Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital

St Vincent's Plaza is a major interchange of the Melbourne tram network, serviced by Yarra Trams routes 11, 12, 30 and 109. It is located in the wide centre median of Victoria Parade, wedged between the intersections of Gisborne Street and Brunswick Street. The interchange was one of Melbourne's first level access superstops to be constructed, opening on 24 July 2002 as part of the 'Tram 109' project. It is named after the adjacent St Vincent's Hospital.

The Cathedral Church and Minor Basilica of Saint Patrick (colloquially St Patrick's Cathedral) is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia, and seat of its archbishop, currently Peter Comensoli. In 1974 Pope Paul VI conferred the title and dignity of minor basilica on it. In 1986 Pope John Paul II visited the cathedral and addressed clergy during his Papal Visit. The cathedral is built on a traditional east–west axis, with the altar at the eastern end, symbolising belief in the resurrection of Christ. The plan is in the style of a Latin cross, consisting of a nave with side aisles, transepts with side aisles, a sanctuary with seven chapels, and sacristies. Although its 103.6-metre (340 ft) length is marginally shorter than that of St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, St Patrick's has the distinction of being both the tallest and, overall, the largest church building in Australia.

Eastern Hill Fire Station is the central fire station of Melbourne, Victoria, located on the corner of Victoria Parade and Gisborne Street at one of the highest points in the City. The building has been recognised as historically significant by the Heritage Council of Victoria and is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. It no longer operates as a fire station but holds the Fire Services Museum of Victoria. Construction of the station was begun in 1891 and the station opened on 3 November 1893, as the headquarters and city fire station for the newly formed Metropolitan Fire Brigade. It was designed by architecture firms Lloyd Taylor & Fitts, and Smith & Johnson, who both won the competition, and combined to produce this striking Australian Queen Anne style building. The building contained living quarters, stables, workshops, and offices. A watchtower was initially staffed 24 hours a day. Firefighters lived on the premises until the 1970s. In 1972 a new station was begun next door, designed by Bates Smart McCutcheon in the Brutalist style, with the fire trucks now exiting onto Gisborne Street instead of Victoria Parade. The new building and refurbished old station was opened on 8 March 1979.Parts of the old building are still used for offices, while the Fire Services Museum of Victoria now occupies the majority of the bottom floor of the old station. The Museum contains exhibits pertaining to the old MFB Board, the Chief Fire Officer, a showcase of fully refurbished fire appliances, a display of international firefighting garments and a dedication to the MFB's sister firefighting organisation, the Country Fire Authority. Eastern Hill Fire Station is known as Fire Station 1 inside the Metropolitan Fire Brigade.

The Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre, commonly abbreviated to Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, from 2013 to 2021 drew together all of Australia and New Zealand's fire and emergency service authorities, land management agencies, as well as non-government organisations and leading experts across a range of scientific fields to explore the causes, consequences and mitigation of natural disasters. The CRC had special focus on the human, infrastructure, and governance aspects of natural hazards including: earthquake, tsunami, flood, cyclone, and bushfire.

St Peter's, Eastern Hill is the Anglican parish church of the City of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The parish is in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne and dates from 1847. The letters patent of Queen Victoria declaring the city status of Melbourne were read on the steps of St Peter's in 1848. The parish is well known as belonging to the Anglo-Catholic tradition. St Peter's central position in Melbourne means it is able to extend a number of ministries from the parish including a hospital chaplain, university chaplain and parliamentary chaplain. The church is also the location of a breakfast program for Melbourne's inner-city homeless.

The Bionics Institute of Australia is a biomedical research institute focusing on medical bionics that creates, designs, evaluates and improves bionic devices that interface with the human body to restore impaired sensory or other nervous system and bodily functions. The Bionics Institute is located in Melbourne, Australia. The Bionics Institute is made up of researchers, engineers, technicians and students working closely with clinicians to pioneer new technologies that address the unmet needs of patients living with hearing loss, tinnitus, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, balance and movement disorders, stroke, inflammatory bowel disease, and urinary incontinence. The institute is dedicated to translational research leading to clinical outcomes. Examples of clinical trials in which the institute has been involved include; completion of the Bionic Vision Australia trial of the prototype bionic eye; an evaluation of a novel stimulation method to improve speech perception in cochlear implant patients; in early 2020, the first patients in a first-in-human clinical trial were implanted with a device called Minder™, designed to provide clinicians with an accurate and long-term record of epileptic seizures; in late 2020, a clinical trial is due to commence with a novel device to detect gut inflammation.

