Brockley Combe

Woodspring was a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1983 until 2010. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. From 1992 until 2010, it was represented by Liam Fox, former Secretary of State for Defence. Fox went on to represent the new North Somerset constituency from 2010.

Taps Combe Camp (also known as Chelvey Batch Settlement) is an Iron Age hill fort in North Somerset, England. The hill fort is situated approximately 1.8 miles (2.9 km) east from the village of Brockley. The hill fort is shaped like a "D", and is approximately 50 metres (160 ft) by 50 metres (160 ft) wide.

Brockley is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England. The parish is within the unitary authority of North Somerset, about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Nailsea, and includes the village of Chelvey. According to the 2011 census it had a population of 277.

Brockley Hall Stables (grid reference ST471669) is a 0.065 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest near the village of Brockley, North Somerset, England notified in 1987.

Goblin Combe is a dry valley in North Somerset which stretches for approximately 3½ km from Redhill, near Bristol International Airport on the A38, through to Cleeve on the A370. The combe is located at (grid reference ST473652), and is a 52-hectare (128-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) originally notified in 1999, with 9 hectares (22 acres) being managed as a nature reserve by the Avon Wildlife Trust. The Combe runs along the southern edge of a large woodland. "Combe" is the same as the Welsh word "cwm" which means valley. Above the valley is Cleeve Toot an Iron Age hillfort. It is a roughly oval settlement which is approximately 125 metres (410 ft) in length by 90 metres (300 ft) in breadth. Approximately 150 metres (490 ft) to the north is another, smaller settlement. They are thought to have been a satellite community of nearby Cadbury Hill Pits have been found at the site indicating the presence of round houses. There is a single stone rampart with a broad shallow outer ditch. There is also a prehistoric or Roman field system.

St Nicholas' Church in Brockley, Somerset, England dates from the 12th century, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The church is a redundant church in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It was vested in the Trust on 1 April 1989.The Norman church has a pinnacled tower which was added in the 15th century, and the whole church was extensively renovated in the 1820s by the Pigott family,. The font is Norman and there is a stone pulpit dating from around 1480. Inside the church is a Royal Coat of Arms dating from 1842 by William Edkins.The building is used as a local arts venue with service generally being held in the church twice a year, however special permission can be obtained for weddings.

Cleeve Heronry (grid reference ST463662) is a heronry in a woodland near the village of Cleeve in North Somerset. 40 nests were counted in 1994. 47 nests in 2007. CCTV from one of the nests can be viewed at Cleeve Nursery in spring while the birds are raising chicks.An area of 3.2 hectares is owned by Avon Wildlife Trust.

The Strawberries and Cream Tree is a graft hybrid cherry tree (of Prunus avium and P. serrulata 'Kanzan') in Backwell, North Somerset, England. Planted on council land in the 1950s, it is noted for producing two distinct colours of blossom: pink blossom on one side of the tree and white on the other, when it blooms every spring. This gave rise to the name 'Strawberries and Cream Tree', which was coined by children of the village. It is one of only two reported examples of cherry-Kanzan graft hybrid trees in England; the other being in Portchester, Hampshire.

Backwell is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of North Somerset and in 2011 had a population of 4,589. The village lies about 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Bristol, south of the A370 to Weston-super-Mare. The parish includes the hamlets of Backwell Common, Backwell Green, and Backwell Farleigh, and the districts of Backwell West Town and Downside.Nearby are Nailsea, Flax Bourton, Yatton, Brockley and Barrow Gurney.
