Lincoln-Way West High School or LWW, is a public four-year high school located about 1.5 miles south of Lincoln Highway near the intersection of Gougar Road and Illinois Highway in New Lenox, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is the part of Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210. Students living within the Lincoln-Way boundaries of Liberty Junior High in New Lenox School District 122 and Manhattan Junior High in Manhattan School District 114 attend Lincoln-Way West.

Providence Catholic High School (often referred to as Providence, Provi, or abbreviated PCHS) is a Roman Catholic secondary school located in New Lenox, Illinois. Located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet, Providence Catholic is a private school run by the Order of Saint Augustine and is a member of the Augustinian Secondary Education Association.. The school is located at the crossroads of Lincoln Highway (also part of U.S. Highway 30) and Interstate 80.

New Lenox is a village in central Will County, Illinois, United States. It is a southwestern suburb of Chicago and an eastern suburb of Joliet. The village population was 28,060 as of 2023. New Lenox has schools like Lincoln-Way West High School, Providence Catholic High School, and Lincoln-Way Central High School.

New Lenox Township is located in the heart of Will County, Illinois, on U.S. Route 30 and Interstate 80. As of the 2010 census, its population was 40,270, and it contained 13,721 housing units. New Lenox Township has thirty-six square miles within its jurisdiction. It serves almost all of the Village of New Lenox and parts of the individual municipalities of Mokena, Homer Glen, Joliet and the entire unincorporated areas of the New Lenox community. New Lenox Township changed its name from Vernon Township on June 10, 1850. New Lenox Township provides general assistance to needy families, the fair and equal assessment of all real estate, and bridge and storm water system maintenance outside the municipality. New Lenox also provides environmental programs, mosquito abatement, transit services, senior housing, family, senior and youth service programs and the administration, maintenance and preservation of the local Marshall and Maplewood Cemeteries.

New Lenox is a commuter train station along Metra's Rock Island District line in New Lenox, a southern suburb of Chicago, Illinois. The station is officially located on 300 North Church Street, and lies 34.0 miles (54.7 km) away from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line, however parking is available between Church Street and far northeast of Haven Avenue. It is also the penultimate station along the RID line before reaching the end of the line at Joliet Transportation Center. In Metra's fare-based system, New Lenox station is in zone G. As of 2018, New Lenox is the 49th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 1,046 weekday boardings.As of 2022, New Lenox is served by 42 trains (21 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. New Lenox station was originally built by the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad in 1900. It is located just north of US 30, and is also west of a bridge that carries a former Wabash Railroad line that serves Metra's SouthWest Service line. A new station was built for that line at Laraway Road in 2006. There are no convenient transfers between these two stations. Like Laraway Road station, no bus connections are currently available.

Ingalls Park is a census-designated place and suburb of Joliet in Will County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,314 at the 2010 census. The town consists of a small neighborhood and a few businesses between Joliet's Pilcher Park and Interstate 80. It is the nearest town to Chicagoland Speedway, which hosted the NASCAR Cup Series from 2001 to 2019.

The Forest Preserve District of Will County was created by referendum on July 25, 1927, to preserve open spaces in Will County, Illinois, US. The first land acquisition was in 1930. Silver Cross Hospital is a 348-bed acute care/general hospital that was founded in 1895. The hospital was located in Joliet, Illinois, before it relocated to its new campus on February 26, 2012, in New Lenox, Illinois.

Ridgewood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Will County, Illinois, United States. It is northwest of the center of the county, bordered to the east and west by the city of Joliet. U.S. Route 30 runs along the southern edge of the CDP, leading west 2 miles (3 km) to the center of Joliet and east 3 miles (5 km) to Interstate 80. Ridgewood was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

WWHN is a radio station licensed in Joliet, Illinois, serving the Chicago metropolitan area with an urban adult contemporary format. It operates on AM frequency 1510 kHz and is under ownership of Hawkins Broadcasting Company. Because it shares the same frequency as "clear channel" station WLAC in Nashville, Tennessee, WWHN operates during daytime hours only.

Chicagoland Speedway is a 1.520 mi (2.446 km) tri-oval speedway with a curved backstretch in Joliet, Illinois, southwest of Chicago. The speedway opened in 2001 and actively hosted NASCAR racing including the NASCAR Cup Series until 2019. Until 2010, the speedway has also hosted the IndyCar Series, recording numerous close finishes including the closest finish in IndyCar history. The speedway is owned and operated by NASCAR.

Will County is one of the five collar counties of the Chicago–Naperville–Elgin, IL–IN–WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. The portion of Will County around Joliet uses area codes 815 and 779, while 630 and 331 are for far northern Will County and 708 is for central and eastern Will County.
