Afigya Kwabre South District

Kodie is a small town and is the capital of Afigya-Kwabre South district, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Afigya Kwabre District is a former district that was located in Ashanti Region, Ghana. It was created from the western portion of Afigya-Sekyere District (now currently known as Sekyere South District) and the western portion of Kwabre District (now currently known as Kwabre East Municipal District) on 1 November 2007 (effectively 29 February 2008). However on 15 March 2018, it was split off into two new districts: Afigya Kwabre South District (capital: Kodie) and Afigya Kwabre North District (capital: Boamang). The district assembly was the northern part of Ashanti Region and had Kodie as its capital town.

Old Tafo Municipal District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was a sub-metropolitan district council within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly until 15 March 2018, when it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Old Tafo Municipal District. The municipality is located in the central part of Ashanti Region and has Tafo as its capital town.

Tafo is a town in Kumasi Metropolitan District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana near the regional capital Kumasi. Tafo is the thirtieth most populous settlement in Ghana, in terms of population, with a population of 60,919 people. Because of the town's population and housing development in recent years, it is debatable whether Tafo is still regarded as a separate town, or already a suburb of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region. The town is near Kumasi, with a distance of approximately 3.3 kilometers to the center of a similar name sounding village named New Tafo and must be distinguished from Tafo (However per traditional/kingship administrative system new Tafo and Old Tafo are basically run by a single Chief who happens to be the leader of the left wing of Kumasi Traditional council. Its therefore under same authority but political administration runs them separately. Nana Tafohene is the Chief of both Tafo which comprises the two). Tarkwa is located just 4.6 km away from Tafo. The city center of Kumasi is located approximately 9.8 kilometers away. Tafo is one of the urban constituencies of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, the town's parliamentary candidate shall have one direct seat to the Parliament of Ghana

Wesley College of Education is a teacher education college in Kumasi, Ashanti Region in Ghana. It was initially established for the training of teachers, catechists and ministers. It was founded by the Methodist Church, located between New Tafo and Old Tafo towns. The beginning of Wesley College of Education goes back to 1918. Following the signing of the lease, the college was named, and the foundation stone of the present site was laid in 1922. The courses offered in the College have gone through upgrading from 2-year Cert ‘B’; 4-year Cert ‘A’; 2-year Post-Secondary Cert ‘A; 3-year Post-Secondary Cert ‘A’; and now Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) by the passage of a Parliamentary Bill, Education Act 778 on 6 January 2008. Currently, Wesley College of Education offers special programmes at the Diploma in Basic Education level. These are Science, Mathematics and French. The college participated in the DFID-funded Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL) programme. It is affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology

Kumasi International Airport (IATA: KMS, ICAO: DGSI) is a national airport in Ghana serving Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region. In 2022, the airport handled over 450,000 passengers, making it the second busiest airport in Ghana after Kotoka International Airport in Accra.Kumasi International Airport is located 6 kilometres (4 mi) from Kumasi. It was changed from a military base to an airport in 1999. The airport has undergone several renovation and expansion projects to help push its status as an international airport.

The Kumasi Zoo (Kumasi Zoological Garden) is a zoo located in the heart of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The zoo occupies a 1.5-square-kilometre (370-acre) area between the Kejetia Bus Terminal, the old race course and the Kumasi Centre for National Culture.

Bantama High Street and Prempeh II Street in Bantama and Adum, respectively, are the business and entertainment hubs in Kumasi.

The Kumasi Central Market (also known as Kejetia Market) is an open-air market in the city of Kumasi. The Kejetia market is the largest single market in West Africa. It has over 10,000 stores and stalls.The market has a day care school for most children of the market women, also has hospital and bank
