The Poughkeepsie Galleria is a shopping center on U.S. 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, New York, located just north of Wappingers Falls, and is the largest shopping center in Dutchess County. The mall is anchored by the traditional chains Macy's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Best Buy, and Target while featuring prominent specialty stores American Eagle, Build-A-Bear, PacSun, Sephora, H&M, Hollister, and Windsor. The Galleria has an area of 1,100,000-square-foot (100,000 m2) with two floors containing 123 shops and restaurants as well as a 16-screen, stadium-seating Regal Cinemas theater. The Galleria is owned and managed by The Pyramid Companies, a group who also owns and manages regional sister mall the Palisades Center in West Nyack, NY.

The Church of St. Mary is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located in Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County, New York. It was canonically established in 1845.

The Bain Commercial Building is located at the corner of Church and West Main (NY 9D) streets in Wappingers Falls, New York, United States. It is a late 19th-century brick building that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is the only intact Second Empire-style building from that period in the village. It is also one of the few historic structures in the portion of the village west of Wappinger Creek in the Town of Poughkeepsie that was once known as Channingville before it merged with Wappingers Falls in 1871. It has not been altered significantly since its construction and continues in use as multiple-dwelling residences above and business space at street level.

Mulhern House was an historic home located at Wappingers Falls in Dutchess County, New York. It was built about 1815 and was a two-story, frame double residence. Also on the property was a contributing shed. It is the only workers' residence that survived intact from the initial period of industrial development at Wappingers Falls. The building was destroyed in a gas explosion in February 1994. A residential building was subsequently constructed on the property at the end of Market St. where it intersects with Franklin and Fulton Streets. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Wappingers Falls is a village in the towns of Poughkeepsie and Wappinger, in Dutchess County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 5,522. The community was named for the cascade in Wappinger Creek. The Wappingers Falls post office covers areas in the towns of Wappinger, Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, East Fishkill, and LaGrange. This can result in some confusion when residents of the outlying towns, who do not live in the village, give their address as "Wappingers Falls".Grinnell Library, located in the village, is the sixth-oldest library in the state.

The Wappingers Falls Historic District is in the center of that village in Dutchess County, New York, United States. It is a 90-acre (36 ha) area roughly centered along South Avenue and West Main Street, NY 9D and Wappinger Creek. It includes Mesier Park in the center of the village and many adjacent residential neighborhoods, roughly bounded by Elm, Park, Walker, Market and McKinley streets. Much of the district was built in the wake of the industrialization of Wappingers Falls in the 19th century, and its styles represent a cross-section of that century. However, the contributing properties include older buildings, like the ca. 1740 Mesier-Brewer House, and newer ones like the Village Hall, formerly a post office designed under the supervision of Franklin D. Roosevelt during his presidency.

Bananas Comedy Club are two venues for stand-up comedy: the original founded in 1986 in Poughkeepsie, New York and the other opening its doors in 1988 in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. Top comedians in the business have stopped by throughout the years including Jackie Mason, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Rita Rudner, Jamie Foxx, Tim Allen, Brian Regan, Jeff Dunham, Sinbad, Caroline Rhea, Pat Cooper, Paul Reiser, Tommy Davidson, Rich Vos, John Pinette, Jim Breuer, Robert Klein, Patrice O'Neal, Bobcat Goldthwait, Glen and side kick Barbara and many more. Both clubs are still open as of September 2009. Kyle Barnet and Brandon Michael hosted their weekly show “Another Day, Another Set” from 2007-2010. Jimmy Fallon first stepped on a comedy stage at Bananas. His mother had told him about an impression contest, so Fallon came up with a routine about a commercial for troll dolls. He ended up winning the contest and after college he began touring the country.Chris Halef recorded his album No Liberals Allowed at the Poughkeepsie location.

The Dutchess Company Superintendent's House is a home located on Market Street in the western corner of the village of Wappingers Falls, New York, United States. It is a large brick residence that was built as housing for the manager of the Dutchess Company, a large local printing works, shortly after the plant was built in 1848. It is primarily in the Greek Revival architectural style, with some Gothic Revival decorative touches. In 1984 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Crown Heights is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Dutchess County, New York, United States. The population was 2,840 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. Crown Heights is in the town of Poughkeepsie.

Wappinger is a town in Dutchess County, New York, United States. The town is located in the Hudson River Valley region, on the eastern bank of the Hudson River. The population was 28,216 at the 2020 census. The name is derived from the Wappinger Native Americans who inhabited the area. Wappinger comprises three-fourths of the incorporated village of Wappingers Falls, several unincorporated hamlets such as Chelsea, Diddell, Hughsonville, Middlebush, Myers Corners, New Hackensack, and Swartwoutville, and a number of neighborhoods.

Roy C. Ketcham High School, more informally Ketcham High School or RCK, is a public secondary school under jurisdiction of the Wappingers Central School District. Located in Wappinger Falls, New York, United States, the school serves approximately 1,600 students in grades nine through twelve residing in the southwest of Dutchess County. Their mascot is the Ketcham Indian.
