American Statesmanship Park

Jefferson Davis Hospital operated from 1924 to 1989 and was the first centralized municipal hospital to treat indigent patients in Houston, Texas. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The building, located in Houston's Historic First Ward, was designated as a protected historic landmark on November 13, 2013, by the Houston City Council and is monitored by the Historic Preservation Office of the City of Houston Department of Planning and Development. The property has been reoccupied by ArtSpace as the Elder Street Artists Lofts since 2005, which provides 24 live/work units for local artists to rent.The location of the former hospital has gained notoriety as a stigmatized property due to public perception of its haunted origins.Prior to the construction of the hospital building, the lot was used as the former municipal cemetery and burial grounds for the City of Houston where thousands of Confederate States Army soldiers, former slaves, and city officials were laid to rest. The municipal cemetery operated on the lot from 1840 until the mid-1890s when it fell into decay, resulting in the reclassification of the lot for use as a municipal hospital by the Houston City Council in the 1920s.

Solon Borland (September 21, 1808 – January 1, 1864) was an American physician who served as a United States Senator from Arkansas from 1848 to 1853. In later life, he served as an officer of the Confederate States Army who commanded a cavalry regiment in the Trans-Mississippi Theater of the American Civil War.

POST Houston is an entertainment venue in Downtown Houston, Texas, United States which was formerly a major regional post office - then known as Houston Downtown Post Office. The sorting facility was renamed to honor Barbara Jordan. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From 1887, the area had been developed as Grand Central Station for the Houston and Texas Central Railroad. The Southern Pacific Railroad built a new facility in 1934.

The George H. W. Bush Monument, also known as the President Bush Monument, is an 8-foot (2.4 m) bronze statue of George H. W. Bush in Houston's Sesquicentennial Park, in the U.S. state of Texas.The monument was designed by Chas Fagan. The wider project included a plaza and a wall with four reliefs depicting events of Bush's career, sculpted by Willy Wang. The privately funded project cost $1.7million and was led by David B. Jones and local immigration lawyer Charles Foster. It was unveiled in December 2004.

The Houston Intermodal Transit Center (also known as Burnett Plaza) was a planned hub for local, commuter, and intercity transit in Houston (Texas, USA). The site is located adjacent to the campus of the University of Houston–Downtown (UHD). The center would have eventually replaced the Houston Amtrak station, as well as various bus terminals throughout the city such as Greyhound Lines.

Downtown Aquarium is a public aquarium and restaurant located in Houston, Texas, United States that was developed from two Houston landmarks: Fire Station No. 1 and the Central Waterworks Building. The aquarium is located on a 6-acre (2.4 ha) site at 410 Bagby Street in downtown Houston. It houses over 200 species of aquatic animals in 500,000 US gallons (1,900,000 L) of aquariums. The complex includes two restaurants, a bar, and banquet facilities. It offers programs such as Marine Biologist for a Day, Zoologist for a Day, Sea Safari Camp, overnight stays and more. The education department works with school groups and conducts outreach programs. The Downtown Aquarium in Houston is owned and operated by Landry's, Inc. and accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Sesquicentennial Park is an urban park in downtown Houston, Texas. Established in 1989 along the banks of Buffalo Bayou, the 22.5-acre (91,000 m2) park was established in 1986 to commemorate the 150-year anniversary of the founding of the city of Houston and of the Republic of Texas.Built in two phases, the 2.2-acre (8,900 m2) entrance to the park and a 10.4-acre (42,000 m2) site that flanks Buffalo Bayou as it flows past Wortham Theater Center and the northern section of the Houston Theater District was completed in August 1989. The 8.2-acre (33,000 m2) second phase was completed in May 1998, ending the $19 million project that took 14 years to complete. The park features "Seven Wonders", a set of seven pillars illuminated from within by Houston native Mel Chin and several sculptures titled "The Big Bubble", "Site Seeing" and "Sounds from the Past", by artist Dean Ruck, who also lives and works in Houston.

The Burnett Transit Center is an elevated light rail station on the METRORail Red Line in Houston, Texas, United States. It was built as part of the North/Red Line Extension, and opened on December 21, 2013.It has three tracks accessed by two island platforms, one for each direction. The center track is used by northbound trains short-turning to return southbound. These trains unload passengers onto the eastern (northbound) platform, and load passengers from the western (southbound) platform. The station features a six-bay bus terminal and a "Kiss and Ride" facility at ground level. The station is located above the intersection of North Main Street and Burnett Street, which was once proposed for a multimodal transit hub prior to 2011.

The Wortham Theater Center is a performing arts center located in downtown Houston, Texas, United States. The Wortham Theater Center, designed by Eugene Aubry of Morris Architects, was built out of private funds totaling over $66 Million. The City of Houston owns the building, and the Houston First Corporation operates the facility.

Virtuoso is a 36-foot-tall, 21-ton outdoor concrete sculptural group by David Adickes. It was installed in 1983 on the outskirts of the Theater District in downtown Houston next to the Lyric Centre building. It was commissioned as a work that "paid homage to music, dance and performing arts".
