Buffalo-Lancaster Regional Airport (ICAO: KBQR, FAA LID: BQR, formerly D77) is a privately owned, public use airport in Erie County, New York, United States. It is located three nautical miles (6 km) northeast of the central business district of Lancaster, a village in the Town of Lancaster, east of Buffalo. Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned BQR by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.The runway at Buffalo-Lancaster Airport was planned to be extended from 3,199 to 5,500 ft (975 to 1,676 m), to be completed in 2010, which would have allowed it to accommodate larger airplanes and private jets. The airport is also an emergency landing site for Buffalo Niagara International Airport (handling smaller aircraft).

Wende Correctional Facility is a maximum security prison located in the town of Alden in Erie County, New York, east of Buffalo. The prison is named for this region of Alden. The prison was formerly the site of an Erie County jail and was sold to the state to fulfill the need for a maximum security state prison. The Erie County Correctional Facility was built adjacent to Wende.

The Buffalo Correctional Facility was a minimum security prison for males in New York, United States. The prison was located in town of Alden, east of the Buffalo, adjacent to the Wende Correctional Facility. As of 2012, the facility has been closed by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Warren Hull House is a historic home located at Lancaster in Erie County, New York. It was built about 1810 by Warren Hull, one of Erie County's earliest pioneers. It is in the Federal style and includes the family burial plot in the rear of the property. It is the oldest stone house in western New York and is currently owned by the Hull Family home association. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.The Hull House has scheduled Open House days during the spring, summer, and fall. This represents an increase of 7.4% from the 2010 census figure. The Clarence census-designated place occupies the southeast part of the town and roughly corresponds to a postal district with ZIP code 14031 and 14221 in the western side which it shares with nearby Williamsville. The town is named in honor of Prince William, Duke of Clarence and St Andrews (1765–1837), the third son of King George III and later king himself, as William IV.There are no incorporated villages within the town.

It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community is located on the boundary between the towns of Lancaster and Alden. Town Line is notable for having held a nonbinding vote to secede from the United States in 1861, and for having held a ceremonial vote to rejoin the United States in 1946.
