The Parc and Dare Hall, now known as the Park and Dare Theatre (Welsh: Theatr y Parc a'r Dâr) , is a former Miners' institute but now serves as a large entertainment venue in the village of Treorchy, in the Rhondda Valley of Wales. Since the demolition of the Abercynon Workingmen's Hall, the Parc and Dare Workingmen's Hall is the largest in the South Wales Coalfield. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Treorchy (Welsh: Treorci; Welsh pronunciation) is a town and community (and electoral ward) in Wales. Once a mining town, it retains the characteristics of one. Treorchy Comprehensive School is an English language, comprehensive school in the village of Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. The school is situated on the southern side of the valley, and is 500 metres in length from the main gate on Conway Road, Cwmparc, to the rear gate at Tylecoch Bridge, Treorchy. Pupils who are identified as being proficient in Welsh will study RE, History, PE, PSHE and Geography through the medium of Welsh at KS3. At KS4, first language Welsh is offered at GCSE.

Ynyswen (Welsh pronunciation) is a village in the community of Treorchy, in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Ynyswen consists mostly of housing. It has an industrial estate which was once the site of Burberry's factory, one shop, and the Forest View Medical Centre. The area has several chapels and churches. Tynycoed Chapel, located between Ynyswen and Penycae, was first constructed in 1774, and was rebuilt in 1829.Ynyswen infant's school takes children until the age of 7. From then they must go to a different primary school: usually Penyrenglyn Primary School or Treorchy Primary School. Ynyswen Welsh School is a Welsh-speaking primary school that serves the Rhondda Valley. There is no nearby Welsh-speaking comprehensive school and so pupils mostly attend a Welsh school some miles away. Ynyswen railway station is on the Rhondda Line opened by British Rail. On 5 March 2021 many emergency vehicles, including an air ambulance, were called after a major incident, centred on the Blue Sky Chinese take-away, in Baglan Road. One villager said there were reports that at least two people had been stabbed by a man who then fled the scene. A 16-year-old girl died and two men were arrested after suffering serious injuries.

Tylacoch Halt railway station served the village of Ynyswen, in the historic county of Glamorgan, Wales, from 1906 to 1912 on the Taff Vale Railway.

Cwmparc is a village and a district of the community of Treorchy, in the Rhondda Valley, Wales.

Pentre is a village, community and electoral ward near Treorchy in the Rhondda valley, falling within the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. The village's name is taken from the Welsh word Pentref, which translates as homestead, though Pentre is named after a large farm that dominated the area before the coming of industrialisation. The community takes in the neighbouring village of Ton Pentre.

Ynyswen railway station (Welsh pronunciation) is a railway station serving the village of Ynyswen in Rhondda Cynon Taf, south Wales. It is located on the Rhondda Line. It was first opened on this site by British Rail on the former Taff Vale Railway in 1986.

St Peter's Church is an Anglican church serving the parish of Ystradyfodwg and the village of Pentre in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is located on Pentre Road, with the south-west end of its churchyard fronting the main thoroughfare of Llewellyn Street (A4058). It was built in the Early English style in 1887–1890 to the designs of Kempson and Fowler and was designated as a Grade II* listed building in 1991.

Ystradyfodwg or Ystrad Dyfodwg (Vale of Tyfodwg) was an ancient upland parish in Glamorgan, Wales. It is believed to have been named after Dyfodwg (or Tyfodwg) a 6th-century saint or chieftain. The Parish included most of the area which would later be known as Rhondda named for the parish rivers, Rhondda Fawr and Rhondda Fach.
