The Fort Wayne Museum of Art (FWMoA) is an American art museum located in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana, Allen County, United States. The Fort Wayne Museum of Art contains permanent collections and national traveling exhibitions and is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. FWMoA annually receives about 100,000 visitors.

Alexander Taylor Rankin House, also known as the Maier-DeWood Residence, is a historic home located in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was built about 1841, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, three bay by two bay, Greek Revival style brick dwelling. A one-story frame addition was erected around 1855.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Christian G. Strunz House, also known as the Sponhauer House, is a historic home located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was built in 1886–1887, and is a two-story, irregularly massed, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a steeply pitched roof with flat deck.: 6  The house was moved to 1017 W. Berry St. in 1980 to prevent its demolition.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Arts United Center is an arts center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA. The Fine Arts Foundation of Fort Wayne originally proposed the construction of a large complex devoted to the arts in the early 1960s. The foundation compiled an ambitious program including facilities to support an art school, gallery, theatre, orchestra, historical museum. In 1961, a selection committee commissioned architect Louis Kahn to design the project based on referral from Philip Johnson. Kahn's first plan, presented in 1965, incurred an estimated cost of $20 million, which far exceeded the $2.5 million allocated for the project. In response to financial limitations, the project's scale was limited to the performing arts facilities; The Theatre of Performing Arts is the only realized building in Kahn's design. Arts United (formerly Fine Arts Foundation) now cares for Arts Campus Fort Wayne, owning and operating the Arts United Center, Hall Community Arts Center, Auer Center for Arts and Culture, and Parkview Physicians Group ArtsLab. The cultural district also includes History Center, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, and Rankin House. Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne is embarking on a strategic plan to bring the theatre up in renovation. The organization received $2 million from AWS Foundation on 2019 for accessibility.

The Fort Wayne Old City Hall Building in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana operates as a museum known as The History Center, and has served as headquarters for the Allen County–Fort Wayne Historical Society since 1980. The Richardsonian Romanesque style sandstone building was designed by the architectural firm Wing & Mahurin and built in 1893. It served as a functioning city hall for the city until 1971 when local officials moved to the City-County Building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.The History Center has collected 32,000 artifacts and shows many of them in permanent displays dedicated to the region's history, dating from the Ice Age to the 18th century to present.The Society also owns the National Historic Landmark Chief Jean Baptiste de Richardville House and the Historic Barr Street Market.

The Journal-Gazette Building is a historic commercial building located in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was designed by noted Fort Wayne architect Charles R. Weatherhogg and built in 1927–1928. It is a four-story, 13 bay, red brick building with limestone trim in the Chicago Style. The seven central bays feature round arch window openings. For many years the building housed The Journal Gazette newspaper plant.: 2, 4 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Citizens Square is a building in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It houses Fort Wayne's municipal government. In 2011, the building attracted media attention when it was almost named the "Harry Baals Government Center" after its former mayor. Citizens Square has shut down twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has remained open since January 2021.

The St. Marys River (Shawnee: Kokothikithiipi, in Miami-Illinois: Nameewa siipiiwi) is a 99-mile-long (159 km) tributary of the Maumee River (Miami-Illinois: Taawaawa siipiiwi) in northwestern Ohio and northeastern Indiana in the United States. Prior to development, it was part of the Great Black Swamp. Today, it drains a primarily rural farming region in the watershed of Lake Erie. It is formed in southern Auglaize County in western Ohio by the confluence of the short East Branch and Center Branch. It flows briefly west to St. Marys, approaching to within two miles of Grand Lake before turning to the north. In northwestern Auglaize County it turns sharply to the west-northwest, flowing past Rockford and Willshire into Adams County, Indiana. In northeastern Indiana it flows northwest through Decatur, then enters Fort Wayne. It hooks around in its last half mile (0.8 km) to join the St. Joseph River (in Miami-Illinois: Kociihsasiipi) from the west to form the Maumee in downtown Fort Wayne. The World War II-era US Navy vessel St. Mary's River was named after this river.

The St. Joseph River of Lake Michigan is an entirely separate river that rises in western Michigan, dips into Indiana, and flows west into Lake Michigan.

Fort Wayne was a series of three successive military log stockades existing between 1794 and 1819 on the confluence between the St. Mary's and St. Joseph Rivers in northeastern Indiana, in what is now the city of Fort Wayne. The fort succeeded the original Fort Miami near Kekionga, the principal village of the Miami; The origins of which date back to the early 1700s.The first fort with that name was built in 1794 by Captain Jean François Hamtramck under orders from General "Mad" Anthony Wayne as part of the campaign against the Miami during the Northwest Indian War. It was constructed to secure the territory gained in the Battle of Fallen Timbers, in which Wayne had recently been victorious. On October 22, 1794, with construction nearly complete, and in honor of the fourth anniversary of Harmar's Defeat, the fort was officially dedicated by the US Army in the early morning hours with fifteen cannon rounds to symbolize the fifteen states of the union. It was at this point that Colonel Hamtramck would name the fort, "Fort Wayne".On September 5, 1812, the Siege of Fort Wayne occurred as part of the War of 1812. After the war, settlements started growing up around the fort. The fort was a basic stockade with few buildings. The original site was located near the present-day intersection of Berry and Clay streets. In 1819, the fort was abandoned following the cessation of Native hostilities, and the modern city of Fort Wayne was platted in 1823. A replica of the fort as it existed in 1815 (called "The Old Fort") was created in a different location in the city, and is now a tourist attraction.
