Foshay Tower

The AT&T Tower is a 464-foot (141 m) tall skyscraper in Minneapolis, located on the corner of Marquette Avenue and 9th Street South. It was completed in 1991 and has 34 floors. It houses offices of AT&T, Nuveen Investments, Field Nation, the headquarters of FICO, Fallon Worldwide, Syncada, the Norwegian Honorary Consulate General, DeWitt Mackall Crounse & Moore and other tenants. It is the 14th-tallest building in the city. A skyway connects the building to the TCF Tower and International Centre. The Foshay Tower is across the street to the north. The main floor lobby is shared with the Oracle Centre. The first and second floors contain restaurants and numerous small shops.

WUMN-LD, virtual and UHF digital channel 21, is a low-powered Univision-affiliated television station licensed to Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States and serving the Twin Cities television market. The station is owned by Media Vista Group, LLC. WUMN-LD's transmitter is located atop the Campbell Mithun Tower on South 9th Street in downtown Minneapolis.

Downtown West is an official neighborhood in Minneapolis, part of the larger Central community. It is the heart of downtown Minneapolis (and Minneapolis as a whole), containing the bulk of high-rise office buildings in the city, and is what comes to mind when most Minneapolitans think of "downtown". Its boundaries are as follows (going in a clockwise direction): 12th Street to the southwest, 3rd Avenue North, Washington Avenue North, and Hennepin Avenue to the northwest, the Mississippi River to the northeast, and Portland Avenue, 5th Street South, and 5th Avenue South to the southeast. It is bordered by the North Loop, Nicollet Island/East Bank, Downtown East, Elliot Park, and Loring Park neighborhoods. Downtown West is home to most of Minneapolis's most notable buildings like the Foshay Tower and IDS Center. Being next to the neighborhood Loring Park which has a substantial population of gay people, it is unsurprising that Downtown West has a few gay bars such as The Saloon.

The Finance & Commerce is a daily newspaper devoted exclusively to business in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis–Saint Paul) and Rochester, Minnesota. Founded in 1887, it provides coverage of Twin Cities business news in the areas of real estate, construction, transportation, technology, banking, sustainable energy, health care, and advertising. The newspaper is owned by Gannett, through its BridgeTower Media division. Finance and Commerce is the official legal notice paper for The City of Minneapolis and Hennepin County, Minnesota. Its offices located are in downtown Minneapolis in the former Campbell Mithun Tower, and it has many union employees.

Two22 is a 41-floor tower located on 9th Street and 3rd Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the fifth tallest building in Minneapolis. The building was originally named after Piper Jaffray, which subsequently rebranded to Piper Sandler Companies, which used the building as its headquarters when the building opened in 1985. In 2000, after Piper Jaffray was acquired by U.S. Bancorp and moved its headquarters to U.S. Bancorp Center, the building was renamed Campbell Mithun Tower, referencing an advertising and marketing firm that was headquartered in the building that later rebranded itself to Mithun Agency in 2014 and dissolved in 2016. In 2019, the Campbell Mithun Tower changed ownership and was renamed "Two22," styled after the building's street address.Building amenities include conference facilities, a fitness center, bike storage, underground parking, and on-site management. Two22 earned Gold-level certification through the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) program, which was developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). The tower was first certified in 2009 then again in 2014.

