Dr. E. H. Ward Farm is a historic home and farm located near Bynum, Chatham County, North Carolina. The main house was built in sections during the mid-19th through early-20th century beginning about 1840. The earliest section is a 1+1⁄2-story, gable-roofed, two room log structure, that forms the rear of the main section. The main section was built about 1870, and is a one-story, gable-roofed frame structure with a simple gable-front porch. A one-story board-and-batten rear ell was added about 1900. Also on the property are the contributing office of Dr. Ward, carriage house and gear room, board-and-batten barn and log cribs, smokehouse and pen, and a small brick well house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Woods Charter School is a charter school in Chatham County, North Carolina. Founded in 1998, Woods Charter School is a North Carolina public charter school, serving approximately 500 students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. In 2007, private funding was secured to construct a new school building, and in August 2008, Woods Charter School moved to its current location. Concurrently with the building project, The Woods Charter School Foundation, Inc. was established to raise funds for outfitting the building and meeting the ongoing needs of the school. During the 2016–2017 school year, the school constructed a new third science lab to complement the two existing science labs in the high school wing. The elementary school has approximately 32 students per grade level and average class sizes of 16. Pittsboro is a town in Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 3,743 at the 2010 census and 4,537 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Chatham County.The town was established in the late 18th century, shortly after the American Revolution, as the county seat for the newly formed Chatham County. In the years leading up to the American Civil War, the economy was dominated by small-scale farms that relied heavily on enslaved labor, and in the aftermath of the civil war, racial tensions were high, and the town was noted for a number of lynchings and other racial violence in the late 19th century. Industrialization came to the community in the late 19th century, as a number of rivers cross the area providing locations for mills and factories. Economic and population growth would continue into and throughout the 20th century. As industry moved away from the community, it has in the 21st century transitioned into a bedroom community for the nearby cities of the Research Triangle region.

The main house was built about 1887, and is a two-story Italianate / Queen Anne style gable-and-wing frame dwelling. It features a gabled wing with one-story bay window and a one-story porch across the main block. Also on the property are the contributing original granary and smokehouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The house was renovated in 1858 and a two-story wing added.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is located in the Pittsboro Historic District.