The Lutheran Trinity Church in East Melbourne, Australia, is a Lutheran heritage-listed church. It was built in 1874 and was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 9 October 1974. The church is on Parliament Place, immediately to the south of St Patrick's Cathedral and east of Parliament House. Most church services are in German.

The East Melbourne Hebrew Congregation (Hebrew: ק"ק מקוה ישראל, romanized: Mickva Yisrael), also known as East Melbourne Shule, East Melbourne Synagogue, Melbourne City Synagogue or City of Melbourne Synagogue is a historically significant Jewish congregation in East Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The synagogue, consecrated in 1877, is the oldest in Melbourne.

St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne (formerly known as St Vincent's & Mercy Private Hospital) is a hospital group in Victoria of Australia that is located across four campuses in the Melbourne suburbs of Fitzroy, East Melbourne , Kew and Werribee, Victoria. Each campus is designated St Vincent's Private Hospital, and the suburb (Fitzroy/East Melbourne/Kew/Werribee ). The (Catholic) Sisters of Charity and Sisters of Mercy had run the St Vincent's Private and Mercy Private hospitals independently for more than 70 years before the merger, the first of its kind. The facility is now owned by the Sisters of Charity. St Vincent's Private Hospital purchased Vimy House Private Hospital in 2008, creating the third campus. Werribee was purpose built and opened in January 2018 with 112 beds and 4 operating theatres. Currently across the four sites, St Vincent's Private Melbourne has a capacity of over 600 beds. Major specialities include interventional cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, obstetrics, neurosurgery and orthopaedics, paediatrics, ENT, hand surgery, oncology and general surgery. St Vincent's Private Hospital also runs a comprehensive social accountability program. Approximately 300 meals per week are supplied to St Mary's House of Welcome and The Wellington Community Centre. The hospital funds an ACU scholarship for nursing students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage, and provides two scholarships for refugee children in the community to complete their education at a local private College. The hospital provides support to the Children First Foundation, Mercy Care and The Way. Staff are also given the opportunity to apply for community leave in order to undertake volunteer service in a charity.

The Devonshire Arms Hotel is a former pub located at 38 Fitzroy Street, Fitzroy, in the state of Victoria, Australia. It operated as a hotel from 1843 to 1920. It is Fitzroy's oldest surviving building and Melbourne's oldest known extant hotel. The Devonshire Arms Hotel opened in 1843. The hotel was erected and owned for 50 years by local entrepreneur Francis Clark. Clark had arrived in Melbourne in 1840, and became manager of James Palmer's lemonade and soda factory. He opened a butcher's shop near the corner of Bourke Street and Elizabeth Street in 1845, and later another shop in Richmond. He bought speculative property around Fitzroy and Alphington, and lived a prosperous life. Although he hailed from Essex, the hotel was given the name Devonshire Arms, owing to the pre-goldrush population of the area being principally from the south-west of England. It was one of 27 Melbourne hotels forced to close by a July 1920 meeting of the Licensing Reduction Board, formally being delicensed in December that year. The building was raided by police in January 1921, who seized alcohol and laid charges for selling liquor without a license, but the charges were dismissed. The building later operated as a hostel.The building is now part of St Vincent's Hospital, housing the hospital's Department of Addiction Medicine.The site is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register and is included a Heritage Overlay.

Central Hall (also known by its former name, Cathedral Hall) is a building that stands at the end of Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia. This structure today serves as a centrepiece of Australian Catholic University's St. Patrick's Campus. It once held a similar role within Melbourne's Roman Catholic (and predominantly Irish) community, from the time the hall and adjoining clubrooms were opened in 1904.

The T. F. Much Ballroom or Too Fucking Much Ballroom was a music and cultural institution in Melbourne from 1970 to 1974. The venue was promoted by Bani McSpedden and John Pinder, initially to raise money for a Carlton youth club. Its successors were Much More Ballroom and Stoned Again.