Sound 80 is a recording studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States founded by engineer Tom Jung and composer/musician Herb Pilhofer in 1969. Largely involved with local artists, the studio is best known for recording portions of Bob Dylan's Blood on the Tracks in 1974 and Cat Stevens' Izitso in 1977, as well as demo tapes for Prince's first album For You in 1977.In 1978, Sound 80 made the first digital audio recording to win a Grammy Award—The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's recording of Aaron Copland's "Appalachian Spring" and "Short Symphony," and Charles Ives' "Symphony No. 3."In 2020, Sound 80 was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The IDS Center is an office skyscraper located at 80 South 8th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Completed in 1972, it is the tallest building in Minneapolis, and the tallest building in the state at a height of 792 feet (241 m). It originally stood 775 feet 6 inches (236.37 m), though a 16-foot (4.9 m) garage for window washing equipment was added between 1978 and 1979. The structure rises to 910 feet (10,900 in) when including communications spires on the roof, indisputably the highest points in the city. The IDS was constructed as the headquarters of Investors Diversified Services, Inc.—now Ameriprise Financial. It also housed the headquarters of Dayton Hudson Corporation (now Target Corporation) from 1972 until 2001. The complex consists of five parts: the 57-story IDS Tower itself at 8th Street & Nicollet Mall, an 8-story annex building along Marquette Avenue, the 19-story Marquette Hotel at 7th Street & Marquette Avenue, and a 2-story retail building that was originally dominated by Woolworth's. These four buildings are joined by the 7-story Crystal Court. The 57-story IDS became the tallest skyscraper in Minneapolis when it surpassed the height of the 32-story Foshay Tower in 1972, ending that building's 43-year reign over the city skyline. Construction of the building was followed with great interest, and the topping-off ceremony was a major civic event in the city. In addition to being taller, IDS occupies a much larger footprint than the obelisk-like Foshay.

KNOF (95.3 MHz) is a non-profit FM radio station licensed to St. Paul, Minnesota, and serving the Twin Cities area. The station is broadcasts a Christian Contemporary radio format and is owned by Christian Heritage Broadcasting, Inc. KNOF's radio studios and offices are on Elliot Avenue in Minneapolis. KNOF has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 900 watts (horizontal polarization) and 820 watts (vertical). The transmitter is located atop the IDS Center.

K273BH (102.5 FM, "Hot 102.5") is a translator broadcasting the mainstream urban format of the HD3 subcarrier of iHeartMedia's KTCZ-FM. Licensed to Fridley, Minnesota, it serves the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area inside the I-494/I-694 beltway. The station is currently owned by iHeartMedia, through licensee iHM Licenses, LLC. All the offices and studios are located in St. Louis Park and the transmitter is atop the IDS Center in downtown Minneapolis.

K244FE (96.7 FM, "KFAN Plus") is a translator broadcasting the sports talk format of the HD3 subcarrier of iHeartMedia's KQQL. Licensed to Minneapolis' "Calhoun Beach" neighborhood, it serves the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area inside the I-494/I-694 beltway. The station is owned by Educational Media Foundation. All the offices and studios are located in St. Louis Park and the transmitter is atop the IDS Center in downtown Minneapolis.

RSM Plaza is a 320-foot (98 m) tall skyscraper in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Formerly known as McGladrey Plaza, it was completed in 1969 and has 20 floors. In October 2015, the building was renamed RSM Plaza after its largest tenant, McGladrey, changed its own name to RSM. It is the 30th-tallest building in the city and is located on Nicollet Mall. At the time of its completion, the building was the fifth-tallest structure in Minneapolis and the city's second-tallest post-World War II high-rise, behind Canadian Pacific Plaza. The building is skyway connected to The Metro Apartments, the Medical Arts Building and the IDS Center.The building was bought by GOLUB, an international real estate investment and development company, in December 2015. The structure has a floor area of 416,000 square feet (38,600 m2) and an 870-space parking ramp. Major tenants of the building include RSM, Clorox, Colgate-Palmolive, and Portico Benefits. RSM Plaza served as the home of the fictional WJM-TV station of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, an American sitcom that was broadcast on CBS from 1970 to 1977. The opening title sequence was filmed nearby on Nicollet Mall.

W227BF (93.3 FM) is a translator broadcasting Black Information Network programming from the HD2 subcarrier of iHeartMedia's KQQL. Licensed to Shoreview, Minnesota, it serves the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area inside the I-494/I-694 beltway. The station is owned by iHeartMedia. All the offices and studios are located in St. Louis Park and the transmitter is atop the IDS Center in downtown Minneapolis.
