Port Norfolk Historic District

The Circle was a historic restaurant building located at Portsmouth, Virginia designed by Dorothy Pebworth. It was built in 1947, and was a one-story, Moderne style building. It was a stuccoed concrete block structure with a prominent half-circle building mass marking the façade. The half-circle was surmounted by a neon-lit sign with the restaurant's name. The bar had a mural attributed to Al Hirschfeld of mid-20th century celebrities. The Circle was an original curb-service restaurant, which later served as a dine-in restaurant. The building was demolished on August 19, 2013.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006, and was removed from the National Register in 2017.

Shea Terrace Elementary School is a historic school building located in Portsmouth, Virginia. The structure was built in 1925 based on a design by noted Virginia architect Charles M. Robinson. The school opened in September 1925 serving Portsmouth's Shea Terrace neighborhood. In a 2002 submission to have the structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Virginia Department of Historical Resources noted the structure's association with Charles M. Robinson: "He is one of the most important Virginia architects of this period and his approach to school design and campus master planning continues to exert an influence today." The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

It is the 9th-most populous city in Virginia and is part of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. The Norfolk Naval Shipyard is a historic and active U.S. Navy facility located in Portsmouth.

Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center is a historic, general medical and surgical hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia and affiliated with Bon Secours Health System (USA). Adjoining the hospital campus is Bon Secours Maryview Behavioral Medicine Center. Upon the closing of Portsmouth General Hospital, its former hospital services were gradually transferred to Maryview and Bon Secours Health Center at Harbour View in Suffolk between 1996 and 1999.

Lambert's Point Deperming Station is a United States Navy deperming facility located in the Elizabeth River just off Lambert's Point, Norfolk, Virginia, United States. It was built in the mid-1940s and services the U.S. Atlantic Fleet. The station, which is administered by Naval Station Norfolk, consists of two parallel pile-supported piers, roughly 1140 ft. (345 m.) in length, which form a slip that can accommodate all Navy and Coast Guard ships up to and including the largest warships afloat, the Nimitz class aircraft carriers. There is a second pier for smaller vessels and support craft. The station has administrative offices and a medical clinic on site. When viewed from the air, the pier configuration resembles the number 41.

The Western Branch Elizabeth River is a 7.0-mile-long (11.3 km) tidal river which bisects the city of Portsmouth, Virginia, in the United States. It is a tributary of the Elizabeth River, part of the harbor of Hampton Roads in southeastern Virginia.

WGBS-LD, virtual channel 7 (VHF digital channel 12), is a low-power Retro TV-affiliated television station licensed to Carrollton, Virginia, United States and serving the Greater Hampton Roads area. The station is owned by Joan Wright.

I. C. Norcom High School is a public high school in Portsmouth, Virginia. It is administered by Portsmouth City Public Schools. The school colors are maroon and grey, and the mascot is the Greyhounds. The school was named after Israel Charles Norcom, its first supervising principal. I. C. Norcom High School is at 1801 London Boulevard conveniently between the revitalized downtown and the Midtown Tunnel. It was opened September 1997 under the leadership of Walter Taylor. The first graduating class of the new location was the class of 1998, but the first graduating class that attended four years at this school was the class of 2002. Norcom is known for their boys basketball team, which won the 2010 and 2011 VSHL State Championship in Division AAA. The Greyhounds won four straight championships from 2014 to 2017, the first two in division 4A, the others in Division 3A. Norcom's football team also won the 1993 state championship, defeating Langley High School 19-0.I. C. Norcom has a well-decorated NJROTC unit. They came in first place in the 2013 Fishbowl parade. They earned top spots in many current competitions and events.

Temple Sinai was an egalitarian, Reform Jewish synagogue that was located at 4401 Hatton Point Road, Portsmouth, Virginia, in the United States. The congregation, established in December 1953, was called A Family of Traditional and Non-Traditional Families and was a member of the Union for Reform Judaism. The congregation was headed by Rabbi Arthur Z. Steinberg, of blessed memory. Temple Sinai celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004 and merged with Norfolk's Ohef Sholom Temple in June 2012.

The Midtown Tunnel carries U.S. Highway 58 across the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River in the South Hampton Roads area of Virginia, US. It links the cities of Portsmouth and Norfolk. Owned by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), it is operated and maintained by Elizabeth River Crossings under a 58-year public–private partnership concession agreement. Formerly a toll-free facility, open road tolling was implemented on February 1, 2014 by VDOT to help finance repairs and expansion to the tunnel.

Park View Historic District is a national historic district located at Portsmouth, Virginia. It encompasses 295 contributing buildings in a primarily residential section of northeast Portsmouth. It was developed in the late-19th and early-20th centuries, and includes notable examples of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and American Foursquare style single family residences.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
