The Edward Millen Home, originally known as the Rotunda Hospital and later as the Hillview Terrace Hospital, is a heritage-listed former hospital located in East Victoria Park, Western Australia. The Federation Queen Anne-style main building was opened as a private maternity hospital in 1912 and acquired by the federal Repatriation Department in 1920 for the use of returned soldiers. It was used as a tuberculosis sanatorium and later as a rehabilitation facility. It was transferred to the state government of Western Australia in 1982 and continued to be used for health purposes until 2001. It was subsequently gifted to the Town of Victoria Park in 2006 to be repurposed for community purposes.

Oats Street railway station is a temporarily-closed Transperth suburban railway station in Western Australia, located in the Perth suburbs of Carlisle and East Victoria Park. The station was served by the Armadale and Thornlie lines prior to its closure in November 2023. Oats Street station opened on 28 November 1954, as the introduction of diesel railcars made it possible to build stations closer together. The station consisted of two side platforms north of the Oats Street level crossing. The CircleRoute bus began operating in 1998, allowing access to Curtin University from the Armadale line. A bus interchange was constructed soon thereafter, and Oats Street soon became one of the most important stations on the Armadale line. The Thornlie line opened in 2005, with Oats Street station being one of the few transfer stations between the two lines, further increasing its importance. Since 20 November 2023, the station has been closed to allow for the railway to be elevated and for Oats Street station to be rebuilt as an elevated station, as part of the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project. The new station will straddle Oats Street and feature an expanded bus interchange. It is planned to reopen in mid-2025. Prior to closure, the Armadale and Thornlie lines each had a 15-minute frequency, reducing to every 30 minutes at night. The Thornlie line was less frequent on Sundays, operating every 30 minutes, and the Armadale line was more frequent during peak hour. Bus routes from Oats Street station went to Airport Central station, Kalamunda bus station, Curtin University, Belmont, and Kewdale.

Carlisle railway station is a temporarily-closed suburban railway station on the Transperth network in Western Australia. It is in the Perth suburbs of Carlisle and East Victoria Park, and was predominantly served by Thornlie line services prior to its closure in November 2023. The station first opened in July 1912. It was known as Mint Street station at first, but it was renamed Victoria Park East station in October 1912 and to its present name in May 1919. It gained a station master in 1922, which lasted until 1971. Carlisle station had minor upgrades from 2002 to 2003 in preparation for the opening of the Thornlie line, which happened in 2005. Since 20 November 2023, the station has been closed to undergo a complete rebuild as an elevated station as part of the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project to remove a nearby level crossing. The station and line are planned to reopen in mid-2025.

St James is a suburb shared between the Town of Victoria Park and the City of Canning in the Perth metropolitan area. It was gazetted in 1957 by the Canning Road Board (now City of Canning) and is named after St James's Park in London. A number of streets in the suburb are named after notable UK Prime Ministers and Members of Parliament (including Palmerston, Walpole and Pitt Streets). Boundary Road defines the boundary between the City of Canning and Town of Victoria Park and is the main east-west thoroughfare in the suburb. The main north-south counterparts are Albany Highway in the east and Berwick Street-Chapman Road in the west.

The Division of Swan is an Australian electoral division located in Western Australia. Swan is a marginal electorate that has swung between both major political parties in the past two decades. It extends across the Swan River from central Perth, and covers most of the area between the Swan and Canning Rivers.The seat includes a mix of incomes and housing types, from low-price flats to affluent suburbs with Swan River views. The electorate includes the campus of Curtin University, the Welshpool and Kewdale industrial areas, and Perth Airport. Swan covers 151 sq. kilometres.The current MP is Zaneta Mascarenhas, a member of the Australian Labor Party. She was elected in the 2022 election.

Groove 101.7FM (ACMA callsign: 6YMS) was a Western Australian community radio station broadcasting from studios located in Carlisle, owned and operated by the Youth Media Society of Western Australia Incorporated. First broadcast in March 2003, the station was closed in March 2008.

Welshpool was a railway station on the Transperth network. It was located on the Armadale and Thornlie lines, 9.5 kilometres from Perth Station serving the suburbs of Welshpool and Bentley, Western Australia. The station closed on 20 November 2023 as part of the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project, as it was located too close to the nearby Leach Highway bridge for a new station to be built.

Lathlain railway station was a suburban railway station on the Transperth network in Western Australia. It was on the Armadale line in the Perth suburbs of Lathlain and Victoria Park. The station opened on 2 May 1958 to serve Lathlain Park, the home ground of the Perth Football Club. The station closed on 2 February 2003 due to low patronage, its close distance to the adjacent Carlisle and Victoria Park stations, and the need to lower the railway line to build the Miller Street/Roberts Road bridge.

Nyandi Women's Prison was a correctional facility that became the Boronia Pre-release Centre for Women after its expansion in 2004. Located in Bentley, Western Australia, the prison was originally a juvenile detention centre for girls, and it was later used as a pre-release, low-security facility for women. It housed 50 women when the prison was expanded on the land formerly used by the Longmore Detention Centre. The women were moved to the new buildings when construction was complete in 2004. Since it closed as a prison, it is now used as the Corrective Services Academy for training Corrective Services Staff.

Lathlain Park (also known as Mineral Resources Park under ground sponsorship arrangements) is an Australian rules football ground, located in Lathlain, an inner-eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Since its opening in 1959, it has been the home ground for the Perth Football Club of the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Since 2019 it has been the administrative and training headquarters of professional Australian Football League (AFL) club the West Coast Eagles.
