The Mall at Fairfield Commons, often referred to as the Fairfield Mall, is a shopping mall in Beavercreek, Ohio, United States, a suburb of Dayton. The mall was opened in 1993 and has two floors. The anchor stores are Macy's, J. C. Penney, Dick's Sporting Goods, Round 1 Entertainment, and Morris Home Furniture. There is one vacant anchor store, formerly Elder-Beerman. Located adjacent to Interstate 675, it is near a golf course, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Wright State University and the Nutter Center entertainment complex. The mall is located just south of the interstate on North Fairfield Road (Veterans Memorial Highway), a main thoroughfare through Beavercreek. It offers over 140 different shops, department stores and restaurants, including a food court.The Mall at Fairfield Commons is owned and operated by Washington Prime Group.

Soin Medical Center is a full-service hospital located in Beavercreek, Ohio, United States, next to the Mall at Fairfield Commons. It is part of the Kettering Health network. The medical center is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program.

The Nutter Center is a multi-purpose arena located at Wright State University, in Fairborn, Ohio. It mainly serves as the home court of the Wright State Raiders men's and women's basketball teams. It is also regularly used as a music venue for touring concerts and shows and for area high school graduation ceremonies.

The Boonshoft School of Medicine, also known as Wright State University School of Medicine, is an accredited medical school at Wright State University. It is located in Dayton, Ohio, United States and serves the Miami Valley region of southwestern Ohio. The school was renamed in 2005 in honor of Oscar Boonshoft who gifted $28.5 million to further medical education, research, and scholarship.

Nischwitz Stadium is a baseball venue located in Fairborn, Ohio, United States. It is home to the Wright State Raiders of the Horizon League that competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level. The facility has chairback seating for 750 spectators.The stadium is named for Ron Nischwitz and Gregg Nischwitz. Ron coached the program for 30 years, and his son Gregg played one season for the Raiders. However, he died in a 1980 construction accident. The stadium, built in 1999, was dedicated in their honor on April 12, 2000, during a Wright State game against Indiana.Baseball has been played at the current site since 1993 when campus expansion supplanted the original field. That field had been celebrated for its playing surface but lacked lighting. It was located near the current Student Union. A campus recreation field may be found near the former site today. In fall 2012, a FieldTurf surface was installed at the field.

Wright State University is a public research university in Fairborn, Ohio. Originally opened in 1964 as a branch campus of Miami University and Ohio State University, it became an independent institution in 1967 and was named in honor of aviation pioneers Orville and Wilbur Wright, who were residents of nearby Dayton. The university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees and is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". Its athletic teams, the Wright State Raiders, compete in Division I of the NCAA as members of the Horizon League. In addition to the main campus, the university also operates a regional campus near Celina, Ohio, called Wright State University–Lake Campus.

Alumni Field is the on-campus soccer stadium at Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, United States. The field was dedicated in 1999 and is so named because it was built through a gift from the Wright State University Alumni Association. The stadium seats 1,000 fans and is also used for local semi-professional, amateur, and youth soccer events.

The Beavercreek area was settled in the early 1800s. A part of Beavercreek Township was incorporated and became the City of Beavercreek in February 1980. Many Beavercreek residents work at nearby Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In 2007, Beavercreek ranked 84th in Money's Top 100 places to live.

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) is a postgraduate institution and provider of professional and continuing education for the United States Armed Forces and is part of the United States Air Force. It is in Ohio at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, near Dayton. AFIT is a component of the Air University and Air Education and Training Command.

Huffman Prairie, also known as Huffman Prairie Flying Field or Huffman Field is part of Ohio's Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. The 84-acre (34-hectare) patch of rough pasture, near Fairborn, northeast of Dayton, is the place where the Wright brothers (Wilbur and Orville) undertook the task of creating a dependable, fully controllable airplane and training themselves to be pilots. Many early aircraft records were set by the Wrights at the Huffman Prairie.
