Waikato Stadium

The Hamilton Street Circuit was a temporary street circuit in Hamilton, New Zealand. From 2008 to 2012 it hosted the Hamilton 400 as part of the V8 Supercars championship. From 2010 to 2012, ITM, New Zealand's largest group of independent trade building supplies, sponsored the race and it became known as the ITM 400.

Whitiora is a suburb in central Hamilton in New Zealand. The suburb is home to Waikato Stadium, formerly Rugby Park. It is a major sporting and cultural events venue in Hamilton with a total capacity of 25,800. The stadium is a multi-purpose facility, though used mainly for rugby union. Many of Hamilton's hotels are in Whitiora, along the main road from the north.

Hamilton North is a suburb in central Hamilton in New Zealand. It was not depicted a suburb until there was a need to distinguish between the different parts of the Hamilton CBD. The suburbs of Hamilton Central and Hamilton North were divided in 1963.

Seddon Park is a cricket ground in Hamilton, New Zealand. It is the fourth-largest cricket ground in the country, and is renowned for its "village green" setting, affording a picnic atmosphere for spectators.

Fairfield Bridge is a tied-arch bridge on the Waikato River in Fairfield, Hamilton, New Zealand. It is one of six bridges in the city. It spans from River Road, on the east bank of the river, to Victoria Street, on the west side.It was registered as a Category I 'Historic Place' with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust on 30 August 1990. The Great Race starts just north of the bridge, with the rowers passing under it during the race. There were days when drovers would drive stock over the main Fairfield Bridge to Frankton saleyards.

Whitiora Bridge is a prestressed concrete box girder bridge in Hamilton, New Zealand, spanning the Waikato River. It cost $2.35m, or $3.4m including the approach roads, and was opened at the start of a weekend of Centennial celebrations, on 11 February 1978, by representatives of Māori, Government and City, Dame Te Atairangikaahu, Venn Young and Ross Jansen.Whitiora Bridge was also a name once used for the Victoria St bridge over the Waitawhiriwhiri Stream, just to the north in Whitiora.A 1931 study looked at four possible bridges between the current Whitiora and Claudelands bridges, ranging in length from 430 ft (130 m) to 540 ft (160 m). The plans were shelved in 1933 when it was agreed to contribute 25% of the Fairfield Bridge cost.The 1969 Hamilton Transportation Study proposed the bridge, which was designed by Murray North Partners (who also designed Pukete sewer bridge and Rangiriri bridge) and built by Rope Construction Ltd (who also built Rakaia Bridge). It is on Taupō pumice alluvium and carries Boundary Rd at a 25 degree skew over the river and River Rd. At 260 m (850 ft), that makes it significantly longer than 133 m (436 ft) Claudelands, or 139 m (456 ft) Fairfield, but the alignment minimised tree damage and lined up with a new extension of Boundary Rd from Mill St/Ulster St. The east end of Boundary Rd was shown on the 1879 map of Claudelands, In 1915 there was a complaint about its lack of drainage and, in 1933, Jesmond Park was laid out at its river end, later crossed by the bridge.The bridge rests on four 1.8 m (5 ft 11 in) diameter octagonal piers, sunk 30 metres (98 ft) below the river, which are slightly narrower than the 5 spans of box girders. Sliding hinge joints in the landward spans give earthquake protection. Hydraulic shock transmission at the expansion joints will keep the sections of the bridge together in an earthquake. Cycle Action Waikato complained in 2014, after the 2 traffic lanes, cycle tracks and footpath were converted to 3 traffic lanes and a footpath in 2006. The City's 1972 design brief, required up to 4 traffic lanes. The bridge carries about 200 cyclists a day and a clip-on cycle lane has been considered, with $1m budgeted for 2028.During its design and construction the bridge was known as the Boundary Road Bridge and is still often referred to as such. 'Whitiora' was selected from a public suggestion, derived from 'Whiti', the call of the pipiwharauroa, and 'ora', meaning life, or health.Miropiko pā, beside River Rd, just south of the bridge, is the best preserved of a number of Hamilton pā sites.

Maeroa is a suburb in western Hamilton in New Zealand. Originally an outlying suburb, it became part of Hamilton City in 1925 with the second boundary extension.

River Road is a residential suburb of Hamilton, sited on the eastern bank of the Waikato River. The namesake road runs from Claudelands Bridge north to Pukete Bridge and beyond, to Ngāruawāhia, but the main part of the suburb is between Boundary Road and Donny Park. Properties close to the river are much more expensive than those further away. Most of River Road was shown on an 1865 map, though it was some years later before it was built and, by 1866, only one bridge had been built.A walking path runs along the river bank, but it does not cover the entire length of the area.

Hamilton railway station serves the city of Hamilton in the Waikato region of New Zealand. It is located in the suburb of Frankton, hence the station's former name Frankton Junction, its name for most of its existence. The station is a Keilbahnhof, located at the junction of the North Island Main Trunk (NIMT) and East Coast Main Trunk (ECMT) lines. The station is served by the regional Te Huia service, which runs to Auckland via Rotokauri Transport Hub and Huntly railway station twice daily in the morning, with return services in the evening and by the 6-days a week, Northern Explorer passenger service, between Auckland and Wellington.

The State Theatre opened in 1932 on the corner of Victoria and London Streets in Hamilton, New Zealand. The movie theater remained in operation under that name until 1964 when, after a 10½-week renovation, it reopened as the Carlton Theatre and operated under that name until the early 1990s. After the Village Five cinemas opened in the Centre Place shopping mall in 1992, the State (along with many Hamilton theatres) closed. The building was used by the Fountain City Christian Church for several years thereafter. The building was sold in 2001 to Bayleys Real Estate; while the building still stands, little remains of its original appearance.

Frankton is a central suburb of the city of Hamilton, New Zealand. It is the site of the city's passenger railway station, a major industrial-commercial stretch of State Highway 1C, and a commercial shopping area. Frankton Borough Council was formed in 1913, but merged with Hamilton in 1917, after a poll in 1916.

Hamilton Central was the name of a now-defunct railway station on the East Coast Main Trunk line which runs through the city of Hamilton in the Waikato region of New Zealand. The station was located in Hamilton's CBD and was made an underground station for the latter years of its existence before being closed. The underground platform still exists.For most of the time since a station opened on the site in 1879, it was named Hamilton. It had closed to regular passenger services when the present Hamilton station opened in 1975, so there was little need for formal renaming. There have been several proposals to reopen the station, often using the name 'Hamilton Central'.The East Coast Main Trunk line is still well used by freight trains. In 2018, 163 trains a week passed through, 36 between 8am and 5pm weekdays, 90 of them outside those hours and 37 at weekends.
