Økern

Grefsen is a neighbourhood in the city of Oslo, Norway.Grefsen was a part of the municipality of Aker before the Second World War, later incorporated into Oslo. Together with Kjelsås, Grefsen then formed the borough Grefsen-Kjelsås until 1 January 2004, when they became part of the new borough of Nordre Aker.The Gjøvik Railway Line goes through the area, but Grefsen Station is actually located closer to the neighbourhood of Disen. The Kjelsås Tram Line also runs through the area. The local sports field Grefsen stadion is the home field of Kjelsås IL. There are four schools in the area, Grefsen Elementary School (year 1-7), Engebråten Middle School (year 8-10), Morellbakken Middle School (year 8-10) and Nydalen High School (year 11-13). Nydalen High School used to be Grefsen High School until 2014, when it was renovated and changed name. Grefsen Church (Grefsen kirke) was consecrated in 1940.

The Church of Scientology in Norway (Norwegian: Scientologi Kirken Norge) is officially recognised as a non-profit corporation of the Church of Scientology, rather than a religious community. Despite an estimated 8,000 individuals having participated in Scientology-related courses in Norway, the active membership within the church is estimated around 100 members as of 2016.Scientology’s has one church in Norway which is situated in Oslo. The church has shifted its physical location within the city. Its previous sites have included upscale offices in central areas like Karl Johans gate and Tollbugata, and others such as Grünerløkka. It is currently located in Lørenvangen.Legal disputes involving Scientologikirken often result in settlements outside of court. In one case, the church was directed to reimburse a former member 600,000 Norwegian kroner in course fees. The organization has also engaged in an unsuccessful legal endeavor spanning six years, aimed at obtaining official recognition as a religion.Given the limited number of active members and the absence of government subsidies, the church operates primarily with income from participants who pay for individual courses.

The Alna Line (Norwegian: Alnabanen) is a 4.3-kilometer (2.7 mi) railway line between Alnabru and Grefsen in Oslo, Norway. The single track line allows direct access between the Trunk Line and the Gjøvik Line, without having to pass via Oslo Central Station. The line is electrified and is owned by the Norwegian National Rail Administration. It is exclusively used by freight trains, and allows trains on the Bergen Line to reach Alnabru Freight Terminal. The line was built along with the Gjøvik Line and was opened on 20 January 1901. The line saw some passenger traffic until the Gjøvik Line was completed to Oslo East Station in 1902. From 1909 the Alna Line has been used for freight trains from Bergen, and the line was electrified in 1961. There have been proposals to make the line part of a diagonal line as part of the Oslo Commuter Rail.

Økern is a metro station on the No 5, Grorud Line of the Oslo Metro system, situated between stations Hasle and Risløkka in the lower parts of the Grorud Valley. It is located 2.7 km (the geodesic distance) northeast of station Stortinget (the Parliament). The station is part of the original stretch of the Grorud Line, and was opened on 16 October 1966. In 2010, the station was refurbished and partly rebuilt. New platforms are fitted with snowmelt systems. The station is also located at the intersection of the metro line and the Ring 3 highway, which encircles most of the inner part of the city of Oslo. The area around Økern is dominated by private enterprises, with the Økern Næringspark office park and the Økern shopping centre in the immediate vicinity.

Oslo University Hospital, Aker (also known as Aker Hospital or just Aker) is one of the four main campuses of Oslo University Hospital. It was an independent hospital from 1895 to 2009, under the name Aker Hospital and from 2002 Aker University Hospital. Originally established as the municipal hospital of Aker, the hospital became a university hospital affiliated with the University of Oslo in 1948.

Peer Gynt Sculpture Park (Peer Gynt-parken) is a sculpture park located in Oslo, Norway. The sculpture park was created in honour of the Norwegian writer, Henrik Ibsen as a monumental presentation of one of his plays Peer Gynt, act by act.The park was established in 2006 by Selvaag, the company behind the housing development in the Løren-area and most of the sculptures are the result of an international sculpture competition. Selvaag was founded by Olav Selvaag and is a family-owned company that has placed sculptures in residential areas for more than 50 years, with over 500 sculptures in total.

Tonsen Church (Norwegian: Tonsen kirke) is a church in Oslo, Norway which was built in 1961. It is located at Årvoll in the borough of Bjerke. The church was constructed by the architects Georg Greve (architect) and Geir Grung.In the porch vestibule at the foot of the bell tower is a stained glass window, created by Bernhard Greve. It shows Jesus standing above a cross. The church bells are cast by Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry. An altar crucifix is modeled by Ståle Kyllingstad. On the back wall is a fresco illustrating the Sermon on the Mount which was conducted by Kåre Jonsborg in 1963. The pulpit and altar call is cast in cement, and the font is in teak, all created in 1961.The church hall has 400 seats and there are 200 seats in the adjacent hall. The church office is located in the basement, which also houses scouts.The church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

The Alna River (Norwegian: Alnaelva) is a river that runs through Oslo, Norway, from Alnsjøen to the Oslo Fjord at Bjørvika. It also drains Breisjøen, Steinbruvann, Tokerudbekken, and Østensjøvannet. It runs through the boroughs of Gamle Oslo, Nordstrand, Helsfyr, Østensjø, Alna, and Grorud. Large sections of the river run in culverts and the river is highly polluted, partially because it is used as a sewer drain. The Municipality of Oslo is creating linked walking trails and green spaces along the length of the Alna.

Hasle is a station on the Oslo Metro system located in the Grünerløkka borough between Carl Berners plass and Økern. It is the first outdoor station on Grorud Line after the downtown tunnel. After completion of the Ring Line in 2006, Hasle is the first station on the Grorud Line not shared with another line. There is some residential housing in the vicinity, as well as some industry.

Løren station is an underground rapid transit station of the Oslo Metro and the newest on the subway network. Serving the Oslo, Norway, neighborhood of Løren in the borough of Grünerløkka, the station is the only situated on the Løren Line. Designed by Arne Henriksen, the station is situated 27 meters (89 ft) underground. Construction of the station began in 2013 and was completed in 2016. The station is estimated to have 6,000 daily passengers. It is served every fifteen minutes by trains running along the adjoining Ring Line via the Løren Line to the Grorud Line.

Hasle is a neighborhood in the borough of Grünerløkka in Oslo, Norway. It is served by the station Hasle on the Oslo Metro. Facilities include a church and the national tennis centre of Norway.

Sinsen Church (Norwegian: Sinsen kirke) is a church center in Oslo, Norway. The church was consecrated in 1971, and is one of the larger churches in the city.Sinsen church is built in concrete. The tower structure of the church also houses offices and apartments. In the church room itself, there are 300 seats. This can be expanded with a parish hall, porch and sacristy to approx. 1000. The building also contains a hall, meeting rooms, various activity rooms and kitchens. There is also a kindergarten attached to the church.The altar decoration is 4.5 meters high and carved in wood by Torvald Moseid. It depicts the crucified Christ flanked by Mary and John. The pulpit and baptismal font are both also in wood and from 1971. The altarpiece was created by Per Vigeland. The church organ with 22 voices is created by the Brødrene Torkildsen and the three church bells by Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry.Sinsen Church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.
