Near Northside is a historic neighborhood located in Northside, Houston, Texas. Near Northside is primarily occupied by people of Hispanic descent.In a 70-year period until 2015 the community had been majority Hispanic after initially being made up of German American and Italian American immigrants who settled in the period 1900-1940. It is in proximity to Downtown Houston.

The school was previously named after Jefferson Davis, the only president of the Confederate States of America.The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Houston Independent School District. The mascot of Northside is the Panther.The school also has a Hotel and Restaurant Management magnet program. The HISD board voted to give the school its current name in 2016.

The Houston Intermodal Transit Center (also known as Burnett Plaza) was a planned hub for local, commuter, and intercity transit in Houston (Texas, USA). The site is located adjacent to the campus of the University of Houston–Downtown (UHD). The center would have eventually replaced the Houston Amtrak station, as well as various bus terminals throughout the city such as Greyhound Lines.

The Burnett Transit Center is an elevated light rail station on the METRORail Red Line in Houston, Texas, United States. It was built as part of the North/Red Line Extension, and opened on December 21, 2013.It has three tracks accessed by two island platforms, one for each direction. The center track is used by northbound trains short-turning to return southbound. These trains unload passengers onto the eastern (northbound) platform, and load passengers from the western (southbound) platform. The station features a six-bay bus terminal and a "Kiss and Ride" facility at ground level. The station is located above the intersection of North Main Street and Burnett Street, which was once proposed for a multimodal transit hub prior to 2011.

Fire Engine House No. 9, at 1810-1812 Keene St. in Houston, Texas was built in 1899. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It was designed by "prominent Houston architect" William A. McMillen and was, besides McMillen's house at 510 Gray, the only surviving example of his work.The building is no longer at that address. In 1997 it was asserted to have been designed by Olle J. Lorehn, instead, and to have been demolished.

William B. Travis Elementary School is a public elementary school in the Woodland Heights area of Houston, Texas. It is a part of the Houston Independent School District (HISD). It was one of the first HISD schools to have a garden, as well as an outdoor classroom. The garden was established after a teacher received a grant from a national gardening organization. In addition to Woodland Heights, it serves sections of Norhill south of 11th Street.

American Statesmanship Park, also known as "Mount Rush Hour", is a park in Houston, Texas. Located at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Interstate 45, the park has a series of four 18-foot, two-ton busts depicting Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington. The sculptures, known as A Tribute to American Statesmanship, were created in 2008 and donated to Harris County in November 2012 by artist David Adickes.

The Union Transfer and Storage Building is a building in Houston, Texas, in the United States. Constructed in 1917, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 16, 2001.
