High Park

High Park Forest School is a former special school in High Park, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was a school founded to provide a boost to children who were tubercular or had other physical detriments. Today, it is an outdoor environmental education facility run by a local non-profit organization called the High Park Nature Centre. It is located in High Park west of downtown, on Colborne Lodge Road.

High Park was a federal electoral district in the west-end of the old City of Toronto, in Ontario, Canada. It was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1935 to 1972. It was created in 1933 and abolished in 1972, when it was redistributed into the newly created High Park—Humber Valley electoral district, which shared the same boundaries as High Park's 1966 incarnation.

High Park Loop is a turning loop and the western terminus of the 506 Carlton streetcar line of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) in Toronto. Streetcars enter westbound straight from Howard Park Avenue across to the west side of Parkside Drive and into the loop at the east entrance to High Park, turn anticlockwise through the loop, and return eastbound through the intersection. The building at the loop has facilities that include washrooms for operators and the public, and a sheltering canopy over the platform in front.

Colborne Lodge is a historic house museum located in an 1836 home in Toronto's High Park. John George Howard, an architect, engineer and prominent Toronto citizen, built this house, which became the property of the city following his death in 1890.

Taiaiako'n–Parkdale—High Park is a federal electoral district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is made up mostly of the old Parkdale—High Park and the southern portion of York South—Weston. It was created during the 2022 Canadian federal electoral redistribution process. The 2023 representation orders renamed the electoral district Taiaiako'n—Parkdale—High Park. The new electoral district came into effect upon the calling of the 2025 Canadian federal election. Karim Bardeesy became the district’s first unofficial Member of Parliament-elect on 28 April 2025. According to the 2016 census, Taiaiako'n–Parkdale—High Park has the lowest percentage of visible minorities (26.2%) among all City of Toronto electoral districts. It also has the highest percentage of people of Irish (20.0%), German (9.8%), and French (8.9%) ethnic origin of all City of Toronto electoral districts.

As of the October 19, 2015, Canadian general election, the current Member of Parliament (MP) is Liberal member Arif Virani. According to the 2016 Census, Parkdale—High Park has the lowest percentage of visible minorities (26.2%) among all City of Toronto ridings; it also has the highest percentage of people of Irish (20.0%), German (9.8%), and French (8.9%) ethnic origin of all City of Toronto ridings.

Parkdale—High Park is a provincial electoral district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, created in 1996 and represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1999. It is located in the Toronto's west-end, bordering on the lakefront to the south, the Humber River to the west, and the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks essentially defining its northern and eastern borders. There are 107,035 residents in the district. Federally the electoral district is held by Member of Parliament (MP) Arif Virani, provincially by Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Bhutila Karpoche and municipally by city councillor Gord Perks (Ward 4).

High Park is a subway station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located just north of Bloor Street West, spanning the block east of Quebec Avenue to High Park Avenue. It opened in 1968 as part of the westerly extension from Keele to Islington station. Wendigo Creek was a short watercourse in Toronto, Ontario, that drained into Grenadier Pond. It was spring fed, like nearby Spring Creek. Its headwaters were north of Bloor Street, near Dundas Street and Laws Street.Tributaries joined the main channel at Clendenan Street and Glendonwynne Street, north of High Park.The creek's steeply sloped ravine was 15 metres (49 ft) deep where it crossed Bloor, until that portion was filled in, in 1915. A conduit carried the creek under the embankment. Currently, storm sewers empty into channelized open remnant of the creek, south of Bloor, in the north end of High Park.Sediment washed down the creek, formed a sandbar, at the outlet of Grenadier Pond, sealing it off, as a separate pond.A follower of John Harvey Kellogg, William McCormick, and his wife, both medical doctors, built a sanatorium at 32 Gothic Avenue, along the creek's banks, in 1905. The pair built "mineral baths", claiming the spring-fed creek had special health benefits. When the McCormicks shut down the sanatorium the mineral baths were turned into official city swimming pools.

Keele is a subway station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located just north of Bloor Street West on the east side of Keele Street. The station opened in 1966, and was the western terminus of the line until 1968. Wi-Fi service is available at this station.

The High Park Club is a tennis and curling club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The club is located on Indian Road, just east of High Park. Prior to 1910, curling took place on Grenadier Pond in High Park. The club organized and built its clubhouse in 1911, making it one of Toronto's oldest curling clubs.

Jami Mosque (مسجد جامع) is a mosque in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Located just east of High Park, it is the oldest Canadian Islamic centre in the city and dubbed "the mother of all the mosques in Toronto".Built in 1910 as a Presbyterian church, the building was purchased in 1969 by Toronto's small, predominantly Bosniak and Albanians Muslim community and converted into the city's first Islamic worship centre.While Jami originally held a large number of Tablighi Jamaat followers, the numbers declined after a large influx of Gujarati Muslims immigration led to the leasing of a hall in eastern Toronto; and the eventual 1981 purchase of a building converted to Madina Mosque, which became the spiritual hub of Tablighi Jamaat. Jami then drifted towards finding leadership in the Muslim Students Association.
