The Battle of Kassa was a battle in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, fought on 4 January 1849 between Austria and Hungarian Revolutionary Army during the Winter Campaign of the Hungarian War of independence of 1848-1849. The Austrians were led by Lieutenant General Franz Schlik, while the Hungarians were led by Lieutenant General Lázár Mészáros. While the Austrian main army led by Field Marshal Alfred I, Prince of Windisch-Grätz was attacking Hungary from the West, Schlik's corps invaded Northern Hungary. The Hungarian Upper Tisza corps led by the Minister of War Lázár Mészáros tried to stop Schlik's corps, but he was defeated at Kassa. After this battle Colonel György Klapka, who will be more successful than Mészáros. On 9 January Kossuth appointed Colonel György Klapka to replace Mészáros.

Košická futbalová aréna (KFA) is a football stadium in Košice, Slovakia. It is the home ground of a local club FC Košice and now has an all-seated capacity of 5,836 people, though it is planned to increase its capacity to 12,658.

Luník IX is a borough (city ward) in the city of Košice, Slovakia, in the Košice II district. It is located in the western-central part of the city, surrounded by the boroughs of Pereš, Myslava, Barca, Juh and Západ.

It's one of the smaller boroughs of its district and consists mainly of housing.

Barca (Hungarian: Bárca) is a borough (city ward) of Košice, Slovakia. Located in the Košice IV district, it lies at an altitude of roughly 210 metres (690 ft) above sea level, and is home to over 3,600 people. The borough is generally rural in nature.

Všešportový areál ("All Sports Complex") was a multi-purpose stadium in Košice, Slovakia. In its 21 years operating as a professional football ground, the Czechoslovakia national football team, then the independent Slovakia national football team, and local club FC VSS Košice played home matches there from 1976 to 1997.

Poľov (Hungarian: Pólyi) is a borough (city ward) of the city of Košice, Slovakia. Located in the Košice II district, it lies at an altitude of roughly 275 metres (902 ft) above sea level, and is home to nearly 1,200 people. The borough retains much of its rural character.

Šebastovce (Hungarian: Zsebes) is a borough (city ward) of Košice, Slovakia. Located in the Košice IV district, it lies at an altitude of roughly 209 metres (686 ft) above sea level, and borders the boroughs of Barca and Poľov. Šebastovce has a mostly rural character, with a population of over 700 inhabitants. Along with Poľov and Šaca, it is the southernmost of Košice's 22 boroughs, and the southernmost of the Košice IV boroughs.

Lorinčík (Hungarian: Szentlőrincke) is a borough (city ward) of Košice, Slovakia. Lorinčík is located in the Košice II district, at an altitude of roughly 302 metres (991 ft) above sea level. It is one of the westernmost boroughs of Košice and retains its traditionally rural character.

Kostoľany nad Hornádom (Hungarian: Hernádszentistván) is a village and municipality of Košice-okolie District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia, about 10 km north of the city of Košice.

Košice-Juh (literally: Košice-South; Hungarian: Kassa-Dél) is a borough (city ward) of the city of Košice, Slovakia. Located in the Košice IV district, in the southern area of the city, it lies at an altitude of roughly 200 metres (660 ft) above sea level.

Sídlisko KVP is a borough (city ward) in the city of Košice, Slovakia, in the Košice II district. The borough is located in the Košice II district, at an altitude of roughly 309 metres (1,014 ft) above sea level, and is synonymous with the Sídlisko KVP (KVP Housing Estate) that covers most of its territory. The name "KVP" stands for "Košický vládny program" ("Košice Government Program").
