Newton Brook

Newton is a village on the Wirral Peninsula, in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England. It is a part of the suburban town of West Kirby, the local government ward of West Kirby and Thurstaston and the parliamentary constituency of Wirral West. Contiguous with Newton is the suburb of Grange to the west. The hamlet of Larton is to the east. Newton consists of a village hall, post office, public house and a general store. The local park, aptly named Newton Park, has a football pitch, outdoor basketball courts and a playground for children. Wirral Council also has several allotments in Newton that are provided for residents to grow their own vegetables and plants.

Hilbre High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Newton, a suburb of West Kirby on the Wirral Peninsula, England. It is named after the small Hilbre Islands archipelago in the nearby Local Nature Reserve of the same name. The school has a drama studio theatre and many other drama classrooms funded by the school's specialist Humanities College status. This facility includes a lighting and sound booth which can be used as a recording studio. The school also has a sixth form block. Hilbre High School also has a music block, commonly known to pupils as A block, the main building, and D block.

Larton is a hamlet near the town of West Kirby, on the Wirral Peninsula, in Merseyside, England. Administratively it is part of the local government ward of Greasby, Frankby and Irby in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral and is within the parliamentary constituency of Wirral West. Larton is located to the north west of the village of Frankby and east of Newton, to which it was historically linked as a combined township. Although Newton contains the majority of the former township's population, Larton's name remains in geographical use with the Larton Livery riding school, Larton Farm and a "state of the art" veterinary surgery.

Wirral West is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament by Margaret Greenwood of the Labour Party since 2015.

Calday Grange Grammar School is an 11–18 non-denominational, academically selective, boys grammar school, founded in 1636, situated on Caldy Hill in Grange, a suburb of West Kirby on the Wirral peninsula, England. The school admits boys from age 11 to 18 and, since 1985, girls for the sixth form only. The school has academy status, hosts the Wirral Able Children Centre, and has been awarded Sportsmark Gold and Investors in People status. By September 2019, a total of 1,492 boys were enrolled at the school, with 398 enrolled at the co–educational sixth form. The most recent inspection by government agency Ofsted, occurred in September 2019, and rated the school as "good".

Grange (historically known as Caldy Grange, which gives its name to the local grammar school) is a suburb of West Kirby, on the Wirral Peninsula, in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England. The suburb is contiguous with Newton to the north east. Historically part of the county of Cheshire, it is within the local government ward of West Kirby and Thurstaston and the parliamentary constituency of Wirral West.

Caldy Hill is an area of heath and woodland on a sandstone outcrop on the Wirral Peninsula. The land was bought by Hoylake District Council between 1897 and 1974. The village of Caldy is nearby. Including Stapledon Woods, the whole area covers 250 acres (1.0 km2) of which 13 acres (53,000 m2) are owned by the National Trust. The hill rises to 260 ft where there is a view-finder. From here there are fine views over the estuary of the River Dee to Hilbre Island and the Irish Sea. More distant views range to Snowdonia in the west and Blackpool and the Pennines in the east, more rarely as far as the Lake District to the north, and extremely rarely to the Isle of Man in the north-west. The Mariners' Beacon stands nearby on the site of an old windmill, which was missed by mariners after it was destroyed by a gale in 1839. Consequently, the Trustees of the Liverpool Docks erected the Mariners' Beacon in 1841. Calday Grange Grammar School is situated on Caldy Hill.

Frankby (locally ) is a village on the Wirral Peninsula, in Merseyside, England. It is located between Greasby and Newton on the outskirts of the town of West Kirby. The hamlet of Larton is to the north west. Historically within the county of Cheshire, it is part of the Greasby, Frankby and Irby Ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral and is in the parliamentary constituency of Wirral West. According to the 2001 census, of a total ward population of 14,667, 310 people live in Frankby. In the 2011 census, population figures specific to Frankby were not available. However, the total population of Greasby, Frankby and Irby Ward was 13,991.

Caldy Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union team which play in the Championship, the second tier of English rugby, following their promotion from National League 1 at the end of 2021-22. Their home stadium is Paton Field in Thurstaston. On 23 April 2022 Caldy reached the highest level in the club's history when they beat title rivals Sale 13–9 in front of a crowd of 3,000 at Paton Field to win National League 1 and gain promotion to the RFU Championship (tier 2) for the 2022–23 season.

Paton Field is located on Telegraph Road, in Thurstaston, Wirral Peninsula, England. The stadium is the home of Caldy RFC.

The Church of St John the Divine, is in Frankby Road, Frankby, Wirral, Merseyside, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Wirral, North, the archdeaconry of Chester and the diocese of Chester. Its benefice is united with that of St Nicholas, Greasby. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Caldy (historically spelled Calday) is a small, affluent village on the Wirral Peninsula, England, south-east of West Kirby. It is part of the West Kirby & Thurstaston Ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral and is in the parliamentary constituency of Wirral West. At the time of the 2001 Census, Caldy had 1,290 inhabitants, of a total ward population of 12,869.
