Phoenix Technologies and IBM developed the El Torito standard. Phoenix was incorporated in Massachusetts in September 1979, and its headquarters are in Campbell, California.

Miss Orton's Classical School for Girls was a private girls' school in Pasadena, California. The school, which was run by educator Anna Orton, opened in 1890. The school was designed to prepare girls for a higher education at a college in the Eastern United States, as most secondary schools in Pasadena at the time assumed their students would go to Stanford or Berkeley if they desired further education.

The Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine is a medical school associated with the Kaiser Permanente health system and located in Pasadena, California. The school matriculated its inaugural class of 50 students in July 2020. In November 2019, the school was renamed in honor of late Kaiser Permanente Chairman and CEO Bernard J. Tyson.Kaiser Permanente created the school to train “future physicians in 21st century medicine.” The school is using modern educational techniques and integrates the three disciplines of clinical, biomedical, and health system science. Don Carlos Court is a bungalow court located at 374–386 S. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, California. The court contains seven homes built around a central courtyard and walkway. The homes were designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style and were all built with stucco facades and tiled gable roofs. The courtyard includes a decorative birdbath and planter. Contractor Clarence Hudson Burrell built the court in 1927.The court was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 11, 1983.

The Stoutenburgh House is a historic house located at 255 S. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, California. Built in 1893, the house was designed by Los Angeles architect J. H. Bradbeer in the Queen Anne style. The house's design features a roof with many gables, multiple porches with turned columns and brackets carved by bandsaws, and patterned shingle siding. An original carriage house and barn are also located on the property. John and Mary Stoutenburgh, a prominent local couple, lived in the house; John died in 1904, but Mary occupied the house into the 1920s.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 25, 1980.

The Singer Building in Pasadena, California is a Spanish Colonial Revival building located at 520 E. Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California. Built in 1926, the building was designed by Everett Phipps Babcock and is his only surviving non-residential design. The Spanish Colonial Revival design of the building was popular in Pasadena in the 1920s. Prominent features of the building's design include a red tile roof, a stone frieze with a tiled pattern, and piers with decorative moldings. The building originally housed a Singer Sewing Machine Company showroom and has since been used for other commercial purposes.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 16, 1985.

Euclid Court is a bungalow court located at 545 S. Euclid Ave. in Pasadena, California. The court consists of eight residential units in five buildings surrounding a central courtyard. The court was built in 1921; however, one house in the court was built in 1888 and later incorporated into the court's design. The homes were designed by the Postle Company in the Tudor Revival style; their designs feature half-timbered facades, porches with brick walls, and stucco chimneys. Both gable and jerkinhead roofs were used to top the houses.The court was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 11, 1983.

The Evanston Inn is a historic hotel located at 395 S Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, California. The inn was built in 1897 and served as a smaller and less lavish alternative to Pasadena's luxury hotels. The building was designed in a combination of the Queen Anne and Colonial Revival styles, and the original section of the building features decorative shingling. In 1898 and 1905, the inn constructed additional wings due to the growth in Pasadena tourism. The inn is now the only extant wood-frame hotel in Pasadena.The inn was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 13, 1984.In 2017, the inn was restored as part of a new housing development called Evanston Court. The development received preservation awards from the City of Pasadena and the California Preservation Association.
