Cambridge University Boat Club

Goldie Boathouse is the fitness and administrative base of Cambridge University Boat Club (CUBC), located on the River Cam in Cambridge, England. It was originally the University boathouse and was named after CUBC's President J. H. D. Goldie, who also gave his name to the University's second crew.The boathouse was formerly used for the storage of boats. This is no longer the case, and the area that used to be the boat bays has now been converted to a gymnasium where ergometer and weight training takes place. The administrative offices and a physiotherapy treatment centre are also based there, as is the Club's Sports Science Research and Development programme. The boathouse includes a rowing tank for indoor training on water.The boathouse is the oldest extant boathouse in Cambridge, built in 1882, and is listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England.

St Catharine's College Boat Club (SCCBC or Catz) is the rowing club for members of St Catharine's College, Cambridge, England. In the Lent Bumps, the men's first VIII resided largely near the boundary of the 1st and 2nd divisions, but spent a few years in the top-10, reaching as high as 6th in the 1930s and in 1968, and more recently, peaking at 9th in 2002. They now reside in the 1st division. In the May Bumps, St Catharine's spent most of the time before the 1940s in the 2nd division, but rose to 4th in 1947 and 1961, with the 2nd VIII reaching the 1st division in 1963. In 1967, the 2nd VIII actually managed to bump the 1st VIII on the second day, but the 1st VIII bumped back the following day. Since then, the 1st VIII have spent most of the time in the middle to lower half of the 1st division. Between 1998 and 2004, the men's 1st VIII were bumped only once and rose to 2nd position, partially helped by having many oarsmen trialling for university crews, but St Catharine's have never yet taken a headship. They are now sitting 5th on the river (2013). The first women's VIII first raced in 1980, and in the Lent Bumps have spent most of the time since 1990 in the 1st division, ranking as high as 6th in 1997, but had fallen into the 2nd in 2003 and 2006. Since then have returned to the center of the first division. In the May Bumps, St Catharine's 1st women's IV rose quickly to 3rd in 1989. When the races were reorganised following the change to eight-oared boats, the 1st women's VIII were placed in 8th. In 2002, they managed to get to 7th, the highest they've yet managed in eight-oared boats in the May Bumps, but the following three years saw St Catharine's fall to the top of the 2nd division. 2006–07 saw a turn-around, and they have since climbed back towards the middle of the top division.

Homerton College Boat Club (HCBC) is the rowing club for members of Homerton College, University of Cambridge. HCBC colours are navy blue with white trim, and HCBC boats can be identified by white blades with a single navy blue stripe towards the tip of the spoon. The Club exists to provide the opportunity for members of Homerton College to row, cox, coach and compete in various rowing events within and outside of Cambridge. The Club is open to all members of the College, and most members of HCBC have no prior rowing experience before joining. Further, many have rowed for the first time with HCBC and later gone on to row for the University. The competitive focus each year is to maintain and improve the Club's positions in May, and Lent, Bumps. Wider aims are to increase participation in rowing, to allow members to challenge themselves, test their physical and mental limits, to learn how to develop and improve a team, rowing as crew to the maximum of the collective potential, harnessing those gold-dust experiences of synergy, and above all to have fun and build friendships whilst doing so. In 2019, HCBC moved into a new boathouse, co-funded by and shared with City of Cambridge Rowing Club, and St Mary's School, Cambridge.

The First and Third Trinity Boat Club is the rowing club of Trinity College in Cambridge, England. The club formally came into existence in 1946 when the First Trinity Boat Club and the Third Trinity Boat Club merged, although the two clubs had been rowing together for several years before that date. The first boat club associated with Trinity was formed in 1825 and came to be known as First Trinity in 1833 when the Third Trinity Boat Club was formed (a Second Trinity Boat Club was formed in 1831 but did not have a continuous existence until 1840). Membership of Third Trinity was originally confined to Old Etonians and Old Westminsters. Members of Third Trinity were allowed also to be members of First or Second Trinity and often were. The boat club also gives its name to Trinity College's May Ball, which is the oldest such event in Cambridge and originates from the club's celebrations after the victories in the May Bumps.

Newnham College Boat Club is the rowing club for members of Newnham College, Cambridge. The club has a year-round senior squad and invites all members of the college to learn to row by joining the novice squads during Michaelmas or Easter terms. In the Lent Bumps, the 1st VIII has rarely finished outside the top nine places, taking the headship in 1977, 1982, 1983, 2019 and 2022. In the May Bumps, the 1st IV and 1st VIII has never finished outside the top ten places, taking the headship in 1975, 1976, 2003, 2019 and 2022.

