The Good Hope Centre in Cape Town, South Africa (1976) by Pier Luigi Nervi, is an exhibition hall and conference centre, with the exhibition hall comprising an arch with tie-beam on each of the four vertical facades and two diagonal arches supporting two intersecting barrel-like roofs which in turn were constructed from pre-cast concrete triangular coffers with in-situ concrete beams on the edges.

Trafalgar High School is a public English medium co-educational secondary school in District Six of Cape Town in South Africa. It was the first school built in Cape Town for coloured and black students. The school took a leading role in protesting against apartheid policies. It celebrated its centenary in 2012 and is still running.

Devil's Peak Estate is a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa in the area known as the City Bowl. It is sandwiched between Vredehoek and Zonnebloem on the slopes of Devil's Peak. According to the 2011 census it has a population of 1,859 residents in an area of 0.46 square kilometres (0.18 sq mi).Devil's Peak is situated adjacent to the M3 expressway (De Waal Drive changed to Philip Kgosana Drive). The name Devil's Peak is descriptive of its location as this is the closes suburb to the mountain peak of the same name. It is derived from a folklore story about a pipe smoking competition between a pirate named Van Hunks and the Devil. To this day when a cloud forms around the mountain people will say that "the Devil and van Hunks are at it again". Devil's Peak is knows as one of the windiest places in the city bowl. It is served by route 101 of the MyCiTi bus service. Devil's Peak is a quiet neighbourhood often considered a sub-suburb of Vredehoek. It also falls under the Neighbourhood Watch community called DPV which stands for Devil's Peak & Vredehoek. The area has access to the Table Mountain Reserve where the public has access to mountain trails. These are frequented by hikers and Mountain bikers. Every few years the area comes under threat of wildfires in which properties have been damaged. However a strong community program ensures that evacuation processes and destructive fires are kept under control.

The Castle of Good Hope (Dutch: Kasteel de Goede Hoop; Afrikaans: Kasteel die Goeie Hoop) known locally as the Castle or Cape Town Castle is a bastion fort built in the 17th century in Cape Town, South Africa. Originally located on the coastline of Table Bay, following land reclamation the fort is now located inland. In 1936 the Castle was declared a historical monument (now a provincial heritage site) and following restorations in the 1980s it is considered the best preserved example of a Dutch East India Company fort.

Harold Cressy High School is a secondary school in District Six of Cape Town in South Africa. It was founded in January 1951 as the Cape Town Secondary School. The school has played a substantial role in South African history during the apartheid period and the building is identified as an important landmark.

The Fugard Theatre, also known as The Fugard, was opened in the District Six area of Cape Town, South Africa in February 2010. The Fugard Theatre, as an artistic producing and receiving house, closed permanently in March 2021. After commissioning and underwriting the construction of the theatre in 2009 and 10 years of philanthropic support and producing involvement, the founding producer of the Fugard, Eric Abraham, returned the building that housed the Fugard Theatre complex to its freehold owner, The District 6 Museum. The building was handed back with two fully equipped auditoria – the Main Theatre and The Sigrid Rausing Studio – in the hope that it will be able to be used for the financial benefit of the Museum and the memory of District Six and its community.

District Six Museum is a museum in the former inner-city residential area and, District Six, in Cape Town, South Africa in an old Methodist church. District Six Foundation was founded in 1989 and the museum in 1994, as a memorial to the forced movement of 60,000 inhabitants of various races in District Six during Apartheid in South Africa in the 1970s.The floor of the museum is covered with a big map of the district with hand written notes of former inhabitants, which indicate where their houses were located. One former resident is jazz musician, Abdullah Ibrahim, better known by the name Dollar Brand. Other pieces in the museum are old traffic signs, exhibits of historical moments and lives of families from the area, historical declarations, and exhibits about the demolition. Furthermore, the museum offers programmes for current inhabitants to help develop the district. The museum is dedicated to the construction of housing, environmental planning, and the organisation of music, literature, and art activities, with the active involvement of the public. The museum's goal is to join people into a community where there is respect for dignity, identity and the co-existence of different races.In 2003, the museum was honoured with a Prince Claus Award from the Netherlands.

The Redoubt Duijnhoop was a square demi-bastioned clay and timber Redoubt built fort constructed at the mouth of the Salt River, leading into Table Bay, South Africa in January–February 1654. It formed part of the defences of the Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie 'VOC' replenishment station, which had been established under Jan van Riebeeck in 1652. The purpose of the station was to supply ships travelling between the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies. The redoubt was armed with two 12-pounder guns, and on 22 April 1654, Van Riebeeck informed the VOC's directors that "in addition to the Fort de Goede Hoop, a redoubt named Duijnhoop standing at the Salt River for the protection and reinforcement of this Table Bay, has been fully placed in a position of defence." In addition to covering the approach to the Salt River mouth, Duijnhoop served as a signalling station to warn the Fort of approaching ships. By 1661, Duijnhoop had been abandoned, and fallen into disrepair. It was repaired after a warning that a French fleet might pass the Cape, and a second redoubt, named Santhoop, was built nearby. By 1666, however, both had been allowed to fall into disrepair again. Duijnhoop was demolished in 1672. Duijnhoop is sometimes confused with the Fort de Goede Hoop.

Central Library Cape Town is a public library in Cape Town, South Africa. It is one of 104 libraries within the City of Cape Town Library and Information Services.Central Library includes lending and reference services as well as specialised art and music sections. There are 90 plus computers plus free wi-fi for library members. The library offers books, cds, DVDs, audiobooks and magazines for loan. It is the only public library in Cape Town with books in all 11 official languages and also has books in foreign languages.

Strand Street is one of the main streets in the central business district of Cape Town, South Africa. It runs northwest-southeast through the centre from Green Point to Woodstock, passing the Golden Acre shopping centre, the Cape Town railway station, the Lutheran Church in Strand Street, the Koopmans-de Wet House, and the Castle of Good Hope. Originally, in the vicinity of the Castle, Strand Street ran along the Table Bay shore - "strand" being the Dutch and Afrikaans word for "beach" - but land reclamation to create the Foreshore and the modern Port of Cape Town has moved the shoreline about a kilometre to the northeast.East of the city centre, Strand Street passes under the N2 freeway, to which it is connected by ramps. It continues as New Market Street and then Albert Street, eventually becoming Voortrekker Road, the original road route from Cape Town to Bellville and the interior. West of the centre it becomes High Level Road to Sea Point.

Vredehoek (Afrikaans: "corner of peace" or "peace corner") is a suburb of Cape Town, South Africa located in the City Bowl, on the slopes of Table Mountain, between Devil's Peak Estate and Oranjezicht. The suburb was proclaimed after the first world war and immigrants from many European countries settled here after peace was declared. It is popular among dual income households yet to have children, and the suburb has been going through an urban revival as older blocks of flats are being replaced with high-quality apartments.The area has an established Neighbourhood Watch community known as DPV, which includes the adjacent suburb of Devil's Peak Estate. There are a series of community amenities such as parks, restaurants, cafes, a library and access to walking trails on the Table Mountain for the public in Vredehoek. For grocery shopping most people will visit the Gardens Centre Shopping Mall in neighbouring suburb of Gardens or the Kwikspar on Derry street.
