Truro Highlands Historic District

The Highland Light (previously known as Cape Cod Light) is an active lighthouse on the Cape Cod National Seashore in North Truro, Massachusetts. The current tower was erected in 1857, replacing two earlier towers that had been built in 1797 and 1831. It is the oldest and tallest lighthouse on Cape Cod.The grounds are open year-round, while the light is open to the public from May until late October, with guided tours available. Highland Light is owned by the National Park Service, and was cared for by the Highland Museum and Lighthouse, Inc. until 2014 when Eastern National, another non-profit group, took over the contract to operate the facility as a tourist attraction. The United States Coast Guard operates the light as an aid to navigation. The United States Navy ship USS Highland Light (IX-48) was named after the light. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Highland Light Station.

HMS Somerset was a 70-gun third-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, built at Chatham Dockyard to the draught specified by the 1745 Establishment, and launched on 18 July 1748. She was the third vessel of the Royal Navy to bear the name. Somerset was involved in several notable battles of the Seven Years' War and the American Revolutionary War. She was wrecked in a storm in 1778 when she ran aground off of Provincetown, on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

The Highland House is a historic hotel building, now serving as a museum, located at 27 Highland Light Road within the Cape Cod National Seashore in Truro, Massachusetts. It is located in the Cape Cod National Seashore near the Highland Light in the Truro Highlands Historic District. The present two story wood-frame building was constructed in 1907 by Isaac Small, whose family had been serving tourists in the area (among them Henry David Thoreau) since 1835.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It is now known as Highland House Museum and is operated by the Truro Historical Society as a museum of local history.

The Jenny Lind Tower is a stone tower located in North Truro, Massachusetts. It is named after the 19th-century opera singer Jenny Lind, who is rumored to have climbed the tower when it was located in Boston to prevent a riot among people who were unable to attend her concert. It is located roughly between the Highland Light lighthouse and North Truro Air Force Station. It is seventy feet tall.

North Truro Air Force Station (AFS) is a closed United States Air Force General Surveillance Radar station. It is located 2.2 mi (3.5 km) east of North Truro, Massachusetts. Most of the site was inactivated by 1994 and turned over to the National Park Service, the radar site remainder becoming a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) VHF omnidirectional range/Tactical air navigation system (VORTAC) (Navaid: LFV) and radar site, part of the Joint Surveillance System (JSS), designated by NORAD as Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) Ground Equipment Facility J-53. The former North Truro AFS is the site of a radar station and several abandoned buildings including barracks, a library, a bar, a bowling alley and a family housing area located to the south. NTAFS has been redeveloped into The Highland Center. It is also the site of the Jenny Lind Tower.

The Old North Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Truro, Massachusetts. The cemetery, formerly the Old North Graveyard, was established in 1713 on the Hill of Storms where the first church in Truro was built in 1709. It remained the town's only cemetery until 1799 when the Pine Grove Cemetery was established. Old North is on US Route 6 between Aldrich Road and South Highland Road. Many individuals associated with Truro's early development are buried here, as are ship's captains. When originally laid out, the cemetery was about 3 acres (1.2 ha) in size; it was expanded in 1926 and again in 1974 and is now 5.8 acres. The oldest part of the cemetery is its northernmost section, abutting Aldrich Road. As of 2022 there are approximately 1,670 burials in the cemetery. Over half of those buried in the original "Old Stone" (north) section were less than 50 years old when they died. The cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

WRYP (90.1 FM, "Renew FM") is a radio station licensed to Wellfleet, Massachusetts, United States, that serves the Cape Cod market and broadcasts a Christian format. The station is an affiliate of RenewFM and is licensed to Horizon Christian Fellowship. The station was assigned the WRYP call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on May 9, 2006.

The Jedediah Higgins House is a historic house on Higgins Hollow Road in North Truro, Massachusetts. It is one of the least altered 19th-century Cape style houses in the Cape Cod National Seashore, and an excellent early example of that style. It is a 1+1⁄2-story post-and-beam house, whose front facade typifies the Cape style: a central doorway flanked by windows on either side. Its interior floor plan is also typical, with two rooms on the south side and one large one to the north, with a central chimney. Interior finishes have also been preserved, including wood flooring, paneling, and wainscoting.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Truro Town Hall, formerly Union Hall, is the town hall of Truro, Massachusetts. It is located on Town Hall Road, east of Massachusetts Route 6. The two story wood-frame building was built in 1848 to serve as a meeting place for several fraternal organizations, including the International Order of Odd Fellows and the Sons of Temperance. It served these organizations for only a few years, and was rented by the town for town meetings for a time before being purchased by the town. The building exhibits Greek Revival features, including corner pilasters and a deep architrave. The roof is topped by an octagonal cupola mounted on a square structure.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 as "Union Hall".

Cobb Memorial Library is a historic library building in Truro, Massachusetts. The library was established through a donation by Elisha Wiley Cobb made in memory of his parents, and was built in 1912. It is a rare example of Craftsman style architecture in the town. The building served as the town's main library until 1999, when a new building was constructed in North Truro. The building has since been converted for use by the Truro Historical Society.The library was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Truro is a town in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States, comprising two villages: Truro and North Truro. Located slightly more than 100 miles (160 km) by road from Boston, it is a summer vacation community just south of the northern tip of Cape Cod, in an area known as the "Outer Cape". English colonists named it after Truro in Cornwall, United Kingdom. The historic Wampanoag Native American people called the area Pamet or Payomet. Their language was part of the large Algonquian family. This name was adopted for the Pamet River and the harbor area around the town center known as the Pamet Roads. The population of Truro was 2,454 at the 2020 census.Over half of the land area of the town is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy, and administered by the U.S. National Park Service.
