Leipzig-Lindenau railway station

The Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei (Leipzig Cotton Mill) is an industrial site in Leipzig, Germany. Parts of this 10-hectare site in the district of Lindenau are used today by art galleries, studios and restaurants. Founded in 1884, the business developed into the largest cotton mill in continental Europe over the next quarter century. During this time, an entire industrial town with over 20 factories, workers' housing, kindergartens and a recreational area, grew in western Leipzig. The mill reached its maximum extent in 1907, with 240,000 spindles processing cotton across a working area of about 25 acres (100,000 m2). Up to 4,000 people worked there, until production of thread was halted in 1993 following the reunification of Germany several years earlier. Subsequently, the area was repopulated by a mixture of people including craftsmen, self-employed, and above all artists, many belonging to the so-called "New Leipzig School". More than half of the available space has since been rented out again for new purposes. Ten galleries, a communal arts center (Halle 14), and around 100 artists (including Neo Rauch, Jim Whiting, Hans Aichinger, and Matthias Weischer) have all settled at the site, as well as restaurants, fashion designers, architects, printers, a goldsmith, a pottery, a film club, a porcelain manufacturer, and an arts supply store. The site contained several platform interchanges from a now-disused railway between Lindenau and Plagwitz. Parts of the platforms are still intact.

Young Spectator's Theatre (Театр Юного Зрителя, ТЮЗ) was a standard name of a theatre for children and youth in many cities of the Soviet Union, usually referred to by this abbreviation: тюз, TYuZ (sometimes translated as "TUZ theatre"). The oldest children's theatre under such a name was Moscow TYuZ (Московский театр юного зрителя), created in 1918 and Bryantsev Youth Theatre in Saint Petersburg, opened in 1922. A TYuZ was typically a stationary theatre, with a dedicated building that housed several scenes, including a puppet theatre. While considered by many actors to be less prestigious than "adult" theatres, such theatres served well as entertainment for youth not yet sophisticated enough for more mature theatre.

Leutzsch is a western suburb of Leipzig in Saxony, Germany. It is part of the borough Alt-West.

Karl-Heine-Strasse is a radial road in the west of Leipzig marking the boundary between the current boroughs of Leipzig-Plagwitz (to the south) and Leipzig-Lindenau (to the north). 2.01 km (1.2 mi) long, it is named after the industrialist Karl Heine.

The Musikalische Komödie (colloquially MuKo) is an operettas and musicals theatre in Leipzig. Its venue is located in the Lindenau district in the Haus Dreilinden, which is often referred to as the "Musical Comedy" itself. It is one of the three sections of the Oper Leipzig. However, it has its own ensemble with soloists, choir, ballet company and orchestra. Because of this and its own venue, it is perceived by the public as an independent cultural institution. Its repertoire ranges from Spieloper to operetta and musicals.

The Sportplatz Leipzig was between 1892 and 1936 the largest sports complex in Leipzig, Germany. Today, the Kleinmesse and partly the RB Leipzig Training Center are located on the former grounds of the sports field.

The Capa House at Jahnallee 61 in Leipzig - Lindenau is named after the American war reporter and photographer Robert Capa. It is the location where Capa took The Picture of the Last Man to Die of the United States army soldier Raymond J. Bowman, who was killed there during the Second World War. The images became internationally known when they were published in Life magazine.

Leipzig Industriegelände West (German: Bahnhof Leipzig Industriegelände West) was a former railway station located in Leipzig, Germany. The station was located on the Leipzig–Probstzella railway. The station closed in December 2012, as part of the renovation and upgrade of the line for the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland, which opened in December 2013.

Leipzig Grünauer Allee (German: Haltepunkt Leipzig Grünauer Allee) is a railway station located in Leipzig, Germany. The station opened on 25 September 1977 and was closed between April 2011 and 15 December 2013. The station is located on the Leipzig-Plagwitz–Leipzig Miltitzer Allee railway. The train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn, as part of the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland.

The Palmengarten is a park in Leipzig-Lindenau. It covers a surface of 22.5 hectares.

Schleußig (or Schleussig) is a locality of Leipzig in Germany. It is in the borough (Stadtbezirk) Südwest (southwest). First mentioned in 1391 under the name of Slizzig, Schleußig acquired the status of a rural municipality in 1835 before being integrated into Leipzig in 1891. A good third of the locality is occupied by the Nuns' Woods (Nonnenholz) of the Leipzig Riverside Forest (Leipziger Auwald) and a small part by the Clara-Zetkin-Park. The largely closed Wilhelminian-style development, the proximity to local recreational areas as well as to the town centre make Schleußig an attractive residential area.

Kleine Luppe is a river of Saxony, Germany. It is a tributary of the Nahle near Leutzsch.
