Fife Lake–Union District No. 1 Schoolhouse

Fife Lake ( FYFE) is a village in southeastern Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Its population was 456 at the 2020 census, up from 443 at the 2010 census. The village is part of the Traverse City micropolitan area, and lies upon the shore of the lake of the same name.

Union Township is a civil township in eastern Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 514 at the 2020 Census, making it the least populous township in the county, and the only township in Grand Traverse County with a population of less than 1,000. Much of Union Township is protected by the Traverse City Management Unit of the Pere Marquette State Forest.

Fife Lake Township is a civil township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 1,526, a slight increase from 1,517 at the 2000 census. The township forms the southeastern corner of Grand Traverse County. The township contains the village of Fife Lake, which lies upon the lake of the same name.

Long Lake is a fresh water lake located in southwest Kalkaska County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The lake encompasses 78 acres (31.6 ha). It is located entirely within Springfield Township about five miles (8.0 km) east of U.S. Highway 131 and Fife Lake.The lake has a maximum depth of 20 feet (6.1 m) near the northern end. The lake is surrounded mostly by private residences but does have one public access boat launch along Ingersoll Road at the southern end of the lake at 44°34′06.2″N 85°18′13.3″W. The boat launch has minimal roadside parking with a loose gravel surface that is only suitable for small to medium watercraft.

South Boardman is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Kalkaska County in the U.S. state of Michigan. At the 2010 census, the CDP had a population of 536. South Boardman is located within Boardman Township.

Boardman Township is a civil township of Kalkaska County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 1,479.

Pugsley Correctional Facility (MPF) is a Michigan minimum security prison operated by the Michigan Department of Corrections Correctional Facilities Administration (CFA), located between Kingsley, Michigan and Fife Lake 25 miles (40 km) southeast of Traverse City in Grand Traverse County.Pugsley Correctional Facility sits on 180 acres (0.73 km2); within that area, 23 acres (93,000 m2) are enclosed by two 15.5-foot-high (4.7 m) fences to create a secure perimeter that houses 1,342 adult male prisoners. The facility has minimum security prisoner public works and gate pass assignments.A security vehicle patrols the property manned by an armed Corrections Officer twenty-four hours per day. In May 2016, Michigan Department of Corrections announced Pugsley would close in September of the same year as a result of declining prison population within the state.

Springfield Township is a civil township of Kalkaska County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,562 at the 2020 census.

Walton, often referred to as Walton Junction, is an unincorporated community in the northern Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. The community is located within Fife Lake Township, Grand Traverse County, and lies immediately north of the Wexford County line.

Rennie Lake is an all-sports lake 13 miles (21 km) southeast of Traverse City, Michigan, United States.

Whitewater Township is a civil township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,688 at the 2020 census, an increase from 2,597 at the 2010 census. Whitewater Township includes shores on Elk Lake and Lake Skegemog, two large lakes in the Chain of Lakes. A portion of the township is within the Grand Traverse Indian Reservation.

Spider Lake is a 450-acre (180 ha) “all-sports” lake located about twenty minutes southeast of Downtown Traverse City in Grand Traverse County, Michigan. It is part of the Boardman River watershed. Spider Lake teems with bass, bluegill, perch, pike, and crappie contained within 29 miles (47 km) of shoreline. There are several vacation rentals and small resorts all around the lake as well as jet-ski rentals and many other water sports.
