Macclesfield Football Club is an association football club based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It is a phoenix club of the former Macclesfield Town F.C. founded in 1874, which was wound-up after a High Court ruling on 16 September 2020. The club began their first competitive season in the North West Counties Premier Division, the fifth step of the National League system, in August 2021, and currently competes in the Northern Premier League following two successive promotions.

Macclesfield () is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. It is located on the River Bollin in the east of the county, on the edge of the Cheshire Plain, with Macclesfield Forest to its east; it is 16 miles (26 km) south of Manchester and 38 miles (61 km) east of Chester. Before the Norman Conquest, Macclesfield was held by Edwin, Earl of Mercia and was assessed at £8. The manor is recorded in the Domesday Book as "Maclesfeld", meaning "Maccel's open country". The medieval town grew up on the hilltop around what is now St Michael's Church. It was granted a charter by Edward I in 1261, before he became king. Macclesfield Grammar School was founded in 1502. The town had a silk-button industry from at least the middle of the 17th century and became a major silk-manufacturing centre from the mid-18th century. The Macclesfield Canal was constructed in 1826–31. Hovis breadmakers were another Victorian employer. Modern industries include pharmaceuticals. Multiple mill buildings are still standing and several of the town's museums explore the local silk industry. Other landmarks include Georgian buildings such as the Town Hall and former Sunday School; St Alban's Church, designed by Augustus Pugin; and the Arighi Bianchi furniture shop. The population of Macclesfield at the 2021 census was 57,539. A person from Macclesfield is referred to as a "Maxonian".

St George's Church is a former church in High Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Macclesfield Academy is an Academy situated in Macclesfield, Cheshire. The Academy opened on 1 September 2011 following the decision of Cheshire East Council to close Macclesfield High School which had previously operated on the same site. It is built on the Macclesfield Learning Zone campus, sharing it with Macclesfield College, Park Lane Special School and various other facilities. Sponsored by Macclesfield College, the Academy is funded by a funding agreement with the Department for Education. The Academy has approximately 50 teachers and 30 support staff who together serve a population of about 650 students.

Macclesfield College is a Further Education College in Macclesfield, Cheshire which primarily offers BTEC and NVQ qualifications. The college is noted within the local area as an aerospace engineering college as it used to possess a Jetstream Super 31 for its aerospace engineering students. The college principal is Rachel Kay with Lucy Reed as the assistant principal. The college currently has an Ofsted rating of Good. Macclesfield College is situated on the Learning Zone campus, other establishments on the site include The Macclesfield Academy Park Lane School and Macclesfield Tennis Club. The Learning Zone campus is situated on the A536 in Macclesfield providing good links to Congleton, Poynton and the M6. The campus is also a 20 minute walk from the town centre and Macclesfield railway station There is also 2 bus stops outside the campus with a hourly bus service to Congleton, Sandbach and Crewe. The bus are operated by D&G Bus.

Macclesfield Cenotaph is a World War I memorial in Park Green, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It was unveiled in 1921, and consists of a stone pillar and pedestal and three bronze statues. One statue is that of a mourning female, and the others comprise Britannia laying a wreath over a soldier who had died from gassing, an unusual subject for a war memorial at the time. The memorial is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

St Peter's Church is in Windmill Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield, and the deanery of Macclesfield. It forms a team ministry with three other Macclesfield churches: St Michael, All Saints, and St Barnabas. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. It was a Commissioners' church, having received a grant towards its construction from the Church Building Commission.

The 2nd Royal Cheshire Militia was a militia infantry battalion raised in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England in 1853. Later linked to the regular Cheshire Regiment as its 4th (Militia) Battalion, the unit served in the Second Anglo-Boer War before disbandment in 1908.

Sutton Hall is a former country house to the west of the village of Sutton Lane Ends, Cheshire, England. The present building dates from the middle of the 17th century, with additions and alterations in the late 18th century, and replaced a previous manor house. It has since been converted into a pub/restaurant.
