Lohr am Main

Lohr is a right tributary of the Main in Germany. Although its origins lie in the Main-Kinzig district of Hessen, most of the course of the Lohr is in the Main-Spessart district of Bavaria. Including its source river Lohrbach, it is 23.0 km long.

The Langenprozelten Pumped Storage Station is a pumped storage power station near Gemünden am Main at the Main in the under-Frankish district Main Spessart (Bavaria), which went in service in 1976. The hydro-electric power plant has an output of 180 megawatts (240,000 hp). It uses two Francis turbines. The reservoirs are connected by 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) long pipes. The maximum head is 320 metres (1,050 ft). The upper reservoir has a capacity of approximately 1.5 million cubic metres (1,200 acre⋅ft). The maximum energy store ability amounts to 950 megawatt-hours (3,400 GJ). The station produces traction current only and is an important peak load power station in the traction network for railways. The lower reservoir is fed by a creek, which is mostly dry in the summer. Therefore, if necessary, water is pumped from a further retention basin, which is situated 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) below the lower reservoir. Both dams (of upper and lower reservoir) are rock fill embankment dams with an asphaltic concrete external sealing. Coordinates are those of the lower reservoir.

Neustadt am Main Abbey (German: Kloster Neustadt am Main) was an abbey of the Benedictine Order in Neustadt am Main, Bavaria, Germany. It existed from the 8th century until the dissolution of abbeys in the course of secularization in 1803. During its heyday in the early Middle Ages, the abbey was a political power that vied for regional influence with the Prince-bishops of Würzburg, the Archbishops of Mainz and the Counts of Rieneck. Today its location is occupied by a (mostly newly constructed) monastery operated by the nuns of the "Dominican Order of Saint Catherine of Siena", also known as Kloster Neustadt. The former abbey church today serves as the Catholic parish church for Neustadt.

The Main Viaduct is a double track railway bridge across the River Main at Nantenbach, Germany. It is a continuous truss girder bridge with a main span that is 208m long, with a 12.5% slope and a radius of 2650m. The full length of the structure is 374.4m and the side spans are each 83.2m long.

Schönrain Priory (German: Kloster Schönrain) was a house of the Benedictine Order located near Lohr in the Spessart, in Bavaria in southern Germany. Few signs of the monastic buildings are visible today. The ruins that remain mostly consist of later additions when the structure served as a temporal dwelling and foresters' lodge.

Steinfeld (German pronunciation: [ˈʃtaɪnˌfɛlt]) is a community in the Main-Spessart district in the Regierungsbezirk of Lower Franconia (Unterfranken) in Bavaria, Germany and a member of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft (Administrative Community) of Lohr am Main. Spoken here is an East Franconian dialect (according to the Language Atlas of the Bavarian Library, Lower East Franconian). The inhabitants are often called Steeflder Russe in the local area.
