The school matriculated its inaugural class of 50 students in July 2020. In November 2019, the school was renamed in honor of late Kaiser Permanente Chairman and CEO Bernard J. Tyson.Kaiser Permanente created the school to train “future physicians in 21st century medicine.” The school is using modern educational techniques and integrates the three disciplines of clinical, biomedical, and health system science. The school also emphasizes equity, inclusion, and diversity; service-learning; health promotion; student well-being; advocacy and leadership; interprofessional collaboration; and global health in its curricular experiences.

Anime Pasadena is an annual two-day anime convention held during November at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California.

The Paseo is an outdoor mall in Pasadena, California, covering three city blocks with office space, shops, restaurants, a movie theater, and 400 loft-style condominiums (called Terrace Apartment Homes) above. It is located in downtown Pasadena between Colorado Boulevard to the north and Green Street to the south. Paseo Colorado is just east of and connected by a pedestrian bridge, the Garfield Promenade, to Old Town Pasadena, and west of the center of downtown. The mall is located across Green Street from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in the Pasadena Conference Center. As of 2014, the mall is currently without an anchor retail chain stores since both Macy's and a Gelson's Markets had closed in 2013.

The Pasadena Chalk Festival is an American cultural event of street painting. It was founded by the Light Bringer Project in 1993. During this festival, artists create temporary masterpieces in chalk on the streets, including original works, masterpiece recreations, movie posters and iconic scenes recreations, 3D realistic works, animation art, modern abstractions, and more. The festival is held annually in downtown within the Paseo Pasadena, California. In 2010, the Pasadena Chalk Festival was officially named the Largest Display of Chalk Pavement Art by Guinness World Records, and attracted more than 600 artists and 100,000 visitors in one weekend. Here artist can be seen in a wide range of all ages expressing there different levels of skill and appreciations for the show. The 2020 festival was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ernest W. Smith House is a historic house located at 272 S. Los Robles Ave. in Pasadena, California. Prominent Pasadena architects Greene & Greene designed the American Craftsman house in 1910. The house was one of the last designed by Greene & Greene; however, its simple design is reminiscent of their earlier work. The house's interlocking gable roof with wide eaves was inspired by the Swiss chalet style, a design which Greene & Greene often incorporated into their work. The house's design also features exposed rafter tails, a full-length front porch, casement windows, and a wood shingle roof, all typical elements of Greene & Greene designs.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 14, 1998.

The Stoutenburgh House is a historic house located at 255 S. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, California. Built in 1893, the house was designed by Los Angeles architect J. H. Bradbeer in the Queen Anne style. The house's design features a roof with many gables, multiple porches with turned columns and brackets carved by bandsaws, and patterned shingle siding. An original carriage house and barn are also located on the property. John and Mary Stoutenburgh, a prominent local couple, lived in the house; John died in 1904, but Mary occupied the house into the 1920s.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 25, 1980.

The Civic Center Financial District is a historic district composed of five buildings near the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Marengo Avenue in Pasadena, California. The Security Pacific Building and the Citizens Bank Building are located at the intersection itself and considered the centerpieces of the district, while the MacArthur, Mutual, and Crown Buildings are located on North Marengo. The buildings, which were built between 1905 and 1928, are all architecturally significant buildings used by financial institutions in the early 20th century.The Security Pacific Building, built in 1924, is an eight-story Second Renaissance Revival building. The building features an arcade loggia at its entrance and a terra cotta first-floor facade imitating pink granite.The Citizens Bank Building, built in 1914, is a seven-story Neoclassical building. The building's design includes a terra cotta facade on its first floor, Doric pilasters at the entrance and between the first-floor windows, a bracketed cornice, and a metal clock facing the intersection of Colorado and Marengo.The MacArthur Building, built in 1926, is a two-story brick building with a terra cotta front facade. The building's doorway has a two-story Ionic column on each side, and the front corners feature Doric pilasters.The Mutual Building, built from 1905 to 1909, is a two-story brick building. The first floor was faced in wood and stucco after the building's construction. The building's wooden double doors feature oval panes of glass. The Mutual Building and the Crown Building are connected by a wooden deck.The Crown Building, built in 1907, is a two-story brick building. The building's terra cotta facade was added in 1928. The second story of the building has a Beaux-Arts design with pilasters separating the windows, a cornice above the first floor and below the roof, and a parapet roof.The five buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 29, 1982.

USC Pacific Asia Museum is an Asian art museum located at 46 N. Los Robles Avenue, Pasadena, California, United States. The museum was founded in 1971 by the Pacificulture Foundation, which purchased "The Grace Nicholson Treasure House of Oriental Art" from the City of Pasadena. Grace Nicholson donated the structure to the city for art and cultural purposes in 1943 and was a dealer in Native American and, later, Asian art and antiques. It houses some 15,000 rare and representative examples of art from throughout Asia and the Pacific Islands. In 2013, the museum became part of the University of Southern California. The building was temporarily closed beginning June 27, 2016 until December 2017 for a seismic retrofit and renovation. It has reopened as of December 8, 2017 with new operating hours.The building, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1926 and designed by the architectural firm of Marston, Van Pelt & Maybury. It is designed in the style of a Chinese imperial palace and features a central courtyard with a garden, a small pool, and decorative carvings.

The Singer Building in Pasadena, California is a Spanish Colonial Revival building located at 520 E. Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California. Built in 1926, the building was designed by Everett Phipps Babcock and is his only surviving non-residential design. The Spanish Colonial Revival design of the building was popular in Pasadena in the 1920s. Prominent features of the building's design include a red tile roof, a stone frieze with a tiled pattern, and piers with decorative moldings. The building originally housed a Singer Sewing Machine Company showroom and has since been used for other commercial purposes.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 16, 1985.

Don Carlos Court is a bungalow court located at 374–386 S. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena, California. The court contains seven homes built around a central courtyard and walkway. The homes were designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style and were all built with stucco facades and tiled gable roofs. The courtyard includes a decorative birdbath and planter. Contractor Clarence Hudson Burrell built the court in 1927.The court was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 11, 1983.
