Pickering—Uxbridge

Pickering—Uxbridge is a provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. This riding was created in 2015.

CIUX-FM (105.5 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada serving the eastern suburbs of the Greater Toronto area. Owned by Torres Radio, it broadcasts an adult contemporary format branded as 105.5 Hits FM. CIUX-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 372 watts, with a maximum of 900 watts.

Goodwood Kartways is a multiple configuration karting centre located in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada. The facility spans 20 acres of land and features just shy of one kilometre of racing surface with a 10-turn road course. Since 1994 the facility has been owned and operated by the Di Leo family, brothers Marco and Daniel, father Frank and sister Stefanie.

Glasgow is a community located in the Regional Municipality of Durham in Ontario, Canada. It is located on the edge of lands designated for a future international airport (Pickering Airport), immediately east of the community of Stouffville and north of the ghost-town of Altona. There was a Mennonite church formed in Glasgow in 1930.

Lincolnville is a community and former hamlet situated in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, Canada. Lincolnville is located at the intersection of Bloomington Road / Regional Road 40 (formerly Highway 47), York Durham Town Line / Regional Road 30 and Tenth Line (or 10th Concession Road). Beyond an inn, saw mills and gravel pits (still in operation), it did not evolve as much as other halmets in Whitchurch-Stouffville. The nearest post office in the 19th century was located further west in Bloomington. Toronto and Nipissing Railway built their line that crossed south in 1877 but stations were only found to the east in Goodwood and west in Stouffville. Subsequent owners do not service Lincolnville until GO Transit established a station in 2008 but was renamed Old Elm GO Station in October 2021. The former hamlet remains a rural and mainly agricultural area with a few residential lots. The hamlet name's origin is unknown but likely shares the same links to Abraham Lincoln as those in the United States and one in Nova Scotia. Maps from the 19th century (namely 1860s and 1870s) through into today often fail to mention the hamlet's existence.

Altona is a ghost town located in Pickering, Ontario, at Sideline 30 and the Pickering-Uxbridge Town Line. It is just east of Whitchurch-Stouffville, and was named after Altona, now a borough of Hamburg, Germany.

Old Elm GO Station (formerly Lincolnville) is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, Canada. Old Elm is the northeastern terminus of train service on the Stouffville line. The original station opened on September 2, 2008 on the north side of Bethesda Road, adjacent to the GO train storage yard. Old Elm was rebuilt further south on the west side of Tenth Line, and opened on October 17, 2023.

Claremont is an unincorporated community in Southern Ontario in the north part of Pickering, Ontario, Canada. Historically, Claremont was part of Pickering Township, Ontario County, Ontario until 1974 when Ontario County was amalgamated into the Regional Municipality of Durham, which had just been established. Claremont is one of many rural villages with suburban type housing mixed with older historic buildings in the Greater Toronto Area. Brock Road, the main north-south regional road in the area, was realigned to bypass the village to the east in 1970. Claremont is just below the Oak Ridges Moraine, in the Greenbelt. Typical of the moraine countryside, around 50 to 70% of the land area around Claremont is forested. The remaining land around the village is wooded farmland and streams. Until the establishment of regional government in 1974, the municipal offices of the former Township of Pickering were located in Claremont. Access to and traffic through Claremont increased greatly with the completion of the eastern extension of the Highway 407, which has terminated at the Brock Road exit since 2001. The Havelock Subdivision of the Canadian Pacific Railway runs through Claremont. This line is used for freight traffic, but there have been proposals for the return of passenger service as part of a GO Transit expansion to Peterborough. Claremont is located 20 km northwest of Oshawa and about 55 km northeast of Downtown Toronto. Claremont has a elementary school from junior kindergarten to grade 8 and also has a cafe and a convenience store.

The York–Durham Heritage Railway was a heritage railway in both the York Region and the Durham Region of Ontario, Canada, north of Toronto. The railway formerly operated excursion trains from Uxbridge. Trips had various travel times depending on the event or festival. The railway ran on the tracks of the former Toronto and Nipissing Railway. Metrolinx owns and operates the line south from Stouffville GO Station as the Stouffville line. In 2022 the railway reported financial difficulties, and as of January 2024 has ceased all operations and filed for bankruptcy protection.

Uxbridge railway station in Uxbridge, Ontario, now serves as a railway museum and a station of the York–Durham Heritage Railway. The station building, constructed by the Grand Trunk Railway in 1904, is owned and maintained by the Township of Uxbridge and has been designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act.

Bloomington is a hamlet in York Region, Ontario, Canada, in the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. The hamlet is centred at the intersection of Ninth Line and Bloomington Road near the eastern boundary of the town of Whitchurch–Stouffville. Neighbouring communities within Whitchurch–Stouffville include Musselman Lake to the north, Lemonville to the west, and the community of urban Stouffville to the south. The hamlet of Goodwood in the town of Uxbridge lies to the east.
