Walter Johnson High School (also known as Walter Johnson or WJ) is a public upper secondary school located in the census-designated place of North Bethesda, Maryland (Bethesda postal address). The school was founded in 1956 and named after Walter Johnson, a famous baseball player who was also a native of Montgomery County, Maryland. WJHS serves portions of Bethesda, North Bethesda, Potomac, and Rockville, as well as the towns of Garrett Park and Kensington. It is a part of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).

KID Museum (Kids’ Innovation & Discovery) is a children's museum and child-oriented maker space in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Bethesda, Maryland. In May of 2022, KID Museum opened a new location in Downtown Bethesda that provides a larger space for activities ranging from wood shop to robotics. The new space is nearly four times the size of the old space on the lower floor of Bethesda's Davis Library which will remain open for some programming. More than 330,000 people have visited the KID Museum since it opened in 2014. The Washington Post describes KID as "The museum’s hands-on programs teach skills such as collaboration, creativity and critical thinking, as well as such technical skills as designing and building and even using power tools."

Westfield Montgomery (formerly known as Montgomery Mall) is a shopping mall in Bethesda, Maryland. Major tenants include Macy's, Macy's Home, and Nordstrom, as well as specialty brands like Fabletics, Madewell, Vineyard Vines, and Untuckit.

The Woods Academy is an independent, Catholic, preschool, lower school, and middle school for girls and boys ages three through fourteen, with an enrollment, as of the 2019–20 school year, of 261 students. The school is located on six acres in the Washington D.C. suburb of Bethesda, Maryland, U.S.

The 1992 LPGA Championship was the 38th LPGA Championship, played May 14–17 at Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb northwest of Washington, D.C. Betsy King won the fifth of her six major titles, eleven strokes ahead of runners-up JoAnne Carner, Liselotte Neumann, and Karen Noble. She led by five strokes after 54 holes, and her victory margin was the largest to date, passing Patty Sheehan's ten-stroke win in 1984, and it stood until 2010. King was the first to card all four rounds in the sixties in an LPGA major; it was her only win at the LPGA Championship. This was the third of four consecutive LPGA Championships at Bethesda Country Club.

The 1993 LPGA Championship was the 39th LPGA Championship, played June 10–13 at Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb northwest of Washington, D.C. Patty Sheehan won the fourth of her six major titles, one stroke ahead of runner-up Lauri Merten. She trailed by two strokes after entering the final round, and it was her third and final win at the LPGA Championship, with previous victories in 1983 and 1984.This was the last of four consecutive LPGA Championships at Bethesda Country Club.

The 1991 LPGA Championship was the 37th LPGA Championship, played June 27–30 at Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb northwest of Washington, D.C. Meg Mallon shot a final round 67 (−4) to win the first of her four major titles, one stroke ahead of runners-up Pat Bradley and Ayako Okamoto. All three were tied for the lead at 207 (−6) after 54 holes, and played in the final grouping on Sunday. They came to the final hole tied at nine under par; all three put their drives in the fairway and had putts for birdie, but only Mallon converted. She won the U.S. Women's Open two weeks later. This was the second of four consecutive LPGA Championships at Bethesda Country Club.

The 1990 LPGA Championship was the 36th LPGA Championship, played July 26–29 at Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb northwest of Washington, D.C. Five strokes back, Beth Daniel shot a final round 66 (−5) for 280 (−4) to win her sole major title, a stroke ahead of runner-up Rosie Jones, the third round leader.This was the first of four consecutive LPGA Championships at Bethesda Country Club. The purse (and winner's share) were doubled this year to $1 million and $150,000, respectively, the largest in LPGA Tour history. The LPGA Championship was the tour's richest major from this year through 1995.

Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian Church located at 6601 Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda, Maryland. The church has a unique partnership with the Bethesda Jewish Congregation (BJC), in which they share the same space for worship. It is believed that this arrangement, which is 46 years old (as of June 20, 2008), is the oldest such relationship in the United States.In 1998 the BJC and Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church signed a pact, which reads: We wish to acknowledge and celebrate commonalities and differences. We see this relationship as a living example of understanding and respect among people of different heritage.

Charles W. Woodward High School is a former U.S. high school located in North Bethesda, Maryland, near Rockville. The building housed a Tilden middle school until the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent relocation of the school.

North Bethesda is an unincorporated, census-designated place in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just north-west of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It had a population of 50,094 as of the 2020 census. Among its neighborhoods, the centrally-located, urbanizing district of White Flint is the commercial and residential hub of North Bethesda. The Pike & Rose development and the Pike District is an initiative of Montgomery County to brand and market this region as "North Bethesda's Urban Core". The WMATA North Bethesda (formerly White Flint) metro station and Grosvenor-Strathmore metro station serve the region. Four of the National Institutes of Health as well other federal agencies, including the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, are headquartered in North Bethesda. A number of corporate headquarters are headquartered in North Bethesda, as well as nonprofits such as the American Kidney Fund, the Society of American Foresters and United States Pharmacopeia (USP). The region is also known for a number of its long-standing institutions, such as the Neo-Georgian Mansion at Strathmore and the Georgetown Preparatory School. The Music Center at Strathmore is also located in North Bethesda.

India Development and Relief Fund (IDRF) is a Maryland, USA-based 501(c) (3) tax exempt, non-profit organization (EIN: 52-1555563) that supports impoverished people in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. IDRF's programs span all over India from Jammu and Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, and from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh, Nepal and more recently Sri Lanka. Since its inception in 1988, IDRF has disbursed $34 million in grants to various developmental programs pertaining to areas like: education, health, women's empowerment, eco-friendly development, good governance, and disaster relief/rehabilitation.
