Nieheim

Gut Holzhausen is an estate and manor house (Gut) in Holzhausen, part of Nieheim, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The present buildings of the estate, which goes back to the 14th century, were mostly built in the 19th century. The estate is a listed monument. It is used for biodynamic farming, and also a venue of community events, such as a culture festival called Voices.

The Bilster Berg Drive Resort is a private motorsports club for automotive enthusiasts and manufacturers with a 4.274 km (2.656 mi) long motor racing circuit in Pömbsen, a district of the village of Bad Driburg in the Teutoburg Forest. The track is built on land formerly used by the British Army as an ammunition depot; it was designed by Hermann Tilke, with input from Walter Röhrl.

The names of the communes are Schieder, Brakelsiek, Schwalenberg, Lothe, Ruensiek, Wöbbel, Siekholz and Kreienberg, the district Schieder together with Glashütte is a Kneipp health resort. Together they have c. 8,400 residents (2020).

The Nethegau (also called the Netgau in many sources) is a region in central Germany named after the river Nethe and covers, in the main, the Brakel Upland between the River Weser and the Egge ridge around the towns of Brakel and Bad Driburg in the district of Höxter in North Rhine-Westphalia. The region was formerly a Saxon Gau and was administered by Gau counts following the Carolingian conquest of Saxony. Parts of the area also transferred into the ownership of Corvey Abbey over the course of time.
