National Road Corridor Historic District

Greenwood Cemetery is the largest non-denominational cemetery in Ohio County, West Virginia, United States. It is located at 1526 National Road in Wheeling. The cemetery is maintained and operated by the Greenwood Cemetery Association. Members of several notable Wheeling families and natives including United States Congressmen Carl G. Bachmann, Chester D. Hubbard, William P. Hubbard, John O. Pendleton, and Benjamin Stanton, as well as Metropolitan Opera soprano Eleanor Steber, Medal of Honor recipient Daniel A. Woods, and architect Frederick F. Faris, are buried in the Cemetery.

"Edemar", also known as Stifel Fine Arts Center, is a historic house and national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district includes two contributing buildings and two contributing structures. The main house was built between 1910 and 1914, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, brick-and-concrete Classical Revival mansion with a steel frame. The front facade features a full-width portico with pediment supported by six Corinthian order columns. Also on the property are a contributing brick, tiled-roofed three-bay carriage barn/garage; fish pond; and formal garden. The Stifel family occupied the home until 1976, when the family gave it to the Oglebay Institute to be used as the Stifel Fine Arts Center.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Wheeling Hospital is a 223 bed hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia. Originally founded in 1850, it is one of the oldest hospitals in the United States in continuous operation as an institution. It was founded by visitation nuns and later became affiliated with the convent of the Sisters of St. Joseph. During the Civil War, the hospital was used by the military.In the 1980s, a new hospital complex was built in the Clator neighborhood of Wheeling, and the original hospital in North Wheeling was demolished in the 1990s.

Woodridge is a historic home located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. It is a 1+1⁄2- to 2+1⁄2-story frame house clad in clapboard siding and sits on a foundation of stone and concrete. The original section was built in 1831, with additions made about 1880. It features a centered portico supported by four square columns. Also on the property is a contributing stone wall and pillars. United States Congressman Lewis Steenrod resided at the house from about 1845 to 1862.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Woodsdale–Edgewood Neighborhood Historic District is a national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district encompasses 969 contributing buildings and is primarily residential, developed between 1888 and 1945. A number of popular architectural styles are represented including Shingle Style, Queen Anne, Tudor Revival, American Foursquare, Colonial Revival and Bungalow style. The district also includes four Lustron houses. Notable non-residential buildings include the Edgwood Christian Mission Alliance Church (1932), St. John's Episcopal Chapel (1913), Mount Carmel Monastery (1915) designed by Frederick F. Faris (1870-1927), and Good Shepherd Home (1912). Also located in the district are the separately listed H. C. Ogden House and William Miles Tiernan House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Wheeling Park, formerly Hornbrook's Park, is a 406 acres (1.64 km2) park located in Wheeling, West Virginia. The park first opened in 1925. The park was originally only open during the warmer months. In 1959, the addition of an ice rink turned the park into a year-round facility. Wheeling Park High School, which was named after the park, is located adjacent to the hilltop area of the park.

Wheeling University (WU, formerly Wheeling Jesuit University) is a private Roman Catholic university in Wheeling, West Virginia. It was founded as Wheeling College in 1954 by the Society of Jesus (also known as the Jesuits) and was a Jesuit institution until 2019. Wheeling University competes in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as a member of the Mountain East Conference.

The William Miles Tiernan House, also known as the Tiernan-Riley House, is a historic home located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. It was built in 1900–01, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, L-shaped, Georgian Revival-style brick dwelling. It features two-story Ionic order pilasters that flank the one-story entrance portico. The house was built for William M. Tiernan, who was vice-president of the Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It is located in the Woodsdale-Edgewood Neighborhood Historic District.

Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy was a private Catholic all-girls school in the city of Wheeling in the U.S. state of West Virginia.

Highland Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The residential district includes 12 contributing buildings in the Highland Park subdivision. The houses were built on 18 lots carved from the former farm of Oliver Pryor between 1899 and 1939, and are representative of popular architectural styles during that period. The district includes the original farmhouse, known as the Pryor-Wilson House, built about 1852 with additions and modifications through 1922. The district boundaries encompass an area that once included a stone entrance and two homes designed by noted Wheeling architect Frederick F. Faris (1870-1927). The residents of Highland Park were prominent in the areas of steel, insurance, law, hardware, real estate, and banking.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Linsly School, formerly known as the Linsly Military Institute, is a boarding and day school located in Wheeling, West Virginia. It was founded in 1814 by Noah Linsly and chartered by the State of Virginia in the same year. The school is the oldest preparatory school west of the Alleghenies. It was originally known as the Lancastrian Academy.

Temple Shalom is a Reform Jewish synagogue located at 23 Bethany Pike, Wheeling, West Virginia, in the United States. The congregation dates from 1849, with the current synagogue building completed in 1957, as the Woodside Temple.
