Okatie (pronounced "OH-kuh-tee") is an unincorporated suburban community west of Hilton Head Island, located in Beaufort and Jasper counties, in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Okatie takes its name from the nearby Okatee River, an estuary of the Port Royal Sound. The headquarters of the Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority are located in Okatie, as are the Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence and John Paul II Catholic High School. Okatie is an unincorporated area stretching from south central Jasper County to western Beaufort County, between I-95 and SC 462. It was designated a voting precinct on March 1, 1916, by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina. Portions of Okatie have been annexed by Bluffton, Hardeeville and Port Royal. South Carolina Highway 170 (also known as Okatie Highway) is generally considered to be the main route through Okatie. Okatie has experienced predominantly low-density residential development since the 1990s, including Sun City Hilton Head, Riverbend, and Oldfield. Additional commercial and low intensity industrial development have also occurred, primarily in the Jasper County sections of Okatie. This development pattern has resulted in concerns over water quality and loss of forest habitat for wildlife. Previous efforts to incorporate the community have been unsuccessful, due in part to conflicting opinions on the future of growth and development in the area.

St. Luke's Church (Bull Hill Church; St. Luke's Methodist Church) is a historic church in rural Beaufort County, South Carolina located about four miles north of Pritchardville.The original Episcopal congregation worshipped about a half mile away in a 1786 building built on land donated by John Bull. In 1824 the present building was constructed on land contributed by John Guerard, on part of what had been Bull Hill Plantation. In 1857, the Church of the Cross was built in nearby Bluffton, and services were discontinued around that time. In 1875, the church was sold to the Methodists, who use it to the present day.The church is noted for its transitional architecture bridging the Georgian style of earlier South Carolina Episcopal churches and the rising Greek Revival style. It is one of the oldest churches in the state built for Episcopal worship, and one of the few with intact slave galleries.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Pritchardville is an unincorporated community in Beaufort County, South Carolina, United States, located between Hardeeville and Bluffton on South Carolina Highway 46. The community takes its name from nearby Pritchard Farms. Pritchardville was originally built up chiefly by settlers from Ohio.Nearby St. Luke's Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The school was opened in 2016 as a reliever to neighboring Bluffton High School, as a result of new growth and development. The school district is the southernmost district in Beaufort County. A larger K–12 campus is being constructed in the area.

Bluffton High School is a public high school within the Beaufort County School District, located in Bluffton, South Carolina, United States. Opened in 2004 as a result of new growth and development, the high school serves students in the mainland areas of southern Beaufort County, including Bluffton, Pritchardville, and Okatie. It shares a larger K–12 campus with H.E. McCracken Middle School and Bluffton Elementary School. The school was honored in 2012 and 2013 by The Washington Post High School Challenge Index as one of "America's Most Challenging High Schools".

Rose Hill Plantation House (sometimes Rose Hill Mansion) is an historic Carpenter Gothic house located on US 278 in Bluffton, Beaufort County, South Carolina. It was begun in 1858 for Dr. John Kirk and Caroline Kerk, his wife, but construction was interrupted by the Civil War and not resumed until after World War II when it was renovated and finished by architect Willis Irvin for John Sturgeon and Florence Sturgeon, his wife. On May 19, 1983, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It preserves the antebellum plantation home of Dr. & Mrs. John William (1803-1868) & Caroline (1815-1864) Kirk, a wealthy planter and physician. According to tradition, the house was spared ordered destruction during the Civil War after a Union soldier declared "this house is too beautiful to be burned".

Hardeeville is a city in Jasper and Beaufort counties in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The population was 7,473 as of the 2020 census, an increase of over 150% since 2010. Hardeeville is included within the Hilton Head Island–Bluffton metropolitan area. For many years, Hardeeville billed itself as the "Lowcountry Host" due to the prevalence of lodging and traveler-oriented facilities along U.S. Highway 17 and later Interstate 95. In recent years, the city has expanded its economic focus due to high population growth. According to Census estimates, Hardeeville posted the highest population growth rate of any municipality in South Carolina, growing 53.4 percent from 2010 to 2014.

Saint John Paul II Catholic School (John Paul II) is a diocesan Roman Catholic school in Okatie, South Carolina, United States. Founded in 2011 and opened in 2013, the school offers grades 6 through 12 for students in Beaufort and Jasper counties. The school is supported through its affiliation with the Diocese of Charleston. It will be the fourth diocesan school to be in operation in South Carolina, joining Bishop England High School in Charleston, Cardinal Newman High School in Columbia and Bishop Baker High School in Myrtle Beach. Originally called Pope John Paul II Catholic School, the school changed its name upon the canonization announcement of John Paul II. The school began operating in August 2013 with its campus to be partially completed in 2014. It is anticipated that 60 to 100 students will be enrolled in grades 7, 8, and 9, with additional grades being added each year. The school's campus is located along South Carolina Highway 170 in Okatie along the Beaufort and Jasper county line. It is centrally located between Beaufort, Port Royal, Hardeeville and Ridgeland.

Levy ( LEE-vee) is an unincorporated community located in the southern portions of Jasper County, South Carolina, United States. Levy is accessible via South Carolina Highway 315 and used to be served by the now-abandoned Seaboard Air Line Charleston Subdivision. Levy is 13 feet in elevation and is in the Eastern Time Zone (UTC -5 hours).
