Baldock ( BAWL-dək) is a historic market town in the North Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire, England. The River Ivel rises from springs in the town. It lies 33 miles (53 km) north of London and 14 miles (23 km) north northwest of the county town of Hertford. Nearby towns include Royston to the northeast, Letchworth and Hitchin to the southwest and Stevenage to the south.

Baldock Town Hall is a municipal building in the High Street, Baldock, Hertfordshire, England. The structure, which now operates as an arts and heritage centre, is a locally listed building.

The Knights Templar School is a co-educational secondary school with academy status located in the market town of Baldock in North Hertfordshire, England. In a February 2006 Ofsted report, the school was described as "outstanding", one of only eight secondary schools in Hertfordshire to be so recognised. It retained its "outstanding" status following a further Ofsted inspection in February 2009. The Knights Templar School gained academy status on 1 April 2011. Following an Ofsted inspection in October 2012 the school was categorised as "good" against a newer, far more demanding Inspection framework. In September 2019 the school celebrated its 80th anniversary.

Baldock railway station serves the historic market town of Baldock in Hertfordshire, England. It is on the Cambridge Line, 36 miles 47 chains (58.9 km) north of London King's Cross, and is located on the outskirts of Baldock on Station Road.

Ivel Springs is a 15.4 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Baldock in Hertfordshire. It is owned and managed by North Hertfordshire District Council, assisted by the Friends of Baldock Green Spaces.The site, which was a rubbish dump until the 1950s, has habitats including woodland, wetland and pasture. Its springs are the source of the River Ivel, and they have a wide variety of wildlife. The Site was awarded Green Flag status in 2016, 2017 and 2018. There is vehicle access to the site from North Road, and pedestrian access from Norton Road and Icknield Way (via a tunnel under the railway embankment.

Baldock Cemetery is the burial ground for the market town of Baldock in North Hertfordshire and the surrounding area. It is maintained by North Hertfordshire District Council.Baldock Cemetery opened in the early twentieth century when the churchyard of the nearby Church of St Mary the Virgin was closed for burials. Access to the cemetery is via a drive from The Sycamores, which is off Norton Road in Baldock. The cemetery is open for the burial of people of all faiths.Seven casualties from both World Wars are buried here, two from World War I and five from World War II including Flight Sergeant Cyril Ivan Walker of 49 Squadron, who was killed when the Lancaster bomber he was in crashed on take-off in April 1945; these graves are distinguished by Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstones.It has been stated that the cemetery will be full by about 2020. An attempt by The Baldock Society in 2012 to gauge whether there was local support for a new cemetery in Baldock was met with little interest.

North Hertfordshire is one of ten local government districts in the county of Hertfordshire, England. Its council is based in Letchworth. The district borders East Hertfordshire, Stevenage, Welwyn Hatfield, St Albans, Central Bedfordshire, Luton, and South Cambridgeshire.

The Weston Hills Tunnel is a 230m twin road tunnel under the Weston Hills near Baldock in Hertfordshire. It was constructed as part of the A505 Baldock bypass. A public inquiry was held in 1995, and in 2002 the government granted permission to build the road. Construction started in April 2004 and the bypass and tunnels opened on 16 March 2006 The bypass as a whole, including the tunnel, cost £43 million.The tunnel itself was constructed using a cut and cover method, during which the hill was cut away and the concrete tunnel structure then put in place. The hillside was then re-filled in over the top - see Bypass Construction Gallery. The purpose of the tunnel at this position is to reduce the gradient of the road, and to preserve the visual line of the hills and provide crossing points for wildlife such as deer. The chalk cuttings for the tunnel have become a haven for butterflies which are native to the area.

The Church of St Nicholas in Norton in Hertfordshire is the parish church for what was originally the village of Norton but which today has become a suburb of Letchworth Garden City. The present building dates from about 1109 to 1119, with additions in the 15th century including the tower. Before the Reformation it was a stopping point on the pilgrim route to the Abbey of St Albans and the shrine there.

Letchworth Garden City Eagles Football Club is a football club based in Letchworth, England. They are currently members of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One and play at Pixmore Pitches.

Norton is a small village and former civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, one of the three original villages which were absorbed into Letchworth Garden City, the other two being Willian and Old Letchworth. The village is known to have existed by 1007, with remains of the medieval settlement visible as earthworks in a field beside the church. However, the history of the village goes back even further than that. In 1901 the parish had a population of 169.

Radwell is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England. It is situated close to the A1 a little to the north of Baldock and Letchworth Garden City and is in the district of North Hertfordshire. The small 14th-century Church of All Saints is in the center of the village. The actor Nigel Hawthorne and his long-time partner Trevor Bentham lived in the village for some years until the nearby Baldock Services was built. Fearing the noise levels from the service station would become unacceptable, the couple moved to Thundridge, Hertfordshire.
