National Institute of Water Sports

The National Institute of Oceanography, founded on 1 January 1966 as one of 38 constituent laboratories of the CSIR, is a self-governing research organisation in India that conducts scientific research and studies on the unique oceanographic features of the northern Indian Ocean. It is headquartered in Goa and has regional offices in Kochi, Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam.

Caranzalem (pronounced Caranzale the alphabet m is silent) is a neighborhood located on the west side of the city of Panaji, capital of the Indian state of Goa. It is completely located on the island of Tiswadi, one of the talukas in the state of Goa. It is known for its beach with same name.The Caranzalem Beach is located at a distance of about 5 km. from the center of Panaji by Miramar and Caranzalem. The beach is 3.5 km long which has stretches of white sand and clear water. The beach is considered safe for swimming. There are water sport facilities available and many hotels, restaurants and shacks in the area which serve Goan food and drinks. Miramar-Dona Paula road runs parallel to the beach. The principle wards are Aivao, Bazar Vaddo, Borchem Bhat, Cavialvaddo, Dando, Dona Paula, Firgozvaddo and Quevnem. The local church is named the Our Lady of the Rosary Church. It has an old chapel which is called the Sanctuary for Christian worship. The property of the church belongs to the "Fabrica" that looks after the affairs of the Church. There are several Christian groups recognised by the Church like the Society of St. Vincent De Paul (Rosary Conference), Couples For Christ and Living Waters. Our Lady of the Rosary School is one of the prominent schools in Dona Paula, Caranzalem. The Raj Bhavan and the National Institute of Oceanography are situated in Dona Paula.

Raj Bhavan (Government House) is a residential palace and fort situated in Dona Paula, Goa which serves as the official residence of the governor of Goa. The sprawling 88 acres estate is located on a cape in the Goan capital, Panjim. Known by the name "Palácio do Cabo" (Portuguese for "Palace of the Cape") until it gained official status as the residence of the governor of Goa, this palace is said to be built between the 16th and 17th century in the erstwhile Portuguese India. The fort is strategically positioned facing the Arabian sea opposite the well-preserved 17th century Forte Aguada.

International Centre, Goa is prominent conference centre, seminars venue, and cultural space in the western Indian state of Goa. It is located at Dona Paula, outside Panjim (Panjim). Its setting up has been supported, among others, by the Ford Foundation. Launched over a decade-and-half ago, it is seen as a prominent place for bringing "thought leaders" together for research and sharing of knowledge and ideas at a local, national and international level. It is known for its frequent lectures, talks and workshops.International Centre, Goa is a not-for-profit autonomous society founded in June 1987, though supported in part by the government. It was inaugurated on 18 June 1996, and is located in Goa, India. It says its vision is to "bring together thinkers, scholars, academics, achievers, sociologists, industrialists and creative people from India and around the world." It is patterned loosely on the India International Centre at New Delhi, a non-government institution that is considered one of India's premier cultural institutions and "where statesmen, diplomats, policymakers, intellectuals, scientists, jurists, writers, artists and members of civil society meet".

Taleigao Assembly constituency is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly constituencies of the state of Goa in southern India. Taleigao is also one of the 20 constituencies falling under the North Goa Lok Sabha constituency.

Taleigão, or Platô de Taleigão, is a neighborhood located in the southern part of the city of Panaji, the capital of the Indian state of Goa. It is entirely located on the island of Tiswadi, which is one of the talukas in the state of Goa. The neighborhood is known for its important campus at the Goa University.

Sharada Mandir School is a private nursery to higher secondary co-educational school in Miramar, Panaji, Goa, India. It was established in 1966 and affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.The school follows the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) up till Std.10 and is now affiliated with the Indian School Certificate for Std. 12. In the late 2000s, the school was acquired by the industrialist Dattaraj V. Salgaocar (son of Vasudev Salgaocar), who now heads the Board of Trustees as well as the Managing Committee along with his wife Dipti (daughter of Dhirubhai Ambani) and their daughter Isheta (sister-in-law of Nirav Modi).The school has a wide range of equipment and facilities, ranging from playgrounds, sand pits and yoga rooms to auditoriums and special-education centres. It also hosts events like the biennial EKTA gathering.

The Goa Business School is a 2019-launched school attached to the Goa University. It was set up following the amalgamation of four earlier-launched departments of the university—Commerce (established in 1988), Computer Science & Technology (1987), Economics (launched in 1968 through the Centre for Post-Graduate Instruction and Research at Goa and affiliated to then University of Bombay) and that of Management Studies (1988).

Miramar is the beach area of the Goan capital of Panjim, also known as Panaji and is one of the most visited beaches of Goa. It is one of the two only beaches in Panjim, other being Caranzalem beach. Many people, mostly tourists, come to this beach every day. Miramar Beach was the venue for Beach Volleyball events of the 2014 Lusofonia Games. Originally named Porta de Gaspar Dias by the Portuguese, the name was then changed to Miramar. Situated at the confluence of the Mandovi River and the Arabian Sea, it is a small beach that occasionally hosts some events. There are several educational institutions in the surrounding vicinity, including Dhempe College of Arts and Science, V. M. Salgaonkar College of Law and Sharada Mandir High School. Clube Gaspar de Dias and a popular café are nearby.

V. M. Salgaocar College of Law is a private government-aided law school situated at Miramar in Panji in the Indian state of Goa. It It offers 3 years LL.B., 5 years integrated Law course and LL.M. which is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi and affiliated to Goa University.

Goa University Library is one of the major libraries in the state of Goa, India. It houses an estimated 140,000 books and 300 journals. It also is home to special interest collections and rare and antique manuscripts, according to its official website.

St Inez creek is a creek in Panjim, in the Indian state of Goa. The creek opens up into the Mandovi River. The creek is 3.7 kilometres (2 mi) in length, with a surface area of 65,750 square metres (707,700 sq ft) with an average width of 12.6 metres (41 ft). The creek begins at the paddy fields at Altinho hill at Taleigao, Caranzalem, and the Nagahali hills of Dona Paula. Caculo Island, is located in the creek. The creek has 12 culverts that originate from the old Goa Medical College complex leading to the Campal head, the Fire Brigade, the sewerage treatment plant at Tonca, the Tambdi Mati Cumrabhat, and the El Passo hotel. According to a Portuguese plaque on one of the culverts, the creek dates back to 1829, although Historian Percival Noronha dates it back to 1647.
