Sekyere South District

Afigya Sekyere District is a former district that was located in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which it was created from part of the former Kwabre-Sekyere District Council; untl the western part of the district (the Afigya portion) was split off to become the northern portion of Afigya-Kwabre District on 1 November 2007 (effectively 29 February 2008); while the remaining portion has since then been officially renamed as Sekyere South District. The district assembly was located in the eastern part of Ashanti Region and had Agona as its capital town.

Old Tafo Municipal District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was a sub-metropolitan district council within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly until 15 March 2018, when it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Old Tafo Municipal District. The municipality is located in the central part of Ashanti Region and has Tafo as its capital town.

Tafo is a town in Kumasi Metropolitan District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana near the regional capital Kumasi. Tafo is the thirtieth most populous settlement in Ghana, in terms of population, with a population of 60,919 people. Because of the town's population and housing development in recent years, it is debatable whether Tafo is still regarded as a separate town, or already a suburb of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region. The town is near Kumasi, with a distance of approximately 3.3 kilometers to the center of a similar name sounding village named New Tafo and must be distinguished from Tafo (However per traditional/kingship administrative system new Tafo and Old Tafo are basically run by a single Chief who happens to be the leader of the left wing of Kumasi Traditional council. Its therefore under same authority but political administration runs them separately. Nana Tafohene is the Chief of both Tafo which comprises the two). Tarkwa is located just 4.6 km away from Tafo. The city center of Kumasi is located approximately 9.8 kilometers away. Tafo is one of the urban constituencies of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, the town's parliamentary candidate shall have one direct seat to the Parliament of Ghana

Kodie is a small town and is the capital of Afigya-Kwabre South district, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Afigya Kwabre South District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Afigya Kwabre District on 29 February 2008, until the northern part of the district was split off to create Afigya Kwabre North District on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Afigya Kwabre South District. The district assembly is located in the northern part of Ashanti Region and has Kodie as its capital town.

However on 15 March 2018, it was split off into two new districts: Afigya Kwabre South District (capital: Kodie) and Afigya Kwabre North District (capital: Boamang). The district assembly was the northern part of Ashanti Region and had Kodie as its capital town.

The Garden City University College is one of the private universities in Ghana. It is located at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. It was established in 2001. as the College of Information Technology and Management Systems. The college was converted into the Garden City University College in 2004. It has been granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Board.
