Sachse High School

Sachse ( SAK-see) is a city in Collin and Dallas counties in the U.S. state of Texas and is part of the DFW metroplex. A northeastern suburb of Dallas, the city population was 27,103, as of the 2020 census with an estimated population of 29,042 people today. Sachse is located off Texas State Highway 78 and President George Bush Turnpike (Texas State Highway 190) and is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the Firewheel Town Center.

Firewheel Town Center is a 998,347-square-foot (92,749.5 m2) open-air regional shopping mall in Garland, Texas. The mall is located on the northeast corner of President George Bush Turnpike and State Highway 78. The mall features Dillard's, Macy's , Dick's Sporting Goods, and Barnes & Noble, in addition to an AMC Theatres. The mall opened on October 7, 2005. Although "coming soon" signs first appeared in 1984, actual construction did not begin until early 2003. It was completed in 2005 and is owned by the Simon Property Group. Unlike a traditional mall, Firewheel Town Center was designed in the new urbanism style. Similar area shopping centers include Southlake Town Square, The Shops at Legacy, Uptown Village at Cedar Hill, The Shops at Highland Village, and The Village at Allen. The Firewheel name comes from the nearby Firewheel Golf Park, which in turn is named for a flower that grows naturally in the area.

Spring Creek is a stream in Collin and Dallas counties, in the United States.Spring Creek (pronounced: /sprɪŋ kriːk/) is a 16.5-mile-long tributary of Rowlett Creek located in southern Collin County, Texas. It plays a significant role in the region's geography, history, and ecology. The creek rises in west Plano, flowing south-east passing under the Collin Creek Shopping Center, and major roads including President George Bush Turnpike, U.S. Route 75 before crossing into Dallas County in Garland, passing the Curtis Culwell Center before meeting the Rowlett Creek at State Highway 78.

Wylie High School (commonly Wylie High School or WHS) is a public high school located in Wylie, Texas (United States) and classified as a 6A school by the UIL. It is part of the Wylie Independent School District which covers south central Collin County and includes portions of the communities of Sachse, St. Paul and Murphy along with Wylie. Until the 2008 opening of Wylie East High School, Wylie High School was the only high school in Wylie ISD. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Naaman Forest High School is a public secondary school located in Garland, Texas, United States. Naaman Forest enrolls students in grades 9-12 and is a part of the Garland Independent School District. In 2009, the school was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

Liberty Grove is an unincorporated community in Dallas County, Texas, United States. Liberty Grove was a small farming community at the junction of Farm to Market Road 1880 and a dirt thoroughfare, on Doctors Creek and the South Sulphur River, south of Cooper in south central Delta County.

Garland Christian Academy (GCA) is a private preK-12 Christian school in Garland, Texas. As of 2016 it had about 340 students.Lavon Drive Baptist Church voted to establish the school in 1971 and the school opened in August 1972 with 12 teachers and 136 students. It initially had Kindergarten through 6th grade. Grades 7-11 opened in 1973 and grade 12 opened in 1974.

The Curtis Culwell Center (formerly the Garland Special Events Center) is a 6,860-fixed seat arena (8,500 full capacity) and conference center in Garland, Texas. It opened in 2005 and was designed by HKS, Inc. and constructed at a cost of $31.5 million by Lee Lewis Construction with engineering by Walter P. Moore, Blum Consulting Engineers, and RLK Engineers Inc. The arena is the property of the Garland Independent School District (GISD).

The Curtis Culwell Center attack was a failed terrorist attack on an exhibit featuring cartoon images of Muhammad at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas on May 3, 2015, which ended in a shootout with police guarding the event, and the deaths of the two perpetrators. The attackers shot an unarmed Garland Independent School District (GISD) security officer in the ankle. Shortly after opening fire, both attackers were shot by an off-duty Garland police officer and killed by SWAT.The FBI had been monitoring the two attackers for years, and an undercover agent was right behind them when the first shots were fired. The injured security guard filed a lawsuit against the FBI in October 2017, claiming the FBI was partially responsible for his injuries.The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack plot, the first time the militant group took credit for an attack in the United States. ISIL's claim of responsibility was not verified, and U.S. officials stated that the attack appears to have been inspired, but not directed, by ISIL. An online ISIL persona run by internet troll Joshua Ryne Goldberg had posted maps to the exhibition, and urged his followers to attack the event. Goldberg pleaded guilty to federal charges in December 2017. His persona was retweeted by one of the attackers on the morning of the attack, and Goldberg claimed responsibility for inciting the attack to multiple news outlets and in his plea agreement.

Downtown Rowlett station is a light rail and bus station operated by Dallas Area Rapid Transit in Rowlett, Texas (USA). It is the northern terminus of the DART Blue Line. Before rail service began in December 2012, the station was known as Rowlett Park & Ride.

Wylie Independent School District is a school district based in Wylie, Texas, United States and covers much of south central Collin County. Wylie ISD serves most of the city of Wylie, including the city of St. Paul, a portion of the city of Murphy, and the Collin County portion of the city of Sachse. Enrollment has grown to just over 19,000 students. The average student to teacher ratio is 17:1.In 2009, the school district was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.
