. Timberlane Regional High School is a co-educational school for grades 9-12. The school has won the 1996, 1997 and 2014 Excellence In Education Award. As of 2005, the school has approximately 1,400 students on roll. The school mascot is the owl. The school is regionally accredited for its award-winning wrestling team, which holds 28 NH State Wrestling Champions titles, as of 2020.

Newton Junction is an unincorporated community in the town of Newton in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. It is located in the western portion of Newton, between the main portion of Newton (to the east) and South Kingston (to the west). Amtrak's Downeaster railroad line passes through the village, but does not have a stop. The nearest Downeaster stations are Haverhill, Massachusetts, to the south, and Exeter, New Hampshire, to the north. The West Amesbury Branch Railroad once led southeast from Newton Junction to Merrimac, Massachusetts. Although it is not a town, "Newton Junction" is a valid address used for the 03859 ZIP code in Newton (post office boxes only).

The Dustin-Duston Garrison House or Dustin House is a historic First Period house in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Built about 1700, it is one of a very small number of surviving period houses built out of brick in Massachusetts. It is also notable for its association with the Dustin or Duston family; Hannah Duston was famously captured by Native Americans during a 1697 attack on Haverhill, probably while this house was under construction. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Atkinson Academy is a public elementary school at 17 Academy Avenue in Atkinson, New Hampshire. It is a part of the Timberlane Regional School District. Built in 1803, it is claimed to be the oldest standing co-educational school in the United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Haverhill ( HAY-vril) is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. Haverhill is located 35 miles north of Boston on the New Hampshire border and about 17 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The population was 67,787 at the 2020 United States census.Located on the Merrimack River, Haverhill began as a farming community of Puritans, largely from Newbury Plantation. The land was officially purchased from the Pentuckets on November 15, 1642 (One year after incorporation) for three pounds, and ten shillings. Pentucket was renamed Haverhill (after the Ward family's hometown in England) and evolved into an important industrial center, beginning with sawmills and gristmills run by water power. In the 18th and 19th century, Haverhill developed woolen mills, tanneries, shipping and shipbuilding. The town was home to a significant shoe-making industry for many decades. By the end of 1913, one tenth of the shoes produced in the United States were made in Haverhill, and because of this the town was known during the time as the "Queen Slipper City".

Country Pond is a 306-acre (124 ha) water body located in Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Kingston and Newton. Water from Country Pond flows via the Powwow River to the Merrimack River in Amesbury, Massachusetts. The lake is classified as a warmwater fishery, with observed species including smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, black crappie, white perch, American eel, bluegill, white sucker, and pumpkinseed.

Winnekenni Castle is located in the over 700-acre Winnekenni Park Conservation Area, overlooking Kenoza Lake, in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Inspired by stone buildings he saw while visiting England, Haverhill chemist Dr. James R. Nichols built it between 1873 and 1875 as a summer home, and he named it and the surrounding land "Winnekenni," an Algonquin word meaning "very beautiful." It is one of the earliest works of Haverhill architect C. Willis Damon. The city of Haverhill purchased the castle in 1895, and in 1976, the city acquired 50.8 acres of conservation land between the Castle and Lake Saltonstall. The Castle's elaborate Victorian interior was destroyed by a fire in 1969, which led to the formation of the Winnekenni Foundation by a group of citizens. Today, the foundation is responsible for the upkeep of the castle and the surrounding land and trails. Under the direction and guidance of carpentry teacher Paul Crowley and carpentry students from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, they were able to complete a refurbishing and remodeling of the building.

Hampstead Academy is a private, independent day school situated on a wooded 9-acre (36,000 m2) campus in southeastern New Hampshire. Established in 1978, Hampstead Academy is approved by the New Hampshire State Department of Education, and Health and Human Services (DHHS), and is fully accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is SEVIS certified. The school serves students in preschool through grade 8.

The Primrose Street Schoolhouse is a historic school building at 71 Primrose Street in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The two story brick building was designed by Haverhill architect Josiah M. Littlefield and built in 1868 to meet increased demand for schooling occasioned by an influx of French Canadian families, and served as a public school until the 1890s. It was sold by the city in 1909, at which time it was converted into a multifamily residence. The building's 20th century uses, in addition to housing, have included office space for social service agencies, and a day care center.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