Jesus College Boat Club (often abbreviated to JCBC) is the rowing club for members of Jesus College, Cambridge. It is the most successful Cambridge college boat club, holding the most headships between both sides of the club in both the May bumps and the Lent bumps. It has also had numerous successes at other races (such as Henley Royal Regatta) and notable alumni, such as Steve Fairbairn. Jesus men have been head of the Lent Bumps on 39 occasions (finishing Head on 159 days) and head of the May Bumps on 24 occasions (finishing Head on 98 days) - more than any other boat club, although Jesus men have not been head in either event since 1974. Jesus also held the headship of the early races (before the Lent and May bumps became separate events) for 11 consecutive years between 1875 and 1886 - a feat which has never been equalled.Jesus Women have been head of the Lent Bumps on 6 occasions, and again head of the May bumps on 7 occasions, ranking themselves very highly amongst the Cambridge colleges. In recent years they have been very successful, being Head of the Lents in 2023 and Head of the Mays in 2017– 2018 . Jesus also run the Fairbairn Cup, the biggest race on the Cam (other than bumps), and is named after the alumnus Steve Fairbairn.

St Edmund's College Boat Club (SECBC) is the boat club for members of St Edmund's College, Cambridge, England. St Edmund's College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge in England. The boat club has considerable successful in recent years, for which its men's first boat (M1) has continually bumped in both Lent and May Bumps races. SECBC was founded in the 1970s and uses the Cambridge '99 RC boathouse for training and storing its boats. The club has two boats: 'Lily', a men's eight and 'Dotty', a women's eight.

Trinity Hall Boat Club (THBC) is the rowing club of Trinity Hall, a college of the University of Cambridge. Founded in 1827 it is amongst the oldest college boat clubs in Cambridge, England. Historically, it is the most successful Cambridge college at Henley Royal Regatta with a number of wins, including winning all the events but one in 1887. The club has produced numerous rowers for the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race and various national teams, including Tom James, who stroked the 8+ from Great Britain to the B-final in the 2004 Olympics in Athens and won gold with the 4- at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. The club colours are black and white, its nickname is "Black and White army", its motto "Our power's a crescent" (the college crest showing a crescent ermine. The motto used to be "Our powers are crescent" taking the old meaning for crescent meaning growing – i.e. a crescent moon is a waxing moon), and its supporters shout "Row Hall" to encourage the rowers. Unlike other boat clubs, whose scarves are derived from their college scarves, its scarf is made in a black and white tartan. THBC has a senior rowers' (alumni) club called The Black and White Society.

City of Cambridge Rowing Club (CCRC) is the oldest 'town' (or CRA) rowing and sculling club in Cambridge, UK, and with about 300 members, it has one of the largest active rowing memberships in the region. The club's colours are dark blue, with a band of claret sandwiched between two bands of 'old gold'. The club has one of the most successful historic records in town rowing as the only club to hold the men's headship for ten successive years (between 1951 and 1961), and its recent record includes winning the John Jenner trophy as the most successful club in Town Bumps for four successive years (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), with its women having reached "Head of the River" in 2008. The club also won the Lester Trophy (for Intermediate Club Coxed Fours) at Henley Women's Regatta in 2010.The club has squads for all ages and abilities, including juniors, men, women, masters and novices.

Cambridge '99 Rowing Club, generally referred to as 'Nines', is based on Kimberley Road in the historic City of Cambridge, UK.

The Cambridgeshire Rowing Association (CRA) is based in Cambridge, UK. It is the administrative body for non-college rowing in Cambridge and since 1868 has organised races such as the CRA Bumps as well as looking after the interests of local rowing by providing facilities and regular meetings to discuss issues.

Strawberry Fair is a local festival of music, entertainments, arts and crafts which has been held in Cambridge, England, since 1974. The fair is held on Midsummer Common on the first Saturday in June. It is completely run and organised by volunteers from all different backgrounds. It is believed to be one of the UKs biggest free volunteer run festivals which is still open to the public.It has been held since 1974 except for 2010, when it was cancelled due to licensing issues, and 2020 and 2021 when it went virtual due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. From 2011 to 2019 and returning in 2022, where rough festival attended numbers reached 30,000 people. Some stages, such as Green Machine, were absent in 2022 due to crowding and crowd management issues. First Aid provision is usually provided by St John's Ambulance and there is an on-site welfare tent. The fair has a perimeter fence erected around the festival for crowd control purposes as well as checkpoints at the gates for excessive alcohol, drugs and weapons. As of 2022 the current rule for alcohol is no spirits and only four cans of alcohol per person.
