Dehnow Rural District (Persian: دهستان دهنو) is in Akramabad District of Yazd County, Yazd province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Deh Now, whose population at the time of the 2016 National Census was 3,821 in 1,075 households.

The university was founded in 1989 by a merger of several older institutions and grew rapidly over the years. Its main campus is located in Safaeeyeh. There are four other campuses and two autonomous schools, all located within or in the vicinity of the city of Yazd. Yazd University offers BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in more than 40 fields through its 29 departments and is home to more than 14,000 students.

The Amir Chakhmaq Complex (Persian: مجموعه میدان امیرچخماق, romanized: Majmūʿa Meydân Amir Čaqmaq) is a prominent structure in Yazd, Iran, noted for its symmetrical sunken alcoves. It is a mosque located on a square of the same name. It also contains a caravanserai, a tekyeh, a bathhouse, a cold water well, and a confectionery. At night, the building is lit up after twilight hours after sun set with orange lighting in the arched alcoves which makes it a spectacle. During the Iran–Iraq War and the Iraq wars with the United States and Afghanistan, many Iraqis and Afghanis came to inhabit the Amir Chakhmaq Square.

The Amir Chakhmaq Mosque (Persian: مسجد امیرچخماق, romanized: Masjed Mir Chakhmagh; Arabic: مسجد أمير جقماق), also known as the Dahouk Mosque (Persian: مسجد دهوک) and the Jāmeh Nou Mosque, is a Shi'ite mosque located adjacent to the Amir Chaghmagh Square, in the city of Yazd, in the province of Yazd, Iran.

Iranshahr High School (Persian: دبیرستان ایرانشهر) is a historic public high school in Yazd, Iran. It was founded in 1928 and holds the distinction of being the first public high school established in the city.
