Wilmington Airport (IATA: ILG, ICAO: KILG) (formerly known as New Castle Airport, New Castle County Airport, sometimes referred to as Wilmington-New Castle Airport, or to a lesser extent Wilmington/Philadelphia Regional Airport and Greater Wilmington Airport) is an airport located in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware, near Wilmington, Delaware. Owned by New Castle County and operated under a lease agreement with the Delaware River and Bay Authority, it is five miles (8 km) south of Wilmington and about 30 miles (50 km) from Philadelphia. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a non-hub primary commercial service facility.Federal Aviation Administration records say the airport had 642 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2011 and 1,064 passenger boardings in 2012. Thanks to the inauguration of service by Frontier Airlines, 2013 enplanements increased to 52,456, though Frontier ceased its Delaware service in 2015. Frontier resumed service to Wilmington in February 2021 but discontinued service again in June 2022. Avelo Airlines has since started service to Wilmington in February 2023.

White Clay Creek is an 18.5-mile-long (29.8 km) tributary of the Christina River in southern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware in the United States. It is renowned for its scenic character and is largely federally protected. The 107-square-mile (280 km2) White Clay Creek watershed is home to nearly 100,000 people and includes parts of Chester County, Pennsylvania and New Castle County, Delaware. The Pennsylvania portion still retains a rural character while the Delaware portion is more suburbanized. Sediment eroded from the rolling hills of Chester County is carried into the White Clay, probably accounting for the creek's name. The majority of the stream is in the Piedmont region which is characterized by rolling hills, plateaus, and stream valleys. The southern portion of the stream, near Newark is in the Atlantic Coastal Plain, a relatively flat area that is dotted with large tidal wetlands. The White Clay Creek empties into the Christina River at Churchman's Marsh.

WTMC (1380 kHz) is a non-commercial AM radio station. It also broadcasts on FM translator station W253CQ at 98.5 MHz. WTMC serves as a traffic advisory station, a service of the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) broadcasting in Wilmington, Delaware. There are signs posted around the Wilmington area advising motorists to tune to this station for traffic advisories. One such sign exists on U.S. Route 202 upon entry into Delaware from Pennsylvania. The service was started in 2000, when DelDOT purchased the license. WTMC is licensed as a conventional broadcasting station, not a travelers' information station, although the state has added synchronized repeater stations downstate on AM 1380 which are HAR/TIS stations, to extend the station's coverage. The HAR/TIS stations were provided by Information Station Specialists and comprise the largest network of HAR/TIS stations in the country - and the only one whose cardinal location is a former broadcast station, the former WAMS. Additional synchronized TIS/HAR repeaters are being added to the network.

New Castle National Guard Base is a United States Air Force installation under the control of the Delaware Air National Guard, located at Wilmington Airport in New Castle County, Delaware.

Joseph Tatnall House, also known as the "Oliver Evans House," is a historic home located at Newport, New Castle County, Delaware. The house is alternatively named after Newport's favorite son Oliver Evans (1755-1819), although he had no apparent historical association with it.It is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay gambrel-roofed brick building in the Georgian style. The oldest section dates to about 1750, and are the two easternmost bays. The other three bays were added later in the 18th century. A 1+1⁄2-story, gambrel-roofed ell and small one-story wings were added about 1915. The 1915 renovations were by the Krebs Pigments and Chemical Company, which carried out an extensive expansion of its facilities and used the house for administrative offices. The plant was acquired by the E. I. Du Pont de Nemours & Co. in 1929. In 1984, DuPont sold the plant to Ciba-Geigy; the plant was spun off to Ciba Specialty Chemicals in 1997 and it, and the house, were owned by the BASF branch, BASF Colors & Effects, until the branch was sold to Sun Chemical in 2021. Today, Sun Chemical Colors & Effects is the owner of the house. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Galloway-Walker House is a historic home located at Newport, New Castle County, Delaware. The original section was built 18th century, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay, brick dwelling with a gambrel roof. The house was expanded with a frame addition to add a fourth bay in the late-19th century. It is a hall-parlor plan dwelling.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Newport Railroad Station was a historic railway station located at Newport in New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1908 and was a 44 feet, 4 inches, long, one-story frame building in the Bungalow / American Craftsman style. It had a large overhanging hipped roof with exposed rafter ends. It was built by the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad and closed in the late 1940s. It was demolished between 1995 and 2002. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. A transportation study considered the location for a new commuter rail station along SEPTA Regional Rail's Wilmington/Newark Line during the mid-1990s.

Hares Corner is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. Hares Corner is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 13/U.S. Route 40 and Delaware Route 273, west of New Castle and immediately south of Wilmington Airport.

Newport is a town in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. It is on the Christina River. It is best known for being the home of colonial inventor Oliver Evans. The population was 1,055 at the 2010 census. Four limited access highways, I-95, I-295, I-495, and Delaware Route 141 intersect within one mile (1.6 km) of the town.

Silview is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. Silview is located along Delaware Route 4, west of Newport.

Lewis Weldin House was a historic home located at Newport, New Castle County, Delaware. It was a two-story gable-roofed brick building, seven bays wide. It was built in the late 18th century as a residential/commercial building, and renovated in 1863 by Lewis Weldin to serve as his residence. The building was demolished between 2007 and 2009. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Newport National Bank is a historic bank building located at Newport, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1864, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five bay by three bay, brick building with a gable roof. It has a two-story service wing. The building was renovated in 1927 in the Colonial Revival style. The buildings contained both a residence and the bank, reflecting bank rules which required that the cashier and family reside in the building as a security measure.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
