Sandia Heights, New Mexico

The Sandia Peak Tramway is an aerial tramway located adjacent to Albuquerque, New Mexico. It stretches from the northeast edge of the city to Sandia Peak on the ridge line of the Sandia Mountains and has the world's third longest single span. It is the longest aerial tram in the Americas, and was the longest in the world from 1966 until being surpassed in 2010 by the Wings of Tatev in Armenia.

High Desert is a master-planned community built by High Desert Investment Corporation in the Far Northeast Heights of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The boundaries of the High Desert neighborhood are Tramway Blvd. to the west, Simms Park Road to the north, the Sandia Mountains to the east, and Bear Canyon Open Space to the south. The High Desert area is one of the most expensive areas of Albuquerque. High Desert is also one of the most highly elevated neighborhoods in Albuquerque, as most of the neighborhood is at or above 6,000 feet (1,800 meters) in elevation. High Desert is zoned to Georgia O'Keeffe Elementary School, Eisenhower Middle School, and Eldorado High School.

KQTM (101.7 FM, "The Team") is a radio station serving the Albuquerque, New Mexico, area. They are owned by Team Broadcasting and its city of license is Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The station broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 3 kW. The station broadcasts a sports format as "The Team" as of August 1, 2008.

The Albuquerque New Mexico Temple is the 73rd operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

The La Luz Trail (Trail 137) is a popular hiking trail located on the west face of the Sandia Mountains near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The trail begins at the La Luz Trailhead and proceeds approximately eight miles to either Sandia Crest or the Sandia Peak Tramway. The hike is strenuous, with 3,775 ft (1,151 m) of elevation gain and a grade of 12%. The trail allows hikers to view the flora and fauna of four climatic "life zones" and the granite cliffs and spires native to the west face of the Sandia Mountains. It also offers excellent views of Albuquerque, the cinder cones of the Albuquerque Volcanoes, and Mount Taylor. The La Luz Trail is also home to the La Luz Trail Run.

Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of Cibola National Forest, is located east of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and comprises much of Sandia Mountains. It became part of the National Wilderness Preservation System in 1978 by an act of the United States Congress and has a total of 37,877 acres (15,328 ha).The wilderness is under the authority of the United States Forest Service. Because of its proximity to Albuquerque, it has one of the most used trail systems in the state. Most tourists access the wilderness area either by way of the Sandia Aerial Tramway or by driving by way of the Sandia Crest National Scenic Byway.

New Mexico State University Albuquerque Center is a satellite learning center of New Mexico State University located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The satellite location provides outreach programs and academic services to prospect, current, and alumni students of NMSU within the Albuquerque area and Northern New Mexico. It offers the Master of Social Work, Master of Public Health, and NMSU's distance education programs at the main campus in Las Cruces. The learning center also provides computer labs, meeting and conference spaces, proctored exams, and academic and community assistance for NMSU students. The current site of NMSU's Albuquerque Center is shared with Central New Mexico Community College's Montoya Campus, which has a transfer agreement for CNM's associate degree graduates to complete their bachelor's degree at NMSU Las Cruces.

TWA Flight 260 was the Trans World Airlines (TWA) designation for a flight from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Santa Fe, New Mexico. On February 19, 1955, the 40-passenger Martin 4-0-4 prop plane used by TWA for that route crashed into the Sandia Mountains. Its deviation from the normal flight path, initially believed to be the result of pilot error, was revised to "unknown" given that the contribution of other factors could not be definitively ruled out.

Eldorado High School is a public 9–12 high school located in northeast Albuquerque, New Mexico within the Albuquerque Public Schools district.

Sandia Crest, also known locally as Sandia Peak or simply as the Crest, is a mountain ridge that, at 10,679 feet (3,255 m), is the highpoint of the Sandia–Manzano Mountains, and is located in the Sandia Mountains of Bernalillo County, New Mexico, United States. Instead of a true summit or topographic peak, this range climbs to a long ridge line. To the east, the range slopes down from the Crest and merges into the plains below. On the west side of the Crest is a cliff; the range dramatically drops over 4,000 feet (1,000 metres) in elevation over 2 miles (3 kilometres) of horizontal distance to the Rio Grande Valley and city of Albuquerque below. It is within the Sandia Ranger District of the Cibola National Forest. The Crest features a viewing area with a shop and visitor center, telecommunications transmitters, the popular La Luz Trail, the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, and the summit of Sandia Peak Ski Area and the Sandia Peak Tramway, which is the longest aerial tramway in the Americas.

KBQI (107.9 FM, "Big I 107.9") is a commercial radio station in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It carries a country music format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. It carries two syndicated shows on weekdays, The Bobby Bones Show in morning drive time and After Midnite with Granger Smith overnight. The studios are on Masthead Street in northeast Albuquerque. KBQI is a Class C station with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 22,500 watts. The transmitter tower is atop Sandia Crest east of the city. KBQI broadcasts using HD Radio technology. It airs a classic country format on its HD-2 subchannel, "The Bull," which feeds FM translator K251AU at 98.1 MHz.

KOBQ (93.3 FM) is a commercial radio station in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is owned by Cumulus Media and broadcasts a top 40/CHR radio format, branded as "93-3 The Q". Its radio studios and offices are in Downtown Albuquerque. KOBQ has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 21,500 watts. The transmitter is atop Sandia Peak.
